Separate Weekends....

It's a well known fact that Jared likes his "guy" time and several times a year he goes off with his friends. This weekend was one of those.

We stayed home and did a lot of Spring cleaning, some fun cooking, and I even took the kids to a Utah Flash game, which they completely loved.

On Thursday Paige came home from school with 2 Utah Flash tickets for Saturday's game. At first I said no. Jared had just left that morning, and the thought of trying to park the car and find our way through the crowd to our seats was a little much for me (if you know me I really hate crowds, I am very claustrophobic). So I told Paige no and tried to leave it at that. But she is a very persuasive 7 year old and promised she would be a very good girl over the weekend. She even promised to clean her room, so I finally gave in. Since we only had 2 tickets and there are 4 of us I called the box office. Our tickets were for general admission seating, but the box office said that I could upgrade for just $5 a ticket. I thought that was a good deal.

Friday I took the day off work. MaKady and Paige went to school and Lucas and I spent most of the day playing trucks and ball and I cleaned while he took his naps (he takes 2 naps during the day).

On Saturday Paige had a primary activity, then we helped clean the church and we made marshmellow easter eggs (you can check my food blog for the recipe). Saturday night I took the kids to the Utah Flash game. It was so much fun. MaKady and Lucas sat and cheered and loved the game. Paige mostly liked the dancers and she was always really concerned where the Utah Flash Fox was. She was so mad that he kept ignoring her and talking to all of the other kids. Finally I waved him down and he came over and shook her hand, she was in heaven. Also she kept having to go to the bathroom. I'm not sure if she was nervous or what, but I seriously took her to the bathroom 4 times in 90 minutes. Our tickets were pretty good too. We sat on the front row. We loved it. It is definately something we will try again, but maybe next time Jared will come with us.

Sunday we went to church and Jared got home Sunday night. It was a fast, fun weekend.

The kids easter eggs after they dipped them in chocolate and decorated them with frosting.

Meanwhile in Las Vegas:

Jared spent his weekend with his best buddy Trent at "Mopars at the Strip". It's something he does every year. When we lived in Las Vegas he worked for Phil. A few years ago Phil started doing this show and every year Jared goes down and helps out. He is usually in the ticket booth selling tickets or at the gate checking passes. It's fun for him, and I prefer to stay home. Maybe one of these times I will go, but... Anyway enjoy all the pictures he took.

Happy Anniversary

I can't believe it's been a whole year since my little sister Tabi and her hubby Kole got married. This year has just flown by.

Last year on March 20-21 I was standing in Kole's mom's kitchen in Kanab, with a new baby sleeping in his car seat, while Tabi and I where busy making a wedding cake. Her wedding cake to be exact. I can still remember every detail of her wedding weekend, even the part about my niece pooping in the hotel swimming pool. (haha, I'm going to be using that story as a way to embarrass her when she is a teenager). We had such a fun time. We are so happy that Kole joined our family.

This year Kole had a class for his National Guard at Camp Williams so Tabi brought the top of the cake, that has been in her freezer for a whole year, and we celebrated with her. It was disgusting (the cake I mean) but what can you expect from a year old cake. My year old wedding cake was nasty too, as I'm sure most of yours were. But we ate it anyway and the girls thought it was soooo cool.

Congratulations Tabi and Kole, we love you!!!

Farm Country

Rain. Snow. Rain. Snow.....But it's Saturday and we were sick of being cooped up in the house, so we called my parents and they met us at Thanksgiving Point. Our plan today was to go to Farm Country and see the animals. dislaimer-for some reason I had it in my mind, that the huge red barn at Thanksgiving Point was Farm Country and that is was a giant barn full of animals-I was wrong. Farm Country is actually in the little barn and outside pens behind the big red barn. Hmmmm, I think I was definately mislead... Anyway, we got there and there were a few little exhibits inside the building and all the animals were outside. Did I mention it was raining/snowing?!! But we had a blast anyway. We were soaking wet by the end, but the kids loved all the animals, especially the babies - cows, bunnies, and chicks, so cute. The girls even got a pony ride. After that we went and had lunch at El Pollo Loco. It was so much fun hanging out with my parents today. So glad we ventured out in this weather!!

Dr. Seuss

Last week Paige's school celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday. They had little activities all week and then on Friday they got to dress up like their favorite Dr. Seuss character. Paige choose Cindy Lou Who. We used a small plastic orange to prop her hair up (because her hair is too thin to use a cup) and she had a cute little hair do. Paige thought is was so funny that Jared kept calling her "Paigey Lou Who."

Swimming at Snow College

On Saturday we headed on over to Ephraim to go swimming at Snow College with Jared's family for our nephew Cohlyer's 3rd birthday. It was a lot of fun. Jared and the kids swam and I sat out and watched. It was a lot of fun just hanging out.

Lucas loves the water all of a sudden. There are some days that he even gets 2 baths.

Cohlyer didn't want to wear the pirate eye patch, so this is part of the fit he threw until they finally let him take it off. Little stinker!!
