Happy Birthday Gunnar!!

Well, Saturday was Gunnar's 2nd birthday! Both Kaedynce and Gunnar were a bit under the weather, so we did not celebrate his birthday until this evening. It was our Family Home Evening :)
Gunnar is such a grown up two year old in so many ways, but still my baby in so many ways as well.
I wish they would stay small, longer....

I really need to update my blog, and post some pictures. But, for now, here is a link to my facebook page where I did post some birthday pictures:

Okay, Okay...

Well, I can't believe it has been that long since my last post.... Oh waite, yes I can!! So sorry!!
Our vacation went well. The kids had a GREAT time, and I am pretty sure the grandparents did too! It was very relaxing, and a lot of fun.
We walked on the beach, during low tide and found all kinds of sea shells... Kaedynce wanted every one of them. We spotted some baby crabs and fish. Even a little flounder. And, when Grandma Pitcher went out on the sand with us, we even found a big live crab. I was bare foot and made the comment to my mom that that rock looked a little different and I was not going to touch it bare foot, so my mom bent down and grabbed it with her finger.... Yep, she even let out a little scream.... Good thing Grant was there to gather the crab and take it to safety!
We had great weather considering the time we were there. The forecast was for rain every day, but the weatherman was wrong (like that ever happens).
I found a bead store there and was able to make a couple different watch bands for my niece, Aurora, for her graduation gift. I also made a band for both Grandmas. Happy Mother's Day!!
Loved that bead store.... but not sure I want to make that drive again just to go there.
We go on vacation again, just our family this time. We leave in a couple weeks. We are going to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I have never been there.... I have heard it is a nice place and will be nice and warm this time of year. I am anxious for that. The rain, wind, freezing nights and snow have gotten OLD!!!
I have almost half my garden planted. Hard to do between rain storms and demanding children. I have learned it is pointless to try and reason with a three year old... Yet, for some reason, I still try...
Our yard work project that started late last summer is gaining ground!! The deck is almost complete!! Just a few boards, steps, and a railing. Then the fun part: sanding and staining... Any takers?
I have flowers ready to plant in flower beds, not yet made, around the deck and area. Lots of clean up, landscaping, and care still needed in our back yard. I am so anxious for a barbeque with friends and neighbors!
Well, I will try to post pictures before too long from our vacation. No promises....

Almost There!!

It is almost time for vacation! Kaedynce is so excited to go on vacation and see her grandparents. She has been asking for a couple weeks now to go see Grandma... Once I told her we were going on vacation with them, she keeps asking when we are leaving. Yesterday we were running some errands, and every time we stopped the car she asked if we were on vacation yet... So cute! So hard for a three year old to understand that it is still a week away.
We have been working in our yard these last couple weeks and have almost got the garden bed finished. We have already planted strawberries and asparagus. We also planted two cherry trees (bing and black tartarian), and purchased an Elberta peach tree yesterday and hope to plant it tomorrow. The kids have had so much fun playing out in the yard and in the garden. I gave the kids a bath the other night, and after putting them to bed drained the tub. There was so much dirt residue in the tub... YUCK! Gunnar fell in one of the tree holes the other day. He didn't get hurt, but did get covered in mud. He is such a boy, through and through.... He is into everything and has no sense of fear or boundary.
I have been contemplating going to school. I am considering cosmetology school, because it is something I can do for the rest of my life, and I can do it from home as well. I was considering night school, and could be done in almost 2 years, but it would be tough, and long days. I wouldn't see my kids much. I would be working from 7am -4pm, then go to school from 5pm - 10pm, all Monday through Friday. Yikes!! So, Grant and I have discussed it and are thinking of waiting a year. Grant should be finished with the overnight shift he is currently doing, and I could step down and possibly go to part time and work evenings, or overnights. That way I could go to school full time, during the day, and see my family most evenings.
So, that is what has been in the works with our home and family these last few weeks. Not much more to update, but will be posting again soon!! Will have pictures, and lots to write about after vacation!

Update...

Well, it has been a while since my last post. I figured it was time for an update!!
I have failed on my Project 52... I will have to try again some other time. As for my other resolutions, I am still going strong! Haven't stepped on a scale, but am working on eating better and exercising more. That is heading in the right direction! Hopefully the pounds will start disappearing!
Work has been incredibly stressful! We are still trying to get used to Grant working overnights. My store inventories in a couple weeks, which will be SOOO nice to have overwith, and Grant's club inventories a month later. Ugh!!
The weather has warmed up and really starting to show signs of Spring! I plan on starting some of my garden plants here in the next few days. That time of year is fast approaching!
The kids are doing great and growing up so fast! Kaedynce has started preschool, three days a week at our daycare. She LOVES "school"!! I hope that spirit and love lasts! She is so excited to learn about her ABC's. She is doing so well.
It has been a while since my last post, but really nothing too exciting going on... Just staying incredibly busy with our lives! Loving life, and the shoes we are wearing... Wouldn't change a thing!

Resolutions Not Yet Broken....

So, I made a resolution at the beginning of this year to get into shape and loose weight... Well, I just got my gym membership, so time to get serious! Signed up at Gold's Gym yesterday, and have two complimentary visits with a personal trainer... Hoping to schedule one, if not both for this weekend!
I am truly looking forward to becoming more active and getting into shape!!

What is New with Us:
Well, Grant is the Overnight Assistant Manager at Sam's right now. He has been doing this for a couple weeks now and is still getting used to it. He tries to keep the kids at home, and does for the most part, but isn't getting much sleep... So, at least once a week they go over to daycare. Hopefully he will adjust to this and get into a routine that works!!
Tiffany is setting all her Garden Center modulars and product. She is getting ready for Spring, but wonders if it will ever come...
Kaedynce is getting smarter and smarter every day, and is such a great big sister!! She is so good to Gunnar, and takes such good care of him! It is really cute to watch her play the "Little Mom/Big Sister" role...
Gunnar is mimicing EVERYTHING you say now days, and getting more and more talketive. He is climbing on everything as well!! Just the other day, he was kneeling on the top of Kaedynce's vanity playing with the light above the mirror. I am beginning to wonder if a fenced yard will keep him contained this Summer... 6 feet may not be tall enough... Ha ha ha!

Project 52 - Week 6

So, I am a little behind and have posts to do to catch up... I have the pictures, they are just on the card in the camera. Tonight before Grant left for work, he took this picture with his phone and e-mailed it to me. So, that is the reason I am posting this tonight! I promise, I will get caught up!!

I am thankful for our cell phones!! They are so useful, and have taken so many pictures for us when our camera is not easily accessible.

No more Monkeys Jumping on the Bed

I was sick, and off work the week before last, and last week I went back to work and did the night shift. Boy am I glad to have that overwith! I still have a miserable cough, and I wish it would go away!!
We went to Boise last weekend and had family pictures taken. I haven't really looked at them too closely, but am pretty sure there are some cute ones... Garrett does an awesome job as always! I have ordered vinyl lettering for my walls and can't waite for it to get here!! I have some ideaas I want to do with it and the pictures. I will have to paint some walls as well... All in good time :)
Gunnar has such a cute yet evil smile most of the time... He is a master of climbing!!! Earlier today Kaedynce came to the other room and told me that Gunnar had the remote. I was upset with her for giving it to him, yet when I came around the corner, Gunnar was up ontop of a box on top of the couch with the tv remote in one hand and the dvd remote in the other... I never had to worry about that kind of thing with Kaedynce, how do you baby proof a house from someone like Gunnar??!?!
Grant suggested changing Gunnar's crib into the toddler bed... I kind of like the "cage" factor right now. Grant told me it won't be long till he climbs out of his crib, which, that is SO true!! Gunnar still loves his tools and always has something he shouldn't have in each hand with a "death grip" attatched to it!
The other crazy thing he did today, climbing of course... He loves to play in his sister's room! He climbs up on her bed, stands up and bounces. I can picture the day, "Momma calls the doctor...."
Kaedynce is growing so fast, she seems to have grown taller since yesterday... Wow, what a sweet little girl! This morning it was so cute, Grant had turned on the tv and the movie "Wall-e" for Gunnar. Kaedynce woke up, went out to the living room, then came back to our room all upset and told us "I watched Wall-e last year!!!!" Grant and I couldn't help but laugh! (She did watch it last night, so we are pretty sure that is what she meant...)
I am getting Spring Fever, or Cabin Fever, or maybe a little of both... I am so excited for this Spring and Summer so that I can put the kids outside and we can play in the yard! I am excited to get my deck finished and my garden area done!! Oh, this snow and cold weather need to go away!
Well, I had better get going, Gunnar has shut the door with him and I in the room... He smells quite "rosey"... Time for a diaper change!!
