So excited to be asked to be a guest designer for Lasting Memories challenge blog this month! For their second May challenge, they asked us to use the "something new" portion of the wedding tradition. The newest product I have is the Smitten paper pack from Close to My Heart, so I combined that with some photos from my daughter's princess party. Seven Layout

It's Sunday, and that means another fun challenge from Lasting Memories! As their guest designer this month, I was quite challenged when they asked me to use watercolors, paints, and/or mists on my layout. This is totally out of my comfort zone, but I had recently stumbled across the technique of adding a pop of color to a stamped line image by brushing on some watercolor paint, so I tried that with my three cupcake circles. I then misted on top of that, and added white gel pen accents and an enamel dot to each one.
And I also misted the shape with the sub-title on it, but since it's hard to see in the full view of the layout, here's a close-up.
Recipe:
Cutie Pie, Fanfare & Hodgepodge Alphabet stamp sets
Dream Pop patterned papers & cardstock
Creme Brulee & White Daisy cardstock
Black ink
Black marker
White gel pen (Sakura)
ShinHan Touch Twin markers

Cat Party Card

My daughter asked for a cat party for her birthday, so the first step was making her invitations. I started with a cute card sketch from Atlantic Hearts challenge blog but, since I wanted to go vertical on my card base, I tightened up the design by moving the circles together. The card went through several revisions and I ended up simplifying it a bit because I just couldn't face hand cutting glitter tape for 30 cards (can anyone relate?) but I'm pretty happy with the final result!
Recipe:
Fanfare, Welcome Baby & One Way Borders stamp sets
Laughing Lola Level 2 papers
Slate, Whisper, Crystal Blue & White Daisy cardstock
Crystal Blue, Thistle & Black ink
Black & Gold Metallic markers
Purple Glitter Gem
Cricut Artistry cartridge: banner
Cricut Chore Chart cartridge: cat
Challenges: Bitten By the Bug 2 banner or sign challenge

Yummy Treat Layout

The Color My Heart Color Dare for the week was to use Sky, Blush, and Buttercup on our artwork. I thought it would be a fun color scheme for my ice cream photos. Just an FYI: CTMH's burlap ribbon looks great on almost any project, and isn't it the perfect texture for a waffle cone?

Recipe:
Fanfare WOTG stamp set
Sky, Blush, Buttercup, Chocolate & White Daisy cardstock
Blush, Buttercup & Desert Sand ink
Chocolate marker
Burlap ribbon
Pink Glitter Gems
3-D foam tape
Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge: scalloped circle, title

Week 23 Layout Linky + EMS Sketch Challenge 30 Part 2 - Make a Wish

As promised, here is an alternate look at EMS Sketch Challenge 30. The changes I made include the following:
1. I rotated the right hand page 180 degrees.
2. I reversed the pages.
3. I moved the journaling from the bottom of the page into a column next to the two smaller photos. This allowed me to add an additional 6x4 photo.
4. I moved the title to the bottom and added some embellishments to the place where the title previously was.
5. Instead of a large circle element, I have several smaller circles scattered around the layout.
I have more ideas for changing up this layout, so I'll try to get some more scrapped. Now, consider yourself challenged!

LOAD #23 - Happy Birthday Kaden

I couldn't find the perfect papers for this layout, so I decided to create my own. In the process, I also used the Variety Challenge from Split Coast Stampers: to create a monochromatic page. Mine uses shades of brown. This is harder than it sounds; I kept wanting to add red or blue to the mix! Hopefully the browns tone down the bright colors in the pictures. The layout didn't turn out quite how I hoped, but it will have to do! The pattern is Beauty in Repetition from Cherish.

Recipe:
Cocktail Alphabet, Friendship Alphabet Small, Fanfare, Holiday Hoopla, Thoughtful Seasons, A Little Everything, Boom, Happy Birthday & Celebrate the Everyday stamp sets
Kraft, Bamboo & White Daisy cardstock
