Family Always & Forever Layout

After a long hiatus, the Picture This challenge blog is back, so I really wanted to jump in and participate in at least one of their challenges this month. I decided to go with the Not So Picture Perfect challenge, because this photo of my family certainly fits the bill! In fact, it was a deciding factor in getting a new camera, since all the photos from this weekend, including my brother's wedding, turned out grainy and overexposed. I was so bummed, but I really wanted to scrapbook a photo of my family with two of my sibling and my parents, so I overlooked the poor picture quality and the fact that my dad is scowling, and used it anyway!

LOAD #13 - 4 Generations

Two posts in one day? What is the world coming to? LOL! As I mentioned on my previous post, I am trying to catch up on my LOAD, so here's another layout I cranked out this week but didn't post because of computer issues. For this one, I went back and used EMS Sketch 29. I also pulled out the stamp of the month from September (Limited Edition), and had some fun using it to create the tag and journaling box. Love that it only cost me $5. BTW, you really have to click on the picture and enlarge it to see the cute faces from the Family Ties stamp sets. Adorable!

Week 16 Layout Linky - Family Layout

Wow, week 16. . . This year is flying past! My latest layout uses pictures taken last fall, which seems like just yesterday. We were able to spend time with my SIL and her kids when they were in town. Doesn't that Mayberry paper make you want to smile? It's so cheerful and homey - love it. I used one page of the Charmed pattern from Magic and stamped images from the Family Ties stamp sets in order to recreate the people in the pictures. The images are partly paper-pieced and partly colored with watercolor pencils.

Detail of the little people:

Fishing Layout

I feel like I have been MIA on my blog for a week! Aren't thing supposed to calm down so we can take it easy during the summer? Not a chance in our home. I have been doing some scrapping, though, so here's my latest layout. I have no idea where that water paper came from (Creative Memories, perhaps?), but the rest is from CTMH. I just realized that the stamped fish on the left hand page looks like it's flying. I was going to draw some movement lines so it looked like it had jumped into the air, but I forgot. Too lazy now to re-scan it, so I guess you get a flying fish. LOL! Don't forget, you have until July 31 to leave a comment regarding your favorite piece of artwork from my blog, and I'll be picking a winner for blog candy on August 1.

Fun & Games Layout

Wow, it's been over 2 weeks since I last posted! My family spent Thanksgiving with my parents this year, so I didn't do any scrapbooking while I was gone. I did get to work on my Christmas cards, so I will post them when I'm finished. Now I'm finally ready to get back in the groove. I'll start out with this layout from Vacation Bible School. I just purchased the Family Ties Children stamp set, so I had to use it on this layout since it's all about kids! The scrapbook magazines keep telling me that decorative scissors are making a comeback, so I thought I'd try it on the edge of my two border strips. Not sure I love the results; what do you think?
