Updating on fun...

A long while since the last post.. So i guess this post should be really really long to keep some people updated right? heh...

So alright then..I'll start with the few interesting outings i had.
First...

Dorcas's 21st Birthday party

this happen like in february.

Really really long ago. There was a string of 21st brithday parties i had to attend that month. Terrible on my schedule since work was overwhelming then. But i guess i managed...

Here are some pictures of her BBQ which turned out pretty well i thought.

Joshua was trying to entertain the boys while the rest helped to start up the fire.

hahaha..Looking at lishen...He should be quite an expert at Bbqing all these food stuff since his family is in the catering business. He was so cute trying to cook food for everyone.

sighs..it's been a pretty long while since i visited their church. It's mean but the photographer took shots with Dorcas's face sliced in 2! hahah...Wing was like complaining to be about it.

So here's my best friend 21 years of age, friendship of 10 odd years and going, and myself. The photo makes us seem like we were oblivious to the huge cake in front of us...including everyone around us.

McRitchie Treetop Walk

This was an outing with my VCF SDE cell croup members months back.
We started off at the carpark near minghui's place so we didn't walk so much as compared to many others so complained of leg aches after walking 10km in and out. hahaha...

As you can see, the view was pretty good from above. I remembered when I was touring America with my family years back, I had a similar walk. Of course America, known for it's bigger is better approach, had a more impressive treetop walk. It was a walk among the tallest trees in the world, the Redwood trees. It was really amazing the refreshing.

Okay...this was actually where we rested before reaching the treetop walk. It starting raining heavily but because we were near a ranger post, we rushed over and sought shelter there. Good thing we packed food to eat. So here's us before downing the food...

Steamboat at my place was next!
If I recalled accurately(which is pretty rare), it was a week or two after Chinese New year. So instead of keeping all the equipments that my family used during CNY, I suggested that we have steamboat to save the trouble. But the food was yummy ok...

And here's part of my cell group.

Quan Bao's 21st Birthday party

There was the food..

and us...along with many others. A hip party from my neighbour...

While the hip crowd was downstairs partying below, we were upstairs playing MONOPOLY. Can you believe it?!

But yes...glad you enjoyed your 21st birthday QB.

Cycling at EAST COAST

I think it was jon's second or third time riding. But aside from the few falls, he was pretty good! He the best of example of picking yourself up after a fall. Really admire his determination and perseverance.

We decided to have ice cream and stop for a rest after an hour's ride. See Ching licking up her ice-cream? haha...
Huiying, as DEmure and Cute "AS USUAL..."

Hong Guan took this photo i think.

It's as if I'm promoting the ice mountain mineral water right...?

This was after the rest, embarking and setting off the rest of our journey.

Lastly, it was lunch at the food center nearby.

Cycling at Pulau Ubin

(Photos courtesy of Emily)

Here's Emily and i before embarking on our journey. A few shots before we got sweaty and dirty.

The group of us who went down, studio 4 and some others...From all the places we went I reckon this should be the most satisfying place for me. For one, the view was astounding and you feel like you're on the top of the world, which is pretty good considering the fact you can find a place like this in Singapore. And two, we had to trek through the forest, past mosquitoes and survive branches and leaves slapping your face to get to it.

I was pretty deadbeat on the way back cos I went cycling the night before. So my energy was definitely spent.
Looking back and heading home...

National Museum
My last interesting out was to the National Museum with my senior, Minghui...

Here's a snippet of what you'll encounter at the main area before moving towards the 2nd floor. The spaces are really huge making you feel kind of small. Seemingly preparing you to lose yourself in the coming journey. Sarah was there half an hour before me! haha..but i didn't bump into her cos the journey was pretty much one way.

This picture on the screen, observed by Minghui, is not projectedbut is displayed through a series of dots, forming a picture.

Going up...After the whole journey through Singapore's history starting from the rotunda and ending somewhere on the first floor, we went back up to the 2nd level to check out the rest of the galleries.

This space is featured as one of the more focal points of the building. It leads to the galleries of fashion, food, photography, film,etc...The skylight lights up the main space.

Within each galleries, the displays were very interesting. The way that they try to engage the visitor through their five senses and curiousity makes it one of the more interesting museums around.

This old dome was preserved

I liked the patterns on the railings alot. very pretty...and the staircase behind looks like a picture framed by the arch.

Looking so pretty in it's previous picture, we decided we had to take a picture with the staircase. haha...

I managed to get some fun during this period despite and business of the semester. But since it's the holidays now, I'm pretty excited on more of such thingsto come!

dual climate...

About the weather in a tropical climate like Singapore.

Came across these comics from my lecturer while re-reading my lecture notes for the second time. Though it wasn't that funny the first time i saw it i sort of giggled the second time. Laughter admist the stress...Perhaps they were a source of relief underneath the piles of notes above me.

She's always a woman to me...

I think this song is really cute...

She can kill with a smile

She can wound with her eyes

She can ruin your faith

with her casual lies

And she only reveals

what she wants you to see

She hides like a child

But she's always a woman to me

She can lead you to live

She can take you or leave you

She can ask for the truth

But she'll never believe you

And she'll take what you give her as long as it's free

She steals like a thief

But she's always a woman to me

Oh, she takes care of herself

She can wait if she wants

She's ahead of her time

Oh, and she never gives out

And she never gives in

She just changes her mind

She will promise you more

Than the Garden of Eden

Then she'll carelessly cut you

And laugh while you're bleedin'

But she'll bring out the

And the worst you can be

Blame it all on yourself

Cause she's always a woman to me

She is frequently kind

And she's suddenly cruel

She can do as she pleases

She's nobody's fool

But she can't be convicted

She's earned her degree

And the most she will do

Is throw shadows at you

But she's always a woman to me

Sound Journeys

Weeks of hard work especially for Kok Ming. But the group's effort finally paid off.

Xiao Xing's Birthday!

Happened last week...But still not to late!
We happily went to vivo city to celebrate after studio.
Nothing extravagant..it's my first time munching a Carl's junior burger. Country bumpkin right...but still it's nice. Too much fries though. Couldn't finish. HY gobbled it all up for me! hahaha..Not everyone had that for dinner.

That's no victory sign! Bad Ivan!

Is this picture sadisitic or wad?

The traditional evil birthday picture with 'THE KNIFE IN HAND'

They we so much like kids! really cute and fun to watch all of them trying to throw Bhotish into the wadding pool.

Really a nice place to people to relax. Kind of romantic at some places too...

Smile :)

Beauty

.
There is beauty everywhere
See the faces of beautiful people on magazine covers.
They are only part of the beauty that you see in this world
.
Beauty is not visual alone
It can be heard
Hear the music dance into your ears
Think of how music can described as beautiful?
.
Beauty invigorates the sense of touch
Feel the textures of the leaves and trees
Each has a unique 'thumbprint' in itself
.
Last of all...
Beauty is holistic
It is found in the face of God and we are made in His image
It is comforting to know that
We possess everything that's beautiful within ourselves
.

Yellow Fellow Party!

Let the sky tell you the time...
And let the Smiles show you the fun!

Happy 20th Birthday Sarah!
