Wyoming Day 6

We woke up early to head out of Yellowstone and into Jackson Hole.  We had to return our RV, pick up another rental car, and check into our house.  It was a busy morning!
Bye bye Yellowstone!
Hello Tetons!
I just love this sign...not sure why, but I just do!
After we got a little settled, a few of us wanted to go up the tram to one of the peaks in the Teton Range.  I was too scared to do it the last time we were there, but I was determined to do it this year.  I'm glad I did, because the views were amazing.  Luckily the smoke that was their earlier in the week had blown away so we were able to see quiet a bit up there.  It was nice to be able to leave the kiddos with my parents and have a few hours away to get some site seeing in!
Oh Shane, looking scared!
Next time, I think we need to hike up!
Up over 10,000 feet!
So glad the smoke cleared...the view was spectacular!
Headed back down on the tram
Once we got back, we decide that some more shopping was in order. (For those that have never been to Jackson, just know that there is some pretty awesome shopping in the town square!!)
The elk antlers in the two square
Seriously there was never a bad sunset out west!
Stage coach rides...one day I will do this!
The day was a nice start for our stay in Jackson!

Wyoming Day 5

Day 5 was our last full day in Yellowstone, so we decided to back track to some of the places that we hadn't yet seen.  Today was also the day we decide to all wear the t-shirts my mom had made for us. (On a side note, for all of our major family trips we have made matching shirts and this year was no exception.)
Last breakfast at the campground :(
Uncle Jason showing Noah how to walk on the logs....one of my favorite things to do when I was little!
We wanted to have lunch by Yellowstone Lake so that my dad could fish one more time.  It was also the perfect setting for our family picture.

Grandpa's little fishing buddy...
he didn't exactly catch any fish though!
Everyone in their shirts!!
Us....love my boys!
After lunch we went to another gyser basin (Midway Gyser Basin, I think) to look at some really neat gysers than we had never seen before.

Turquoise Pool
Turquoise Pool...the pictures don't do the color justice.  It was so pretty!
Grand Prismatic Spring, again pictures just don't cut it!
Then we headed back to camp for one last meal at the campground.
We even practiced a little tummy time while we were out there!
After dinner, Eric and my dad headed over to Lewis falls to get some pictures.  Its a really cool area, but the kiddos were kind of getting cranky and I didn't feel like packing them up to get the pictures.
The falls

Another beautiful sunset!

Wyoming Day 4

On day 4 we wanted to go to the Yellowstone Canyon and Old Faithful.  Once again we had a gorgeous day and everyone was excited to be seeing some of the big time attractions!

Using his goggles to see the waterfall!
Goggles!!!
His first glimpse of Old Faithful...he loved it!
Old Faithful Inn
Inside the Inn...so cool
After Old Faithful we went back to the campground for another fire and some fishing!

Lovely night for a campfire!
Not really sure what Shane was doing, but I thought it was funny!
As kids, we would always go down to the lake and watch my dad, grandpa, and uncle fish.  I'm so glad that Noah and Luke were able to start this tradition again!
No one else was fishing that night.
The grey clouds in the background was smoke.
Enjoying the night!
It was a fun day and a great ending to the day!!

Wyoming Day 3

On day 3 we decide we wanted to show the people that hadn't been to Yellowstone before some of the sites as well as visit places that we hadn't been too in a long time.  We headed up towards Mammoth Hot Springs area, but because of a traffic jam due to road construction we ended up stopping for a lovely picnic lunch on the way up to Mammoth.
Driving the big rig...waiting in traffic

A group of buffalo hanging out by the side of the road

Enjoying a lovely picnic
While at the picnic area, some of hiked, some stayed with the babies, and some went off on their own adventure to see Tower Falls.
My hiking buddy
Tower Falls...Eric got some really great shots of this area since not all of us went that way

Once we made it up to Mammoth, we had a stop for ice cream and shopping!  All of the men thought the shopping was not needed, but for some of us we needed to stop in every general store to make sure we weren't missing something.  And yes, not all general stores sell the same stuff.
I just love the building in the Mammoth area!
Tour car...so neat!
While we were shopping some of the group went to actually look at the geysers and hot springs...I know strange concept!
My brother and his then fiancee
The hot springs at Mammoth
Some elk came up to have a snack while we were leaving
After Mammoth, the kids needed a nap so we headed back down to the Lake Hotel area.  (I can't remember for sure, but I think they all did get to sleep at some point that day!) It was Liana's birthday that day so Jason planned to take her to a nice dinner at the hotel.  The rest of us stalked them ate at the nearby cafeteria and take a look at yet more gift shops (and the lake!).
How I spent most of the trip!
A lovely family picture...notice the smoke in the background.  There were several fires burning while we were there.
Aww, cousins!
The guys after dinner.
After dinner, we wanted to head to one last place before the night was done, because we love this area at night....Fishing Bridge.  Once again the this trip, the sun was setting and it was a great night!
Looking for fish
Lovely sunset
