Lake front property???

Last night we got a lot of rain (and I mean a lot!).  Add that to the snow melt that we have had here this past weekend and we now live on a lake...yes I said lake.  Here are some pictures from our the house and neighborhood.

At 3 a.m.

At 8 a.m.
Everyone was out trying to figure out how to get to school or work (the verdict is still out for Eric)
The little guy is ready to explore
One pond becoming two

Some cars thought they could make it...not so much
The one and only entrance to the neighborhood, hence why we are stuck.
Loving the adventure!

Heading back home...enough water for the day
So we are stuck inside for the day, but that's okay.  We have some things around the house that need done...which we will tell you about soon!

Snowed in at Grandma and Grandpa's house

The little guy and I headed up to my parents house last Sunday for a week for relaxation, crafting, and training for the mini...or so I thought.  We woke up Monday morning to freezing rain and snow which continued till the evening.  So we didn't train for the mini the first couple of days but we did craft and we did a lot of relaxing.  Oh yeah we also did a lot of playing with the grandparents.

Things slowly improved for a couple of days then we woke up again this morning with 6 new inches of snow and  still more snow coming down.  So we are stuck here till condition improve....which I hope is soon, I am missing the other man in my life!!!

Here are some pictures from our week so far.  I am slacking on picture taking.  It is getting hard to get a decent picture of the little guy when he is always on the go!
What's in this room that I can explore???
Look at this cool phone, Mom!!
New snow today
Loving his tent
Chillin' watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...his favorite show

Ice Storm - Part 2

Well we survived the big Ice Storm of 2011.  Our power stayed on all night and Eric was even able to make it into work today.  Now I couldn't even make it down the driveway to get the mail without falling...I should have just worn my skates again!  Anyway, here is what the little man and I were up to today.

A tunnel was added to our living room.  He loved it but only if I was under there with him...what a goof ball!

Pillow and an old mattress cover make a great play place for the man

Time out for a milk break (do you like the shirt...I made it for him with help from Aunt Jenny)
I was able to get my crafting done, our new wreath!
I had a few extra roses so I made a headband, two crafts in one!

Ice Storm - Part 1

Here in good old Indiana we are in the middle of the great Ice Storm of 2011!  Yeah not so much fun.  I would much rather get the snow people farther north are getting.  Ice, in my opinion, is so much worse than snow.

Last night we got about half an inch of ice then slush on top of that.  Eric went into work, but then came home because part 2 is starting as I type this.  He thought he would be able to get the ice cleared off of the driveway so we would be ahead of the game for the second wave.  Well it was a lot thicker than we thought.  So after seeing a friend's husband ice skate down his street I decided I would bust out the ice skates and skate around.  It was pretty fun and I got a little work out in!  The little guy missed out on the fun since he was sleeping.  He has been battling a cold and ear infections so I was happy to see him sleep!!  Anyway, here are a video and some pictures of our day so far.

Ice on the trees, first round

My skating rink!
Oh yeah I also got some crafting done...I make sure to do a little each day for some sanity!

Working on a winter wreath...I will write about it when I am finished
A t-shirt bag...quick and easy!
