If there is anything I hate in this entire world more than shopping for shoes....shopping for purses...
Don't get me wrong, I love shoes and purses. But, only when I stumble upon them accidentally. When I actually NEED one, I have the hardest time finding anything at all.
My usual purse bit the dust...the zipper ripped off, it was dirty and way too small...so I thought I'd be all grown-up and clever and go to the mall to buy a new one. Worst errand ever...I went in EVERY SINGLE department store and what I liked I couldn't afford ($450 dollars??? Wha??) and everything else was something my grandma would carry (no offense, Grams). It was overwhelming and made my head hurt...I spent 2 hours there.
So I went to Target where the world make sense. And I found my perfect purse in less than 10 minutes.
This is the only thing I could think of to type because my life has become inheritantly boring and dull.
But, I am rather tickled JK Rowling is going to write a HP Encyclopedia...standing in line for 2 hours before midnight might not be over just yet...

Thank You, Harry.
Thank you, Harry
Thank you, Harry.
Thank you for entertaining me with your prepubecent banter, your sarcastic wit, and your ability to mis-judge pretty much all those around you.
Thank you for helping me realize that sometimes, my problems just aren't so bad.
Thank you for surrounding yourself with such colorful characters.
Thank you for allowing me to feel through you.
Thank you for teaching me that its ok to make mistakes because we are all human no matter what.
Thank you for showing me how to be brave.
Thank you for teaching me that what is right isn't always easy.
Thank you for being an example of fierce loyalty to one's friends.
Thank you for teaching me how to value my friends.
Thank you for inspiring me to do good.
Thank you for being MY friend.

Phoenix Review: Proceed with Caution
Harry Potter Movie Review: SPOILERS PEOPLE.
Still wrapping my mind around last nights movie...
Awkward moments: Cho/Harry kiss (I just squirmed it was SO AWKWARD TO WATCH)...The Order in Harry's house...any scene with Mrs. Figg...Cornelius Fudge's "He's really back" line...just...awkward.
What the bloody hell???: Umm...I was under the impression this movie was about The Order...so...where were they? Other than Harry, everyone was frickin emotionally disabled...Howler for Petunia? How about the Dursley scene in general?? Quidditch anyone? How about some sort of emotional reaction from the Weasley's when their dad is BITTEN BY A FRICKIN SNAKE...
What I loved: The Prophecy room falling apart...Voldemort raining broken glass upon Dumbledore's head which in turn is turned into sand...Voldemort's possession of Harry...Luna Lovegood...Snape's memory...McGonagall vs. Umbridge scenes...Umbridge in general...BLOOD!! EVERYWHERE!!! SO EVIL!!...SIRIUS PUNCHING LUCIUS MALFOY IN THE FACE
Mixed feelings that are obviously not coherent enough to form sentences...seeing it AGAIN only in IMAX 3D tonight...then I'll tell you what I think.

Nightmares on Wheeler St.
Horrors
I made it a rule of thumb for myself never to watch horror movies after I had 6 weeks of nightmares and hid my TV in the closet when I first saw "The Ring". Unfortunately, morbid curiosity gets the best of me sometimes and while flipping through the channels this afternoon, SciFi had the movie "Cabin Fever" on. You know, the movie with Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter in "Boy Meets World" if that rings a bell) where the college kids are staying in a cabin in the woods and contract a flesh-eating disease that causes all their skin to fall off. Yeah, that movie. So in my grotesque horror, I watched a majority of it only to find every time I itch myself, I have a sinking feeling I'm going to rip a chunk of flesh off. Enough was enough when Shawn Hunter (more manly but no less horny of course) hits a deer that somehow gets its front feet through the windshield of his truck and starts flailing about until Shawn blows it to bits with his rifle. There were only 20 minutes to go, but it was just time to turn the damn thing off. I was rather impressed, however, when Shawny managed to bludgeon his girlfriend to death who had no face left yet was somehow still alive. I hope I'm a good enough friend to do that should any of your faces start falling off.
I'm sure there will be nightmares.
On a POSITIVE movie note...very few days remain between me and the fifth Harry Potter movie. Now, the fifth book is by far my favorite for several reasons, among which are George and Fred's glorious exit out of Hogwarts, the inter-mingling and introduction of several righteous Order members (such as Tonks and the real Mad-Eye) and of course, the final fight scene in the Ministry of Magic. I saw a clip from the Prophecy room and LOVED it. Bellatrix Lestrange is so evil and just pure insanity. I look forward to Dumbledore and Voldemort going head to head but am not looking forward to Harry's awkward asian kiss. Any romance in these books has not gone over well with me because I'm frankly just not interested. It helps character development though, so I tolerate it.
Once all seven books are out, grad students can start doing masters and doctoral thesis on them...as an English major, I'm keeping that in mind...

Parting is Such Un-sweet Sorrow...
When I was younger and the world was all wrong (which it was a lot thanks to my family and my emotionally abusive father), I would hide up in my room for hours reading. It wasn't until i was 14 or so that I found the place I would always turn back to ...Harry Potter. He had more problems as a kid than I would ever have to face and yet, he made me feel like I had a friend with which to commiserate. The books are ridiculously entertaining, but for me, they have been a constant friend and companion through the hardest and darkest times in my life. They have special meaning beyond words...those characters were there when there was a horrible fight at my dad's house, when I couldn't sleep at night with my boyfriend off at college, when I had my appendectomy, even when I got to college and my boyfriend cheated on me...when I could finally sleep in my dorm bed again, I had a flashlight and Harry Potter up in my loft with me and would read late into the night when I couldn't sleep. I have favorite passages marked so even when I don't feel like reading a whole book and I'm sad or lonely for just a second, I can pull one off the shelf and read it...
But in two weeks, it will be done. And as excited as I am to know how it all ends, it really hurts my heart. No more late night conversations with Z and Anna about obscure details, imagining what might the outcome be or sparring with each other about who knows the most ridiculous details about the books. I'm 21 years old and can't bare to part with a story that has been my friend through every rough patch I can remember. I will sit up and read the book through the night with my friends by my side and Lord knows, I will cry when it's over.
But what a ride it will have been.
