We've got lots to catch up on but here is a preview of Cubby's birthday. We are so lucky to have him!

Meet Jojin [Joe-jin]

Lyla has a gift to come up with unique names for her babies. It's amazing how she does it. I ask her what her babies name is and without pausing for a second she'll say, "Oh this is Moc-Jox-Amada. And that one is Verla. And the other one is Dianadrope."

She does this all the time.

She also has a gift to make anything her baby or her friend. One of my personal favorites is Jojin. He, oh wait "she is a girl mom", is a piece of the blinds from the windows in our house. Jojin has been to church with us, is a regular in her little stroller, and even came on our family vacation.

So the other day I asked Lyla if I could take a picture with her and Jojin and she said, "No, not right now because she is sleeping but you can take one with me and Collie (her other blind)."

So this is Collie.

And this one is Jojin. Luckily, Jojin woke up for pictures.

And here they are together.

She will talk with them for the longest time. I wish I knew what she was saying here.

One last one.
I love her imagination. Collie and Jojin along with "Shakes-moc-adoodle," "Curla," and the rest of her babies are keeping us very entertained.

Field trip

We went on another field trip with Joy School. This one was to the fire station. One thing I didn't mention about our last field trip with the 15 passenger was our encounter with a swarm of bees. A HUGE swarm. Hundreds. Maybe thousands. OK, more like a million! Anyway, we were standing on the top of a hill playing with the parachute when all of a sudden we heard a buzzing sound that kept getting louder and louder. Then one of the moms started to yell, "RUN, RUN TO THE CAR!!, Take the kids and RUN!" Meanwhile the swarm came right over the hill in the middle of where all of us were in a huge glob. We were in the middle of them for a second before it registered what was happening and then we started to run! We got out of their way but that could have been very bad. Luckily no one was stung. Not even once. But they did get our hearts racing for quite  awhile.

So back to the  fire station.

We got there and everything was going well.

The firemen were really nice and great with the kids.

The kids were a little scared but seemed to like it ok. We got a tour and got some great instruction.

Everyone had their turn sitting in the truck.

And on the truck.

Then we gave them the brownies we made to say thank you and it was time to leave.
But after we had buckled the kids into their car seats there was another firemen working on a truck parked right behind us. He somehow lost his footing and fell onto his back. Unfortunately, he was hurt pretty badly and we needed to wait for him to be carried away on a stretcher and an ambulance came. We don't know yet what exactly happened but we hope he is OK.

With the bees and a hurt fireman, maybe we should take a break from field trips for a while.

But on a brighter note, it was Western Day at school for McKay that day and I think he looked so cute!

Stitches

Lyla got her stitches out. All 2 of them. Here she is leading up to it.

Family Picture

We have been meaning to take a picture with all of us in it since Bennett was born and this is all we have to show for it. This was the Sunday after St. Patrick's day right after church before everyone ran upstairs to change clothes. We kept the green thing going. Lyla even had a green band-aid over her eye. I keep waiting for that perfect moment to get everyone together and get the perfect family picture but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon so I am happy with this.  Happy belated St. Patrick's Day!
