Weekend

Well this weekend was another crazy weekend! Rebecca's final competition before the championships was this past Saturday in Madera. I, of course, do her makeup everytime now. If the other girls do it, she looks horrible. She gets compliments on her makeup when I do it. She had their last regular season football game last Friday, so she got home aroun 11pm. Then had to be up at 8 to be a practice at 9. Richard had to go put the sponsors names on the back of the semi trailer. I went down there a little while later. At 11 we had to pick up Katie for her first overnight visit.
Rebecca's practice was over at 12, so we rushed her home, so she could shower and get ready to go. They were leaving at 4. Richard and I threw chairs in the van, and headed to Costco on Shaw and 99. We had to pick up 28 pizzas for the Juniors, Sophmore and Freshman band members. The Seniors were getting a fancy dinner for Senior night. We got there just as the buses were pulling up to Madera High School. The kids got hot pizza!
The kids performed at 9:10 pm. So we had to wait with all the stuff until 10:00. They won Sweepstakes, which is the grand prize out of two or three different groups. That is all I understand about Sweepstakes awards.
We got home around 10:30 and put all the kids to bed. Sunday we got up and started bathing everyone. By 11am, everyone was bathed and had their hair done. My camera was not charged so I could not take any pictures!!! They all looked so cute in their pretty dresses and their pretty hair. We really need to get Rebecca a new church dress. It is so hard to find one in her size that does not look horrible. They all show too much cleavage, leg or are too tight!
The final end to our weekend was dinner at the Gilbert's, Rebecca and ReAnna going to choir practice and dropping Katie off at her house. All in all it was a great weekend and we really got to know Katie and she genuinely seems to like us. We all got hugs alot and when she got hurt she came right to us.
We are planning all our family events this coming holiday season with her. Family pictures, trip to Santa, ride down Clovis' Christmas Tree Lane, etc. I just need a place to get pictures done for Christmas that are decently priced and not Wal mart style. Though the Walmart price is nice, I just do not want pics of us swished together with a totally lame background. I want fun family pictures in our Christmas garb!!

Here is the link to see Rebecca's picture in the paper. Her pic is almost at the end and she is the H in Buchanan! You have to scroll down after you click the link and click on start audio slide show! http://www.fresnobee.com/multimedia/story/1007690.html

You can not see her face, but you can see her body and her uniform! None of ReAnna, but there would be no way to cover their faces. They can not publish a minor's picture in the paper without parental permission. That is why their faces are covered.

Veteran's Day Parade and The Fresno Bee

I just found out today that Rebecca's picture was in yesterday's paper. Well just her body because her face was covered with a sign. If you look at the article about the Veteran's Day Parade in the Fresno Bee, the girls carrying the Buchanan sign picture, Becca is the H!! I will see if I can get a copy and post it, but if you have the paper take a look. I hope I have ours still at home. When we clean things get misplaced so to say!!

Halloween Fun

This is their older sister, Katie. She was a White Princess.
Amber was a Fairy Princess and was begging for candy.

Christopher was a beaten up pirate!

ReAnna was Goth and Olivia was a Flapper.

Now that Halloween is over, we can get back to our normally very busy, always running somewhere life. Halloween was fun and interesting!
Amber and Christopher were, like every other Clovis School's elementary students, off on Halloween! Rebecca and ReAnna were not happy about that. As junior high and high school students, they went to school. No more parent teacher conferences!! Yeah!! I hate those!!
Richard was at Rebecca's school at lunch since Wednesday selling Boo Grams with the Color Guard girls!! They sold about $100 total! He would have sold more, but he ran out of Boo Grams! Hopefully the Gobbler Grams will be as successful!
Christopher and Amber's sister Katie, 8, was going trick or treating with us! They were very excited. The last family that they lived with, told them trick or treating was evil. I wonder all the time how those people can be like that! Plus they were taught that they are aliens on this planet. Weird!!
Our ward was doing dinner and trunk or treat on Halloween at 6 pm. We had chili dogs and frito boats! Oh and of course cupcakes and cookies!! We sat down and ate together and then waited until it was time to do Trunk or Treating!! The kids had a blast! The kids from my class that were there, came by to show off their costumes. It was great. A couple of them pretended like their "twins" were getting all the candy. I played along and they love that! Christopher, Amber and Katie filled their buckets up! They were loaded with candy!!
Rebecca was at school for the game and their field show. So trick or treating was not happening for her. ReAnna went with a friend to a Halloween party and to her friend's church for a Halloween carnival. She had fun with her friend. She went as a gothic person.
Before taking Katie home, we went to the nieghborhood that does the Christmas decorations on every house in the neighborhood. Right there on Peach and Alluvial. One house made their front yard scary and one turned their's into a haunted house of sorts. I went through the haunted house first with Katie and then with Christopher. Amber was not having anything to do with the Haunted House! Katie did ok, but cried throught most of it. Christopher left his candy bag with Dad, just in case he needs to run away from the monsters. I told him to throw candy at the monster. SO when a bloodied monster doctor with a huge fake machete came after us he threw the candy he just got at him. The guy was stunned trying to figure out what hit him. Christopher was so proud of the throw. Richard told him throwing candy at monsters is ok, but never throw chocolate!
We took Katie back to our house and the kids changed. We headed to her house and dropped her off. Then we headed to Me N Eds for the after game party for the band. We sell two slices of pizza and a soda for $5.00. We do not make much money but the kids have fun! We got home around 11:30 and everyone went to bed. I have some great pictures I will put up soon. They are on my Facebook, if you go there and look!
