Warm Weather

Fin has been playing outside A LOT. He loves to color with his sidewalk chalk and blow bubbles.

This week he is learning to say his name and count to 10, who knew?

Here he is with his latest "cheese" face on a warm day outside with Daddy.

Snow Dayz

Friday brought snow to Kansas City and that brought an idea to the Phillips Family. We went to the park by our house and enjoyed all the snow had to offer. We had a blast sledding down the BIG hill. Even though the climb back up was grueling it was worth the work to go down again. We made snow angels and even let Fin throw his first snow ball and his second and his third.... He clobbered Michael good! This was the first time he really played with the snow. We had so much fun. Then it was back home for pizza and movie night! What a great end to a long workweek! Hope you all are doing as well as we are!

Rough and Tumble

And so begins our life with a baby boy. This is far from Finley's first time getting hurt and I'm sure it won't be his last, but this weekend he fractured his clavicle.

He was playing on the couch and must have underestimated the surface area of the cushion. He tumbled to his doom, the whole 1.5 feet onto our carpeted living room floor. Who knew you could fracture anything but your pride by falling off the couch? It was a rough night, due to his fussiness we couldn't tell if he was getting sick or if he was really hurt. He didn't want to move all night. In the morning Mike noticed he was eating breakfast with his left hand (not his usual preference) so we took him to urgent care. They ordered an x-ray and the technician told us it looked like a fracture of his right clavicle. We went to the Dr. and she confirmed it. He has to wear a harness to keep his shoulder in place and keep him from moving it in a way that might hurt.

As you can see he is looking very pitiful and unhappy. He is a true invalid. Or maybe when Mike broke out the camera he flashed those pearly whites and said "cheese" as if all was well??? He is doing great! He doesn't seem bothered at all with the harness, what a trooper. Through his first one and a half years he has shown us nothing less.

On a great note...he has been taking steps all weekend, he took three all by himself on Friday and has only been increasing the number since then. He's not going to let a little clavicle fracture get him down!! More pictures to come of that!

Have a great week and pray for more walking!

321 Take off, Houston We Have a Problem

Fin is getting so close to walking we can taste it. I feel like we've been saying that for weeks, but really any day now.
He's got it down, he just doesn't trust himself enough to keep going once he doesn't have a finger to hold on to.
This weekend we are off to STL for my Dad and Jackson's birthdays. Maybe all of the big kids walking around will get him to try out his walkin' legs. Fingers crossed!

A Very Reynolds Christmas

This weekend we went to Myron and Rachelle's for the annual Reynolds' Christmas. What a bash, as usual. We loved seeing everyone.
Fin and Talon played with their cars and motored all over the basement. Fin was blessed with many fun gifts, he started playing as soon as he could. Here he is enamored with some new books while Michael and I are otherwise amused with something to our left??? We, no doubt, are going to have a hard time getting Fin to open up the second gift on Christmas morning.

We also went caroling and gave thanks to some families that have made a difference for the Reynolds over the years. I can't tell you how rewarding it was to see them enjoy their cookies and the songs we sang, what a fun night!

The Claus

Fin went to meet the popular couple this past weekend. Much to his dismay, Santa knew of his naughty behavior. He was, of course, devastated.
Really Fin has been a good boy all year and I'm sure he's on the NICE list. If Santa doesn't know it I know some grandparents that will make up for it!
Does this picture make Mike and I look mean or what? I think we will let him choose if he wants to sit on the big man's lap from now on. No more forced Santa visits.
Maybe he won't be so scary next year?
