So i saw these really cute fabric flowers on my friends blog ( hi Kara ) and i had to try them out. There are so many ways you can use them.... in hair, on hats, on bags, on jackets, and on pillows for a little extra cuteness.
I have been wanting to make the girls some throw pillows for their room but when i saw these flowers i had to get on it just so i had another excuse to whip up some more flowers. I love love the pillows. they look so good in their room and they turned out exactly as i was imagining. The cool little bonus is that the flowers clip on and off so they can wear them in their hair too, ( the one's that are small enough anyway).

in my free time...
you know me, i always have to have a project messing up the house. so i have been slightly obsessed with making aprons. i think these are so cute, so easy, so inexpensive. All tied up with a bow, i think they make great gifts, especially if you throw in a matching hot pad and dishtowel. i made a couple for me, and a small one for cadence to wear when she helps me cook, and a few for friends. I'm on to the next thing now, but the apron phase was fun. hope you like.
FUN with Friends
Last week for FHE we had some friends over. We built graham cracker houses. huge mess, lots of fun. dylon did his all by himself while dad and sissy worked on a 2 story mansion. pj was happy as long as she a cracker in both hands and plenty of frosting on her plate. i stayed out of the mess and had fun capturing the moment. cadence had fun but she was mostly concerned with how much frosting was going to be left for her to squeeze into her mouth.
...well it's about time i suppose
it's been so long since my last post ( half a year ) that i'm not sure i remember how to do this. I'll try to sum up the last few months ( only the good parts ) and we'll go from there :) i am so ready for this year and ready to forget the last but it may feel good to try to sqeeze out some of the good to help forget the bad. so lets see....
we spent all of JULY in McCall. it was amazing. so relaxing, so much sun and FUN. we played all day every day. i wish i could post the whole vacation album because i took hundreds of beautiful pics, but well go with these.
pj loved the sand!
this is cadence's mermaid pose
dylon had a blast and made lots of McCall friends
we were hiking and i had to get the awesome view. cadence had to do her "icarly" pose for the camera.
we had to get back into the swing of things in AUGUST because dylon started school early. We did spend some time at the lake on the weekends and we went to the fair...oh, and dylon started football, and i brought out the julia child in me and spent the month canning peaches, salsa, beans, and some jam. can't think of much else...peaches anyone?
1st day of 1st grade
...on to SEPTEMBER...
cadence turned 4, and i turned 27.
grandma Reece made her so many cute outfits for her new doll.
she wanted a butterfly cake this year
some of her favorite presents were her Belle dress and jeweled mirror that mom and dad made her
OCTOBER, let's see...
the girls and i went to the pumpkin patch with preschool, grandma and grandpa visited us from CDA , i ran prison break half marathon with 2 awesome ladies, and halloween was fun as always. the girls were pioneers and dylon was cap'n jack sparrow.
oh, and we moved across town. how could i forget that? we left our beautiful house in the ghetto. we are closer to friends and finally have a yard, so it's exciting.

NOVEMBER
cadence and i had our annual show, dylon took a break from it this year. cadence chopped her hair off and i cried. the kids went with grandma and grandpa to visit their cousin payton in moscow ( they got matching polks dot dresses from grandma) and they went all the way to Iowa for Thanskgiving, leaving aaron and i all alone. It was nice.
still beautiful
cute kiddos
last but not least..... DECEMBER!
dylon cooked a fabulous dinner all by himself; cooked pasta, mixed and formed meatballs, garlic toast, salad..yum. it was amazing. The family went caroling to our friends and neighbors. The kids thought it was so much fun. We frosted lots of sugar cookies ( aaron's family tradition ), and ate lots of sugar cookies! We had an awesome Christmas, and then PJ had her 2nd bday on New Years Eve, a FUN way to end the year. Oh, and we announced the coming of baby boy Fehrs, due first week of May.

CONGRATS DYLON!!!
Dylon played in the Idaho Open Fiddle Contest this last weekend and he did a fantastic job. In the showcase division he won the best entertainer ( he and his little buddy Kolt did "the devil went down to Georgia" ) and then in his age group he placed 5th! He was hoping to do better but I thought he did a great job against some older kids who have been playing much longer. Now he has another trophy to add to his growing collection, and like all the others, he carried it everywhere for a couple days.

....and the winner is...
FUN DAY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
SON WINS!!!
MOM AGAINST SON
The kids and I all entered a car in this years' PINEWOOD DERBY. A first for all of us and we had SO much fun! THe cars not only looked great but they were all pretty fast too. Dylon's car "COBRA", weighing in at only a tiny 4.3 ounces WON the Open Class Division. My car "TOM" took second, and Cadences "PRINCESS" car did great too. She tied for the overall favorite looking car. It was beautiful if I do say so myself; complete with metallic and glitter paint, jewels, and a tiara. The kids picked their own designs, and did the first coat of pain. They were so into it. We already have ideas for next year!!!
