Coach Thank You Card

Although I have the goal of completing ten scrapbook layouts this month, I keep having to pause and create cards, so we will see how many layout I get done. Here is another card, this time the group card from my daughter’s softball team to their coach. Coach loves Starbucks, so I was tempted to make one of those cute coffee-themed cards, but I also wanted to play along with a few challenges that pulled me in another direction, so this is what I came up with.

And here is the card along with the embellished envelope:

Recipe:
My Game, Alphabet Solos "X", Thank You, Buddies - Joey, Starter Alphabet & Tickled Pink stamp sets
Capri, Honey Butter, Kraft & White Daisy cardstock
Capri. Honey & Sapphire ink
Sapphire baker's twine
3-D foam tape
CTMH Stripes embossing folder
Dot Fade stencil (Stampers Anonymous)
Cricut Artbooking cartridge: softballs
Cricut Artiste cartridge: heart, banner
Pattern: The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge May 2024

Challenges: Little Red Wagon #755 Create Your Own Background (I used a bunch of sports themed words/phrases to create a word cloud for my background); Word Power #5 (hopefully there are enough words on this card - LOL!); Color My Heart Color Dare #600 (the right hand column of Sapphire + Capri + Honey Butter was perfect for the school colors)

Tic Tac Toe Challenges #247 (used the diagonal with Dry embossing + Stenciling + Embellished envelope as well as the column with Twine + Scoring + Embellished envelope and the row with Stripes + Stenciling + Scoring)

BSF Thank You Cards

We just finished our year in Bible Study Fellowship and I wanted to give thank you cards to our teaching leader and my daughter's two leaders, but I had used all the ones in my card box. What's a girl to do? Well, get to work making some new ones, of course! I used basically the same supplies for two of the cards, but a whole different set for the third.

This card didn't follow any pattern. I had a scrap piece of patterned paper that had a hole cut in it, so I used that as my base and put another piece behind it.

I used card sketch #265 from Sketch-n-Scrap for this card.

And for this one, I used card sketch #756 from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Recipe (cards 1 & 2):
I Heart Us papers
Canary, Sweet Leaf, Mint, Raspberry, Slate & White Daisy cardstock
Pixie, Raspberry, Mint, Lagoon & Bluebird ink
ShinHan Touch Twin marker
Gold Metallics marker
Junebug Puffies stickers
Cricut Artbooking cartridge: sun
Cricut Artiste cartridge: thanks
Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge: scalloped border
Cricut Just Because cartridge: sheep, scalloped rectangle, thank ewe
Challenges: Cut It Up #303 die cut + sentiment (both cards); Tic Tac Toe Challenges #246 (used the middle column with butterflies + free + patterned papers for card 1 and the diagonal with flowers + free + die-cuts for card 2)

Recipe (card 3):
Inspirationals stamp set (SU)
Thank You stamp set
Life Delights papers
Chocolate, Blush, Craft & Colonial White cardstock
Chocolate & Blush ink
ShinHan Touch Twin markers
Clear embossing powder
Colonial White circle tag
Chocolate & Sweet Leaf ribbons
Pink & White heart brads (from my stash, source unknown)
Challenges: Let's Craft & Create #207 AG with optional Pretty Pink; Festive Friday #158 (used brown + pink + paper tearing)

Chalk It Up Cards

I'm still planning to post more layouts from my son's kindergarten ABC album, but I also had to create some teacher thank you cards this month. Since I haven't made a card in almost a year, my card box is looking pretty empty, so I decided to make 20 thank you cards using the Just Because card workshop in CTMH's Wishes card making book. I gave a few away before I had time to photograph them, but here are a few more I created.

Recipe:
Thank You, Say It in Style, AP Tags, A Little Everything, A Little Thanks and Kaboom stamp sets
Chalk It Up Level 2 papers
Lagoon, Sorbet, Flaxen, Black & White Daisy cardstock
Lagoon, Sorbet, Flaxen, Black, Whisper & Slate ink
Black & Honey markers
Sorbet ribbon
Black epoxy bubble
3-D foam tape
All the die-cuts were from my pile of left-overs, so I'm not sure what cartridges they come from.

Splendor Thank You Cards

I completed all my teacher cards yesterday (woohoo!) and am finishing up the support personnel cards today. I decided to make cards for my son's bus drivers who got him safely to and from school every day, plus I always thank the crossing guard who helps my other kids get across a busy street in front of the school. I started with a sketch from Retro Sketches, but I turned it upside down to create a little scene, and I made two variations of the same card. Can't decide which one I like more!

The bus driver card!

The crossing guard card!

For Always Thanks Card

Here's another For Always card, this time using the design from the Workshop on the Go cardmaking kit. I modified it slightly and used supplies I had on hand. To create the polka-dotted squares, I used the center of the balloon from the birthday stamp set that came with my Cricut Artiste collection. It was just big enough to cover the whole square!

Teacher Thank You Cards

Today was the last day of school for my boys, and I woke up with the dreaded sensation of having forgotten something. Sure enough, I had neglected to make teacher thank you cards. My morning was spent cranking out some cards, and then I zipped over to the schools to deliver them. They're pretty simple since I didn't have a lot of time to complete them, but I think the teachers liked them anyway.

Blue Ribbon, Noted Backgrounds & Thank You stamp sets
Typeset Level 2 papers
Creme Brulee, Barn Red, Juniper & Colonial White cardstock

Father's Day Card

The Heart 2 Heart challenge for this week was to make a Father's Day card using scraps, and since I needed to make a card for my dad anyway, I decided to give this a try. It really wasn't hard, once I decided which scraps to use! Coming up with an idea to top last year's card for my dad, now that was hard. I don't know that I succeeded (last year's perfectly embodied my dad), but I do like the result. I used the Overview pattern from Jeanette Lynton's Originals Card Confidence book, and I random stamped my background using the My Game and Just Be You stamp sets. My dad is really not into sports, but I was able to pick specific stamps from the set to emphasize life lessons that he has taught me. This would also be a fun idea for a graduation card.

The inside:

New Product Sneak Peak Blog Hop!

Welcome to our Close to My Heart New Product Blog Hop! Over 40 fabulous Close to my Heart consultants are celebrating the upcoming release of the Summer 2010 Idea Book by giving you a Sneak Peak of some of the great products available in the new Idea Book starting May 1st! If you have come here from Maranda's blog, you are on the right path!

This is simple do to- just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I decided to create a garden of cards using the Summer Wishes stamp set, found exclusively in the Splendor Workshops on the Go (WOTG) kit (item #G1009). I also used the Splendor Level 2 papers, which can be purchased as part of the WOTG kit or separately (X7124B). Using only two of the papers from the Splendor paper pack, I made three cards and have plenty of paper left over to create even more! I love using the back of these double sided papers. As you can see, the floral pattern paper has either a vibrant focal side or a muted background side. I can't wait to give these cards, and also to dig into the rest of my paper pack to create more cards and some layouts!

LOAD #11 - Pastor Appreciation Sunday

This is one busy layout! I picked out 15 photos from the many I took at the recent Pastor Appreciation tailgate party at church, and put them on the layout using the Fab 15 pattern. I didn't have much in the way of embellishments for this layout, so I did some alteration. I ran White Daisy embroidery floss over my Blush ink pad to turn it pink, and I dipped a pewter brad in Versamark ink then pink embossing powder before heat setting it to turn it pink. Now I'm off to make a quick card for my hubby. We're going out tonight to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary!

Recipe:
Alphabet Solos stamps A, C, D, E, I, N, O, P, R, S, T, U & Y
