Dear Bloggie...
I'm bored.
So bored till I actually thought of blogging.
Usually blogging would be like the last thing in my mind.
But no, not today.
Every other thing is just too boring.
I just don't know what to do anymore.
My whole body is cramped from yesterday's swimming.
And yes, every week i've got to go for swimming lessons.
Yes people. I DO NOT know how to swim.
*covers ears while people yell and boo at me so I won't feel worse than I already am*
You done? Thanks.
It's not that I don't want to learn when I was young.
Ok well, maybe I don't.
Partially cause I'm AFRAID of drowning.
Just AFRAID of DROWNING.
*sigh*
But after these few swimming lessons, I feel it's actually fun, if not, tiring.
My coach told me I can swim already but needed to be stronger.
I'm super thin la can, how can I be stronger when I don't have muscles to begin with.
Anyhoo, the first stroke I'm learning is Breast-stroke.
I read from the net that it's the most tiring stroke compared to the rest.
And it sure was, considering the fact that my legs are killing me now.
So my kicking and snapping *the leg movements* are quite 70% there...
Now I just have to time my breathing and my hands together.
I didn't realise how fun swimming can be.
Maybe it's time I came out of my shell and actually DO something.
Let's now focus our attention from swimming, to something more close to heart.
BAND.
Yes band.
What you expect? Relationship? oh please...*sigh*
So let's see, I went for the band exchange between RI, St Margs, Anglican High, Dunearn and Ngee Ann Sec band at Anglican High.
The band was the last to perform as we reached AHS quite late.
Anyhoo, I only got to hear Dunearn.
They were ok I guess, but one thing I realised from this exchange is that, the set piece never sounds nice.
Ngee Ann band was SUPER nervous which made them unconfident in their playing.
I totally understand what they were going through..
All the gold bands in front of them and they are like the weakest band there.
I'd pee in my pants if I wasn't confident enough.
Coming from a guy who went for SYF twice with two different instruments is really something to take note.
Every SYF is different. No matter how similar the name sounds.
The atmosphere will always be different.
And for those going for SYF for the first time don't really know what to expect.
And I'm not going to bother telling you guys about my experience, if you want to know.
I just hope Ngee Ann band can be consistent like the past SYFs.
If I can, I'll never want to miss the chance to see my juniors perform for SYF.
I'll even skip school to go watch them.
This coming Wednesday Hardy Mertens is coming down!!!!
I miss that guy. I think I've met him afew times before.
First time was in 2003 for my first SYF. He came to correct mistakes since we were playing his piece.
Anyways that was last time, this coming wednesday the band will need all the help they can get.
So that's for Ngee Ann band.
Yesterday I went for this concert at Ulu Pandan CC.
I went with my junior whom I kinda forced to go.
The concert was ok at first but it grew boring near the end.
Me and my junior were like counting down the songs left.
The only interesting thing was watching different conductors conducting the band.
The different styles of strokes and how they express their feelings to the band.
Some were funny while others were very serious.
So I can say I kinda enjoyed the concert.
Met my fren Firdauz there too, he's the guy hu can't tune a timpani.
But he did a great job with the solo at the drums for one of the song.
The concert ended with alot of people shouting for an encore.
But sad thing was, there wasn't any.
So me and my junior left the place immediately.
And that was the end of a very tiring night.
The whole of last week except thursday and today was about band.
I guess I should have joined SPband last year, I regret not joining it last year.
*sigh*
But what's done is done, all I can do now is think before doing something and how it's gonna affect me later on.
So this is Fiqz signing off with a very very very boring day ahead wishing all well and have a great day in school tomorrow! *hee hee* =P

Dear Bloggie...
Ok then, it's been like a month since I've updated my blog...
And it's been kinda dead for so long...
So I guess it's time to update...
Let's jump in straight into the content shall we...
For the past month, I can only recall doing one major thing....
And that is joining SPband unofficially...
I said unofficially cause I'm not a member yet...
But I've gone for the practices and I'm starting to like it there...
The main reason why I joined the band is because I want to improve on my playing...
After a year of MIA from the band scene, my playing has become very rusty...
And also I miss performing in concerts...
So the first step was going to the band's blog...
Ask around and that's where I met my Eupho senior...
He accepted me into the band and now I'm in the band...
I felt kinda awkward at first, but after some practices, I met new people...
Did I mention what I had to do on the first practice?
There's this thing called "Orientation"...
Where supposedly the new member goes up to the podium and intro himself to everyone...
And also most of the band members grab this opportunity to ask me questions...
Some of the questions were "Who's the most prettiest girl in the band?"...
Which stunned me for a second and forced my brain to think fast....
So I just replied "I find everyone is good looking in their own style..."...
There's other "saboh-ing" questions la, but I shall not mention...
So for now I know most of the Eupho section....
I know two from Saxophone...
And I guess one from Double Bass...
Everyone is like super friendly la...
Oh yar, the conductor RAWKS!
He's like super funny and he really know what he's doing...
A very knowledgable guy, friendly too...
When he conduct, I think everyone can feel the vibe that's going on...
So that's all about my experience in the SPband for now...
I'll be performing for the concert in May...
It'll be the first time for me performing with the band...
If I'm not wrong, we'll be playing Miss Saigon and Highlights from Chess...
If I'm not wrong la....
So that's it for SPband....
Now for NASband...
Last week I went for the band practice where there was combine...
Then the band really got a wake up call from the conductor...
They were recorded and their playing was not as good as I expected...
That was the first time, but after given 30 mins to practice...
The second time was much much better...
I also went for the practice where the sec 1s join in...
My junior said we have two new sec 1s...
But only one turned up as the other one had some school stuff...
So I taught this sec 1 how to buzz..
And as usual like all sec 1s, they starting laughing instead of buzzing...
Well at least it wasn't as bad as my junior when she started out....
She laughed until her whole face turned red...
Anyway, this junior laughed before buzzing...
So I find it quite distracting...
But nonetheless, a junior of my junior is still my junior...
So I just taught the guy how to buzz and hopefully after bringing home the mouthpiece, he could buzz properly...
After the practice was over, I went straight home...
So today I woke up late as usual...
My friend Fairuz got into my school, congratulations...
Now I'm waiting for my another friend to tell me if she got into SP anot...
Hope to see some familiar faces...
And today, I mean, later I'll be going to Singapore Conference Hall...
With NASband to have their rehearsal for SYF...
I hope everything goes well later and I hope they play better than last week...
Oh yar, I'll be getting my results tommorow, so please pray hard for meeee...
I guess that's it then....
Take carez people! And thanks for reading my blog..
Come again soon!
