Captain Adorable!

The other day I had Luke in a onesie that I remembered Noah wearing a lot so I took some extra pictures.  It turns out that I took almost the same pictures of Noah at about the same time.  So I figured it would be fun to show you how much they compare.

Lukey Luke

Noah Bear
I don't think they look alike at all at this point, except the awesome hairdos!  They kind of did as newborns, but I don't see it anymore. I love that they are both smiley guys in front to the camera!!  Anyway, just wanted to show you our two boys!!

Weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Farny's

I'm slowly getting caught up here on the blog!

Last weekend Noah spent the weekend at Eric's parent's house.  He had a blast!!  It was funny because when Eric's mom and sister got here to pick him up, his first words were, "Let's go!".  I told him we had to pack the car up and that they probably wanted to see Luke (since he was sleeping at the time) and that he would have to wait.  Well he didn't really want to wait.  While we were packing up the car he climbed right on in and sat down in his car seat!!  Yeah he was ready to go.

Here are some pictures from his adventure at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo!

Watching the seals!
All aboard!

Look at those bugs
He isn't sure what to think of this
Wrestling the lizard
Cheese
Hey buddy!
Jammin' out on the African drums!
He really had a blast and didn't really ask about us, so I know he didn't get too homesick.  Now I will say I know he missed us because when we picked him up and met for dinner, he wanted to sit and eat his meal from my lap.

We also had a great time down in Indy.  I forgot how easy life is with just one kid!  We got our master bedroom decorated (stay tuned for a blog post about the before and after!). I got some sewing done (check out the Crafty Mama's blog soon for more info on those projects).  It was a nice break and we plan on doing this a lot more often!!

4th of July week

So I'm late getting this post together, but life is hectic with a newborn (as all of you know) so at least I am getting one together at all.

The first part of the week the boys and I were at my parents lake house.  Nothing special happened just hung out and had fun in the sun.

Wednesday we headed over to Pokagon State Park for the annual Schultz Family Reunion. Unfortunately, for Luke and I it was a short reunion.  He is just not the best napper and with us all sharing one room there wasn't much sleep that first night either so I decided it would be best if we went back to my parent's and let Eric and Noah really enjoy the reunion.  I can't wait until next year and both boys will really enjoy the fun times!

Here are some pictures...

Eric's mom turned 60 last month and we thought it would be neat to surprise her at the reunion with a little party.  She had no idea and I love the expression on her face.  Eric also put together a book of memories for her.  Each family member wrote a little something to her and we gave her the book at the party.  She loved it!
All the cousins that were there (Luke was eating so we missed out on the party )
Love this picture!!!
The four Schultz children and Great Grandpa (Gramps as Noah calls him)
Playing with bubbles!
Getting set up for the hay ride...look at the sucker selection (Noah was in heaven!)
Loving his sucker
Another picture I just love...he is so happy singing songs
After the reunion, Eric and Noah came back to the lake house and spent the rest of the weekend.  For the past 3 years my family has had a hamburger contest.  Each year someone new has won (I won the first year and have not been able to reclaim the title), so this year everyone was eager to try and reclaim the title or take it for the first time.  New this year was a trophy that my brother had made.  So now it's wasn't just about bragging rights it was about getting the trophy to keep on your mantle.  Well this year it was a new winner...my mom!  She was so excited to win!

Here are some pictures from the big event...

Making sure their burgers are cooking just right
Master Griller...luckily he didn't sabotage the rest of us and cooked all the burgers perfectly!
Getting ready to judge
A sampling of the 6 different burgers
Getting the plates ready
The winner...she made a teriyaki burger...it really was delicious!
Also here are some additional pictures from the week.

He loves to go fast with Daddy!
Deciding what he should get into next
Playing with cousin Will (Will just loved watching Noah play around him, it was so great to see them together!)
Before we left Noah just had to fish with Grandpa one last time
No fish were biting that day
We had a great week, but were glad to get back home.  June was a busy month for us and we needed to stay home for a little while and get back to a routine.

2 months old

Our little boy is already 2 months old.  There are days I can't believe he is already but most days I feel like he should be older.  (Part of that is because I am not the biggest fan of the newborn phase and would like this next couple of months to fly by.)

Anyway, Lukey Luke (as we refer to him most of the time) is growing bigger and bigger.  The basic stats are 10 lbs 13 oz (38%) and 22 inches (41%).  He did have to get some shots, which I hated.  The doctor thought he was doing great and we didn't have any major issues to talk about.

As for Luke's daily habits, he is eating every 2.5 to 3 hours and will give us a little bit longer stretches at night.  Most nights I only have to feed him once, but he is still waking up in between that time.  Most of the time we can give him his pacifier and he will fall back to sleep.  During the day he is still napping in his swing, but for now that works for us.  The only time that this is a problem is when we are out of the house for naps and we have to figure out another way to get him to sleep.

Luke loves to watch his brother play around him.  Like I said in the last post, Noah is always trying to play with Luke and I know that once Luke is old enough, they will be the best play buddies.  Just look at the way Luke stares at Noah, he is totally fascinated by everything he does!

Our big boy

So we finally went in for Noah's 3 year appointment (I combined his appointment with Luke's 2 month appointment, more on Luke's in another blog post).  Since I combined the appointments I knew it would be hectic.  However I did not expect to be 3 days post appendectomy, so that just added to the chaos.  Thankfully, Eric's sister was able to help me out, otherwise I would not have been able to do it myself.

Anyway, Noah is just getting so tall (he is now up to the 85th percentile at 39.5 inches) but keeping himself lean and mean (holding strong in the 20th percentile).

He is very smart and doesn't forget anything.  Well that is until he wants to ask the same question over and over, but I think that is more to get your attention.  He loves to ask questions and especially, "WHY?". Sometimes the constant questions get to me, but I try to answer them all.  Whenever they get to be too much I tell him that he needs to wait and ask Daddy when he gets home and guess what he usually does ask, right as Eric is getting in the door.

He is starting to remember whole songs from the radio or CDs I play in the car.  It is the best thing every.  He loves music that he can 'jam out' to.  He bobs his head and claps his hands to the music.  Right now his personal favorites are The Cave by Mumford and Sons and Moves Like Jagger by Maroon Five.  We have a CD that has both and he always requests those two songs.

He loves his baby brother.  This makes me so happy.  I really thought there would be major issues, but really the issues have been minor.  He really wishes his brother were bigger.  He is always trying to play with him.  And by play I mean, kicking balls at him, tickling him, trying to wrestle with him, or rolling cars all over him.  Most days the first question he asks is where's Luke and if Luke is with me the question is where's daddy.

He is our little funny man.  He loves to make people laugh and cracks himself up a lot of the time.  I need to start writing down some of the stories he comes up with each day.

I can't wait to see who he turns into when he is older.  I can't wait to see where life takes him.  It will be a fun ride!!
