We attempted to cook a lobster on Valentine's Day, but ended up overcooking it (had a little problem with accidentally turning off the timer). We'd never done it before, so it was a fun adventure, but were glad we minimized the risk by having shrimp as well. (Definitely not as good as the lobster we had at the beach house with the Parkinson clan!) We also had cheese biscuits, a yummy salad, and homemade angel food cake with custard and fresh strawberries for dessert.
We've been struggling with picky eaters lately. Myra has pretty much lived off of hotdogs, chicken nuggets, and broccoli these past few months. She's even picky about desserts and will not eat cake and will more often than not take a bite out of a cookie and then spit it out. So, we've started reading Green Eggs and Ham, which has really encouraged the girls to try new things. For St. Patrick's day we made cilantro chicken, green rice, green jello, broccoli, and asparagus. The the girls were weary, but they decided to give it the 'Sam I Am' try, and at least tasted most of it. I've also decided to wean them off processed meats and have not been restocking our hot dog/chicken nugget supply. So, they'll either starve or, hopefully, move on to something a little healthier!
