Late Bloomer

This week I started an intensive four week class on basic and advanced floral design at the Portland Floral Design Institute. This is something that I have wanted to do for years and is one of the reasons I wanted to move to the Portland area. I have learned so much over the past five days. Here are some of the arrangements I have made.
The mug arrangement

The baby arrangement and the corsage

The asymmetrical arrangement

And my favorite, the basket arrangement. Aren't those roses spectacular?
I can't wait to see what's in store in the remaining three weeks!

Fabric Frenzy

Yesterday, Jason and I went to the self proclaimed, "Largest Fabric Store in the Country." It was a a sight to behold! Ladies walking around with their carts overflowing with bolts and bolts of fabric. Jason said that place was for people with fabric sheds. In other words, my mom would love it. It was so funny to see all kinds of novelty fabric prints. My favorite was the "foods" section.
I mean seriously, who would ever use tortilla chip fabric? This will have to be a stop for all of our fabric-loving visitors.

Christmas Festivities

Well, we all survived the holidays and the kids are back in school. It's always hard getting back into the swing of things. After 2 glorious weeks of sleeping in, I had forgotten exactly when the kids buses come in the morning. Luckily I got them all to the bus stop on time.
I have been doing something I haven't done in a long time-scrapbooking! I thought I'd share my Christmas layouts. If you click on the layout you should be able to read the journaling if you're so inclined. Happy New Year!
