Jessi's Kindergarten class performed some Christmas songs for a group of parents, families and friends tonight. Here are the songs that she sang. She was pretty animated in some of them. I failed and out video camera battery was dead, but I don't know how to upload it anyway, so we used our regular camera. Sorry the quality isn't the best. Enjoy!
She also got back her school picture a few months ago, I am a little behind, better late than never though.
As we traditionally do, we went up the mountain the day after Thanksgiving to get our Christmas tree. It was actually a pretty pleasant day up there and we wandered around for a while looking for the "perfect" tree. The longer we look, the less picky we become. Jessi chose our tree this year. I think she did a pretty good job.
Here are the kids walking around looking for the tree. Here are the two trees we chose. Jessi and Tanner helping Daddo cut down his tree. Jessi helping Daddy cut down the tree and Daddy showing them how old the tree was. I didn't understand why Tanner didn't want to help Daddy until I zoomed in on the pictures of him helping Daddo:) Who can blame him? The trees loaded on the cars, ready to go. Jessi and Tanner under the tree plugging in the lights for Daddy. Unfortunately our star had a little damage so it didn't light. Or so we thought. We later found out it did after we replaced it and now the replacement isn't working. We aren't sure what it going on with the star this year. The kids helping Daddy with the ornaments. More decorating. Even more decorating. The kids finding a new use for our stockings. Do you have your Christmas up?
We had everyone in town over to our house for Thanksgiving again this year. We are lucky to have the space to fit everyone comfortably. As usual the food was excellent and we all enjoyed the company. The kids and I did the pineapple turkey this year, for the first time by ourselves. They really liked it. We have so much to be thankful for this year and it was nice to stop for a few minutes and remember that.
We surprised the kids and drove to Disneyland the weekend before Thanksgiving last month. Gaga and Daddo took us all for Christmas this year a little early. We had a blast. We only got rained on a little this time and no one was in a cast like last time. Here are some pictures from our trip.
Jessi loved being there and Tanner will remember this trip as his first. Here they are dancing in the plaza between the parks.
Here we are as a family. Tanner wasn't cooperating so I plugged his nose with my fingers in the first shot. He looked a little better in the second:)
THURSDAY The first thing we did when we got there was wait to see Tinkerbell. Jessi wanted to do this last time but it was either raining or the line was 3 hours long, so we opted not to do that last time. We ended up waiting about an hour this time. The kids really enjoyed seeing the fairies though and they went and rode a few rides while Daddo, Hunter and I waited for them. Here is Hunter enjoying waiting in line because he could finally wander a little bit. Here are all the kids at the front of the line. Terrance was the first fairy we saw. We lucked out because this was the fairy Tanner wanted to see and you just get the luck of the draw. He gave Tanner some pixie dust to deliver to Tink. Here Tink is looking at the dust and putting it on Tanner head still in his hat. And finally a picture with Tinkerbell.
Jessi decided after that wait that we didn't have to wait for the princesses this time. I was sooo glad!
Hunter went on his first ride with Tia and Tio while we were waiting for Tink. I took these pictures from the Tink line so they aren't the best. He didn't like it very much.
Next we went to Mr. Toads ride. The kids really liked the car outside.
Hunter went back again with MJ. You can see this was his favorite thing in D-land.
It's a Small World Coming into the ride. During the ride. The kids were wide-eyed the whole time. There was so much to see.
The Merry-go-round Here is everyone but Jessica and I on the ride. We sat this one out. Hunter liked this ride too.
Tea Cups Adam and MJ took the kids on the tea cups. They had a blast. I'm not sure who had the most fun.
Woody Ride We finished up the night with the Woody ride. Daddo and Tanner sporting the 3-D glasses for the Woody ride. My favorite ride from both parks.
We were also able to see the parade in this park and the kids loved it! I wish I had had the camera out to see their reactions. We watched world of color too, but Hunter and Tanner fell asleep and Jessi fell asleep on the way back to the hotel. It was a really long day for them, and us too.
FRIDAY Minnie was our first character. Hunter didn't mind her, he didn't really know what to think.
Next was Mickey. Here are the kids sitting in his window waiting for their turn.
Here we are with Mickey. Hunter didn't like him as much.
We also saw Goofy in passing.
We got to see Santa too. The pictures didn't turn out very good of the kids. But great with Jessica and Adam.
Pluto was hanging out in from or Santa's reindeer so we got a few shots too.
We rode some more rides too. Here are Tanner and I on the roller coaster in toontown.
And the kids and Adam and MJ on Dumbo.
We saw the old fire truck and where they used to keep the horses, and our usual stop to see the tile with our name on it in the plaza. Later, MJ and the kids stayed and did a few rides while the rest of us went back to the hotel to rest before the parade.
Daddy took them on the play structure in California Adventure. They loved it!
We ended the night with the parade! Hunter got a little bored at the end and started bugging Tanner, I love his face.
After we got the kids to bed, MJ and I went out to the park on our own and did some of the bigger rides. Thanks Gaga for watching the kids!
SATURDAY The next morning brought a little rain. We hit Autopia first. Hunter wasn't big enough to ride so Vicky and I stayed with him first and the others rode while we waited. It took a long time to get all the cars started. But they finally got their turn. We lucked our that we just got to go right on again with the kids because the line got long fast. Hunter enjoyed playing on the top ramp while we waited, and only got a little wet.
Then we went on the bumper cars for our last ride of the trip before the downpour started. MJ had tried the night before but you have to be 7 to ride by yourself so he couldn't take the kids alone.
We met Buzz while on our way there.
SUNDAY We finished out our trip at Goofy's kitchen. We saw Aladdin, Mulon, Baloo, and Goofy at our table.
Also Chip and Dale came to say hi.
It was a wonderful trip and we look forward to when we can go back again. It is so good to take a break from the craziness of life and spend time together as a family.
