HAPPY 21ST TO DANIEL

It was BBQ night at Dan's place on Saturday. Its to celebrate his birthday as well
as him going in to NS. Well, there wasn't a cake so I guess its the company that
matters.

I met Daus and March earlier in the afternoon to get Dan's present(s). We thought since we were rather low on cash and we have all been rather busy lately, we couldn't get him a nice expensive Manchester United jersey. HAHA! Sorry Dan...

Dan needed someone to accompany him to Turf City to get some other stuff(which were optional) BUT everyone didn't seem to be available. Funny that it didn't occur to him that we might be hatching a plot. Well, technically, Ian had driving lessons, Ruz was working till 7pm, Vincent probably was working too, and I was just 'busy'. I think Dan thought I had to prepare the food but I had already done so on Thursday night. We were down at Ikea getting him things like cushions and moderately essential stuff like a cool lamp and a lint roller. We thought we get him 21 items since its his 21st birthday. I think we all agreed that the 21st item was the best. HAHA!

Yeap! Its a WHACK on the back from all the guys! The mark of 'friendship'!

If I'm not wrong, this distinct mark was from Daus. A thumbs-up there!

This is the last WHACK from Ruz. Ruz was in the toilet when the first few whacks were given. It wasn't over for Dan yet. Yeah, I just had to have that at the earlier part. I didn't get any photos of the 20 items we got him. Its all confidential...

We had to get back to my place from Ikea by 5pm. My family had another celebration to go to and they had to leave home by 5.30pm. I needed to use the car to transport the BBQ pit, the ice-box, some food as well as my friends. I drove to Dan's place along with my friends and my Dad. It was better for me to drive since I knew where Dan stays. I thought it was a good idea to have my Dad come along and take the car back instead of me having to drive back and make my way down to Dan's place again by public transport =/

We got all the stuff down to the place we were gonna have the BBQ by 6pm. Dan and Daus went to get drinks, ice and other items that we missed out while March and I started the fire. We started the fire a little too early. We had 'good fire' for 10 mins but couldn't start cooking anything cos Dan and Daus were not back with the stuff, more importantly, the wire gauze.

We started BBQing shortly after Dan and Daus returned. There was an old man that lingered around. Probably thought he could get some free stuff. Dan was a bit irritated at first but eventually got over it.

Nice amber glow from the BBQ! Dan showing off his abs and bbqing skills.

Now its Daus's turn.

OK! The foods done! Time to eat!

Finally a picture of me! It wasn't easy taking this shot. The left side of my body was really near to the BBQ!

Dan seems really happy that things are going well. The old man. He has a belly!

Ruz came around 9pm after his work. We cooked almost all the food except a box of beef steaks. I think theres about 8 pieces left. Ian and Vincent came around 11pm to join in the fun.

The picture on the left looks as though we are praying. HAHA!

It was really fun. There was even a mini-show put up for us to enjoy. There were a bunch of drunkards at the playground near to where we were having our BBQ. One man kept coming over thinking we might offer him some food but he was obviously so drunk and we didn't have any intention of sharing our food with anymore strangers so we chased him away. There was one time when he came to us, he tripped over a ledge and he hit his shoulder and face against a metal pillar. That was a classic! Ruz, Ian and Vincent weren't there yet so they missed it =( We decided to wrap things up (literally) around 12 and headed up to Dan's place. We were gonna have a Winning 11 mini tournament! Woo! It was really fun. Its almost like watching Euro 2008. We played till late but I slept at 3plus cos I was just too tired to go on.

In the middle of the night, the same bunch of drunkards were still going on making a nuisance of themselves. This man and his wife were shouting and scolding each other and woke the whole neighbourhood up. They even started throwing things out of the house! This time, Ian, Vincent and Ruz got to see it.

Ruz and I slept first all the way till 10am while the rest stayed up to watch TV and even went out for breakfast! Ian and Vincent left early the next morning while the rest stayed on.

Ruz and I left at 11. Ruz was sending me back to my place to get the car to transport the stuff back as well as fetch March and Daus home. When I got home, nobody was home. I panicked a little cos my Dad probably took the car and Dan had something to do at 12plus and he won't be home till late which means I can't take the stuff back. I soon realised that my family was at church. I decided to take a cab down, get the car and do what I was supposed to do.

I had to rush a little cos I only managed to get the car at 11.25 and I had to be back to pick up my family at 11.50. All the traffic lights were always red, so I was about 10mins late. It was really frustrating cos I had to go through at least 15 traffic lights!

I picked my family up then went to NUSS Club for lunch. It might also be the place where my parents will have their 25th wedding anniversary. We went grocery shopping at Carrefoure then headed back home. Sleep time.

Roslyn, I really miss you! I hope its been fun for you over at Bangkok. U should have just reached Hong Kong now. Please be careful and don't buy buy buy everything nice that you see. HAHA! 1.5 more days till you get back. I can't wait to see you. I wanna hear everything! Be safe and take care. I'll be waiting for you =)

Last but not least, we finally took a picture of our Driving License!

I'm at work now. Using the office com. I'm not suppose to be doing so to blog but I'm bored and I have already finished all my tasks for the next 3 days. My sup is not around (again) and won't be around for the next 3 days, including today. So that leaves with me more freedom, which I already have quite a lot of =) The only thing left which I can't do is to play games on the com. Ha! So anyway, I was reading a friend's blog and this particular sentence really got me thinking.

"I paid close attention to what I did, starting from the day of the thought itself."

Things don't just happen unless you want them to. Well, not all things can. Some things, a very small amount, happen under un-controlled circumstances. I personally feel we can make anything we want happen. Even if something that can be controlled happens, don't just stop what you are doing and end up with a 'then how'? Go around it, come over, under left or right, basically just get over it and move on. In short, adapt =)

Coming back to the sentence, if everyone really pays close attention to whatever they are doing and give their utmost care and concern, nothing BAD can go wrong. Well, everyone has there own definition of what BAD means. It really makes a lot of sense to me. Its almost the same as you are what you eat. Think about it, your life and the people and things around you are what you make of it from the very start. Its never too late to change even if something bad goes wrong. Theres always the small window of adaptibility and making or getting the most of what there is to offer =)

What a great way to end the day. Self-realisation helps one realise the many strengths and weaknesses of one's self.

Botak Jones with the guys last night. Really wished Ruz could have joined us but he said he wasn't in the mood and had work to do. He did say he would be at Hilltop so Dan and I went over to check it out on our way home.

I know I'm not supposed to be eating food like cajun chicken, cos of my stomach flu, but there wasn't really anything much to eat there. I did eat it without the salsa. I'm not suppose to eat spicy, oily, fried food and fruits. It would just make my stomach worse. True enough, it was a lil painful after dinner but it wasn't as bad as yesterday(tuesday) night. We hung around and play cards till 10 then Dan and I went to look Ruz up at Hilltop. He was sad, bothered. I guess he isn't ready to talk about it yet??? We left when Roslyn was reaching Bishan. Was gonna meet her to go home together.

She ended rather late today. 10.30pm. Some days she would end really early like 9.30 cos all the brownies are sold out. YEAH! They are really good! Please head down to Dhoby Xchange, P.Osh to get some brownies! HAHA! After that, I accompanied her at her place till her hair dried after she showered then went home. It was about 1am when I left.

Then when I woke up this morning, I woke with a bad bad headache. Luckily I was smart enough to get MC for today. Hope I get better by tomorrow. Alright... Rest time...
