Happy Mother's Day 2016 Layout for Lasting Memories

Lasting Memories' third Wedding Tradition-themed challenge this month is "something borrowed," and the idea behind it is quite clever: scraplift a layout created by one of the Lasting Memories design team. I knew I wanted to scrapbook some Mother's Day pictures, so I found something that would fit my photo sizes and also that had a cute design. I did have to adapt it a little, since I had one too many photos. Using foam tape, I popped up my 5" x 5" photo to create a pocket to hold a 4" x 6" photo that I trimmed down and placed on a tag. It also gave me an additional spot to write journaling, so a win all around! Please check out the Lasting Memories Design Team gallery here on Pinterest if you're interested in playing along with this fun challenge.

Here's my layout:

Here's the tag, both front and back:

And here's the layout I lifted (Hocus Pocus by Sandy Ross):

Mother's Day Card 2020

I needed to get my Mother's Day card for my mom in the mail today, so in between helping my kids with schoolwork, I managed to create this card. I'm not sure how slow the post office service is running, but hopefully it will reach her in time for her special day!
Recipe:
May Word Puzzle stamp set
Oh Happy Day paper (Simple Stories)
Lagoon, Crystal Blue, Canary, Pixie, Raspberry, Heavenly Blue, Kraft, Black & White Daisy cardstock
Lagoon, Crystal Blue & Toffee ink
Crystal Blue & Black markers
ShinHan Touch Twin markers - warm Greg & Golden Yellow
Raspberry baker's twine
Aqua & Flamingo enamel dots
Cricut Artistry cartridge: pink flowers
Cricut Simply Sweet cartridge: butterfly
Cricut Artiste cartridge: cloud
Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge: yellow flower, banner
Pattern: Stick It Down May card sketch
Challenges: Bitten by the Bug flowers challenge; Use Your Stuff #397 - flowers and/or butterflies; The Paper Girls #199 - Happy May inspiration (I was inspired by the circle and all the flowers. I actually started off with a circle of floral paper, but decided it was too busy with the die-cut flowers on it, so I moved it to the outside and used the center for a blue sky.)

Origami Dress Card

I recently ran across a video for making an origami dress, so I thought I would try it out. It was actually pretty easy, and I liked the result, so here's the card I made using it, plus I added the video so you can join in the fun! The Heart to Heart Challenge blog wanted us to share our Mother's Day projects and cards, and this card fit my mom perfectly, since she loves to sew and is a very talented seamstress.

Mom's Mini Calendar Part 1

I have been toying with the idea of making a calendar for my mom for Christmas, but every time I sat down to work on it, my inspiration flew out the window. Then I was surfing the CTMH consultant bulletin board on Friday and found a cute mini calendar by consultant Anne Chek that really looked do-able. Using her pages as a springboard, the first six pages came together really quickly for me. Thanks for the inspiration, Anne! I used the Animal Cookies Level 2 paper pack and the Animal Cookies Creative Basics on each page. I love the versatility of this pack, with colors that are perfect for a variety of holidays and themes. I'm still working on the other six months, but here's what I've completed so far.
