have $$$ will travel

guess it has been a while since the last post..winter break has ended, and now here's antoher crazy yet fun semester of physio, physics, and more anatomy (think dead bodies?!). winter break was great, went travel abit ard aus and had a really great time :)

it was fun to visit amanda over at adelaide, hanging out, teasing and annoying her (as usual), and also strolling at glenelg beach, walkways along the city myself which make my trip there some sort of a different experience, because i was overwhelmed by the architecture of the buildings, the whole greenery and at the same time, trying to believe that im actually stepping on south australian territory. had the best chocolate drink at Bracegirdle at adelaide.

and then our adeventure stretched to sydney, which is quite different from what we all expect. the must-see attractions are nice, like the opera house , darling harbour, bondi beach etc, but on the streets you feel as if you are in chinatown or asian village, because there are far more asians than aussies there. stayed at this hostel near chinatown, which we tnhought was safe because asian shops open till really late and it is generally more crowded in that area than elsewhere, and it is in the city so we saved some on transport as well! so bear that in mind in future when travelling, stay near city!! we walked ALOT during our 5 days there and ate so much fish and chips than in the past 5 mths over in aus, because we concluded that we are seafood-deprived haha. and introduced amanda to FUDGE, so sweet that you can get diabetes but too delicious to even care :X met dawn, kelly and mathew for our 14-hr train ride back to brisbane, which was not too bad. we spent half the time playing bridge before trying to get into comfortable position to sleep. all the effort to save some money hahaa

and finally after 3 days back in brisbane, took a flight to melbourne ot meet my mummy :D had a great time with her though she nags far too much, perhaps because i havent hear her for the past mths, so her nagging seem excessive. stayed at ling's and girl's place for abt 2 wks, when msot of the time they were not at home, so we practically had the whole house by ourselves. melbourne is very pretty, looks similar to adelaide but definitely bigger. food is very very good over there too, tried many different kinds of cusines, chinese, greek, turkish, lebanese, italian and all and i absolutely love lebanese cheese pies and italian wood fired pizza! there were lots of cakes and pies too, and as a result i packed additional 2 kg back to brisbane after the trip hahaa. and im grateful that girl (my cousin) drove us to dandenongs and ulu places to explore and that ling and jon join us too, so it was a really good trip

so much stuff in the past month, this is how i spent my winter break. now im BROKE haha. all right, CIAO

it's a good day
spend my night calling friends whom i haven been actually talking to for some time, most of the time msn keeps all of us connected but it's good to be able to hear each other's voice and feel as if we are all back to the good old days :D suddenly i miss home and wonder if this is where i want to be, sometimes i feel like shouting at every single person who annoy me but my ego is pulling me back. im still adapting to changes, though not in my favour but i hate to admit it and yea i do lots of self-talk to stay strong

oh well it's still a good day today
its winter now and there's mist in the morning
im so fascinated by it because its finally winter, 1 more mth to hols, adelaide, sydney, melbourne and mummy :D

phewwww

finally have the time to write a decent post after these few weeks

was quite busy with post exams celebration ( which wasnt exactly an exam acty cos there's no holidays after that) but it has all come to an end :S and now its the beginning of another season of intensive studying. got back results for the exams, not a bad start i would say. but need to be really consistent in order to do well cos this is only a small percentage

exam timetable is out, my last paper is on the 23rd june :D and the first paper is anatomy! which is rather good because it's probably one of the toughest paper ever. check out the grace-physio gang ( i attend sch with them everyday )

anyway forget abt the boring stuff, the fun stuff i did over the few wkends!
went shopping at harbourtown, with su, which was OMG i think all girls will love it cos its cheap (relatively to signapore), got a pair of hush puppies pumps for 10 bucks, and $2 shorts and $5 hoodie and another pair of shorts. wonder why i bought so many shorts when its getting cold now, but they are just too good to resist! su bought a number of stuff, of which the $15 ninewest heels and $10 dress were the best bargains ever. too bad i dont have the chance to wear heels here, otherwise i wld be going broke cos ninewest heels were priced equivalent to charles and keith?! so heres the picture of a happy girl

there was bandfest at international house, and grace college got 2nd! they were really awesome and too good, our lead singer even got the best overall performer :D its acty one of the few intercollege social events i attend because w/o the drinking its not very 'social' for us.

visited west end market on saturday and cooked a light meal for lunch :D the market is pretty nice and the fresh products are cheap -cheap things make my smile hahaha. and i found wholesale macadamia nuts :DDD while su found her 70cents advocados, so yea west end is officially our favourite shopping area. no more harbourtown.....for now

theres a case of swine flu over, hopefully it will clear soon :S its terrifying to live in the world with so much uncertainties, thats why i always have plans HAH but yea lets hope the pigs get happy and bring their bugs away. and i feel that im getting fairer and fatter too. maybe white = wide, oh well, be my judge, i really dont want to pack extra kilos back in nov :S

exams are fianlly over!
ok its just mid-sem, so still have school not like in singapore when everyone is almost done with freshman year. but yea, had a physio test ytd and an anatomy test today which was so mindboggling, energy demanding. theres 55 stations and 55 qns, and each qns has 2 parts to it, so that makes it 110 qns, and we are given 1minute for each station to answer the qns so yea, try to imagine the poor me trying to identify the muscle/nerve/bone and then thinking of their fucntion and actions all in 1 minute!! glad its over, and i hope i can do well, cos i can do most of it, but definitely not all of it and yea....
physio was alrite, not very confident because didnt have time to write the last qns, which was 10 marks essay. 20qns makes up 30 marks, and then the last 3 qns is 10 marks each, so i was like rushing throughout the 1 hour. hahaha ok just realise its almost 1 mark/min!

enough of exams, now its back to normal school, which is more STUDYING ! looking forwad to the long wkend already, cos monday is labour day and its bandfest on friday :DDD ok back to doing my assignemnt, need to hand up the portfolio before i have my well-deserved break

Fraser Island :DD

im back from my overseas trip at fraser island. its an awesome place its SOOOO beautiful and therefore we were lost in the paradise most of the time, because we cant believe such places exist! and yea, anyway a brief introduction, fraser island is a world listed heritage biggest sand island and theres no roads, just sand on it, so we have to travel on a 4wheel jeep, bumpy rides and all. glad that we sign up for a tour because initially we had a wild idea of doing free and easy to save money, hahaha if we had gone ahead i think we would have been crying already!! so 6 of us, and another 2 american and 2 korean excahnge students set off for an amazing adventure on early good friday.

took ard 4-5 hours to the island, stop over at rainbow beach which got its name because of the coloured sands that give its 7 different colours, but we couldnt tell, perhaps not imaginative enough. then went on to the ferry which brought us to fraser island :D our first stop after settling down at camp site was this creek, which has crocodile traps, crabs, lots of mud and stuff. there were many many mozzies and sand flies chasing us and we had fun laughing at su and kelly who were stuck in their mud. then went to lake boomajin, initially we thought it was a dirty lake, because the water is brown, but found out is acty the t3 oil, which is good for complexion! went back to the campsite, had dinner and then sat under the stars in the night. OH btw, we slept in the tent, so yea this is totally an eco tour hahaha

picture of the beach, this is taken from the car, and its just a small part of the long beach! imagine standing there!!!!

taken at lake birabeen, look at the clear water and mountain behind us!

day2 - woke up early, head to the famous 75 mile surf beach by ourselves after grabbing some breakfast. THE BEACH IS DAMN NICE, theres like no end, its a big piece of sea, the blue sky above it, with creamy clouds in btween, waves are huge and water is clear, itsjust so pretty, i dont know how to describe. i hav never seen such a big beautiful sea before so yea, try to imagine hahah. and thats paradise no.1. after that we headed to lake birabeen, the largest on the island and took a swim there because we cant resist the water. its different from sea because theres no wave, and the water is so much clearer, theres 3 shades of blue in the lake and yea that makes paradise no.2. went for a hike before lunch but didnt really take note of the plants and greenery ard, because i was famished, and my mind is all blue with water hahah. after lunch, went the most famous lake on the island -lake mackenzie, and yea its really the best and the nicest lake, though the water and stuff looks almost the same as lake birabeen, but the surroudings much nicer, so went for the second swim of the day in no.3 paradise :D visited another lake, which is much much smaller, its very special because the water is crystal green and a perfect place for couples hahah

and so thats the group and the car which got stuck and the beautiful sea behind us

on our way back, we were rather 'lucky' because our jeep sank into the sand and we all had to dig and push it out of it, and according to our guide, Michael, it was his first time getting stuck so we were very lucky to expereince more in our 3day adventure, so yea its pretty cool to really get down and push. got back to the camp site safely, shower, eat and then stayed in our tent and crap haha..

day3- went back to the beach again because its our last day and its just so nice we cant bear to leave without taking a last look at it. head to lake wabby, which requires us to hike in the bushes and desert for 5km back and fro, so it was like a 3 day diet trip for us because we walked so much and get hungry all the time hahaha. yea so that was the last lake and place we visited for the day before heading back home! so all in all it was really an eyeopener for me, and all of us, because there are places so nice and awaiting for us to explore!

so now im back, hopefully there will be more adventure! and im thinking of the hongkong trip last yr during this period of time too! ITS BEEN A YEAR ( since hq puke 8times at ocean park) hahhaha

taken at the desert, it was so hot, but at the end we saw the lake. . ..

hahah in response to bek's request, i changed the template because i haev absolutely no idea ( and too lazy, no time) to find out how to add tag board etc.
eh acty every week's pretty much the same, because theres endless readings and stuyding. and new assignments coming up! cant wait for 9 april which is the last day of this term, and i will be going to fraser island during the easter wkend :) yea heard its a really nice and relaxing place listed under world's heritage, so yup looking forward to a short break before spending the rest of the hols sutyding for my mid terms :S and this coming 2 wks will be busy bsuy busy cos theres psychology report (DRAFT) and bio test!
its getting colder here! its like btw 19-26 degreess everyday and its pretty cool, but winter will only be 15 degrees ahaha and everyone can still wear flip flops and shorts which is goodddd because ever since i came here, i have been shorts and slippers everyday and not very keen to switch to long pants.

had this all college exchange event at The Fox which is a really big club/pub over here, but sadly most of the girls from our batch arent 18 so only a few of us went and it wasnt very fun. something interesting abt aussies is that they usually leave around 12, so by 1am the club will be empty, which happens to be the most crowded hour in singapore? yea and they drink more than they want to dance hahaha.
well other than celebrating xinyu's bdae at this indian restaurant ard the college vicinity, which tasted more authentic than the ones in singapore and its affordable! i probably spend half of my free time studying, a quarter of it looking at the mirror and the rest exercising and worrying abt eating too much at every meal HAHA
so yea, hopefully the comment thing work, otherwise too bad
