Beginning of the Christmas Season

To start off our Christmas season we went to the Children's Museum to sit on Santa's lap (or so I thought).

Noah wasn't a fan.  I think between the line and not really caring who Santa is, he just wasn't in the mood.  On a side note the first time I asked him what he wanted from Santa he said cereal.  I am pretty sure Santa can do that! Anyway, here are a couple of other pictures from our morning at the museum.
Riding the slide with Dad
Ice fishing
He got one!!!
Ice skating!
In the ice castle
Becoming a frog...no good pictures of the finished product since he was jumping around too much
Once last ride, this time with Mom
We have plenty of other holiday fun planned and I will try and blog about it as much as I can.  One fun thing that is coming up that I will for sure be blogging about is when we find out what Baby Farny is going to be.  I am anxiously awaiting to find out.  It's funny that with Noah we didn't find out and I was okay with that, this time it's killing me not knowing.  So we will find out soon and let the world know!!

Thanksgiving 2011

We have so much to be thankful for this year. A new house, a new baby on the way, our health, our family and friends. I could go on and on. However this year I was most thankful for my wonderful husband who was able to catch a could be disastrous flood before it totally ruined our basement! Last Wednesday morning I woke up to finding this view of our basement.

Yeah not exactly what I wanted to see when we were wanting to pack up and enjoy our holiday weekend.  However thanks to my brother and Eric and their speedy ability to get everything under control we were able to leave on time and begin our holiday weekend.

We started off in Fort Wayne, where unfortunately I didn't take any pictures.  I know how bad am I.  Just know that we had a great dinner, some relaxing, and of course playing with Grandma and Grandpa Farny.  I did venture out for some Black Friday shopping at Jo Ann.  Eric braved the crowds with me and even was a big help when it came time to check out!  That was all the shopping I needed to do (and all I could handle) so we headed home and relaxed until we headed to Findlay.

We had a great time with my family as well.  I did manage to get some pictures while we were there.  We got to spend some time with our nephew!!!  Noah got some practice being a big brother.  He was very sweet and every time the baby would cry he would say, "It's okay baby".
Practicing his holding skills
So intense, I love him!
Near my parents house there is a little train track that is decorated for Christmas and gives rides to little kids.  I wasn't sure how Noah would do, but I kind of wanted to give it a try.  He was a little hesitant at first, but once we got going he was excited.  This will definitely be a family tradition!!
All aboard!
It's not really meant for adults, but my mom and I rode along to give Noah some support.
So we had a wonderful weekend, but it was time to head back and see how the basement was holding up.  Luckily we have great neighbors who went over and checked to make sure everything was working properly.  Everything was dried out without any major problems.  We do have to replace some drywall and the carpet padding, but that's it.  It could have been so much worse.  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are gearing up for the holiday season.  I am trying to get as much crafting done (it's been a little hindered with the basement situation, but I will manage and get my crafts done!!).

New House...guest room

So we have been in the house for almost two months and I don't even have a single picture of it on here yet.  Sorry, life happens.  Here are a couple pictures of the front.
Our lovely home!!!
Love the porch (need a bench or something, the one there isn't ours)

As for the inside I am going to do pictures of that in stages, as we redo different rooms.  What we loved most about the house was all the possibilites to make it our own.  The basic structure was perfect, but there was a lot that I wanted to change.  Mainly cosmetic (paint in almost all the rooms) and only a few structural issues (adding a wall isn't that big of a deal right??).

So for the first room redo, I will show you our guest room.  It is still kind of a work in progress, but for the most part it is done.
Before (picture taken during inspection)
After
Really light grey walls with our existing bedding and art work,

I am looking for a book shelf or small cabinet to put in there just to make it feel more like a guest room.  I also need a lamp shade or two, but those will come in time.

There are a lot of other works in progress happening around the house at this time, but I want to make sure they are all done before I show them off.  Thanks to Eric's great photography skills (and being at the inspection) I have before pictures of every room so you can see where we started.  I hope you enjoy the progress as much as I love changing things!!!  Also thankfully we also have family that loves a good project as much as I do (okay I may not like doing the work as much as I love thinking up the projects!!).

Happy Halloween

We had a fantastic Halloween. It all started Friday with a playgroup Halloween party.  I co-hosted the party and didn't take that many pictures, but it was a blast and it was nice to show off the new house.  Then over the weekend when we went to the pumpkin patch to get our family pumpkins.

Scoping  things out (we didn't have to pose him  for this either,  he did it all on his own!)
A long road to get just the right pumpkin...
Once we had them picked he needed to help me push,
but then he wanted to do it himself, such a strong boy!
After we got our pumpkins we wanted a couple of pictures in the apple orchard.  All the apples were gone, but it was still a great place to take pictures.

On Monday we waited all day to get ready for trick-or-treating. We weren't sure how the little guy would do, but we figured we would just wing it.  Our neighbors all sit outside and hand out the candy and one even has a little fit pit in their driveway that we all went over to once the swarm of kids had died down.  It was a fun night and I can't wait till he is even older because our neighborhood is great for Halloween.

Jake the Pirate ready to get some candy
Showing off his sword skills
Only one piece of candy and it was a tough decision!
I made Noah's costume again this year and he wasn't a huge fan of the vest, the headband on the other hand was a great success.  I will write more about how I made it on the Crafty Mamas blog here in the next couple of days.

The big D and I don't mean Dallas...oh wait I do!

So to get a little caught up I wanted to  post about our trip to Texas to meet my first nephew in September.  My mom, dad, the little guy and I decided we would take a road trip down there, while the rest of my family flew down.  Looking back, it may have been nice to fly given the fact that I had just found out I was pregnant and still pretty nauseous.  Thank goodness for Pop Tarts and oyster crackers or I would not have made the trip.  Anyway, once we were down there we had a great time!  I have a ton of pictures so I will just get right to it.
On the road again!
Once everyone was there we headed  to Top Golf
You had to make sure you aimed for the right colored circle...too intense for me,
but Noah wanted to give it a try!
The newest member of the family enoying all the action!
This is what early pregnancy does to me...
The first bath!!!
Eric and a couple other family members took a tour of the Dallas Cowboy's stadium
The cheerleaders locker room
I think this is a little big
The little guy was addicted to the iPad
The new aunties!!!
Wearing Grandpa's hat
I love this picture!!!
Whenever he would hold  his cousin he told use he was heavy!

Before we had to leave we headed down to the Fort Worth Stockyards and saw the cattle drive
The little guy wanted to ride one, but we figured  this was more his speed
Whoa horse
It was great to spend time with the family and to meet our newest addition. We can't wait to hold him again!!!
