Naval Base Primary Football Fiesta

Naval Base Primary Football Fiesta. Boys playing together for the first time (mostly). A slow start, but consistency in the quality of performances meant that in the end, the boys surprised even themselves with a runners - up finish in the League, averaging a healthy ratio of one goal a game too.

Apply yourself to the best of your ability, and you just might surprise even yourself.

I'm glad that the boys had this lesson as a takeaway from today.

2Touch 5v5 Fiesta, with the U9 team. Credit to the boys for a strong finish after a sluggish start, with a recovery belying their tender age.

In the end, the boys did rue their performance in the second game, especially considering that team went on to win the competition (against our first opponents).

But in looking at the bigger picture, what was more important for me was that the players realised that they could play at a good level of football, and more importantly, that they could only reach such levels by playing to the best of their capabilities.

Such a mindset will definitely put them in good stead for anything they endeavour in the future.
