Chalk It Up Cards

I'm still planning to post more layouts from my son's kindergarten ABC album, but I also had to create some teacher thank you cards this month. Since I haven't made a card in almost a year, my card box is looking pretty empty, so I decided to make 20 thank you cards using the Just Because card workshop in CTMH's Wishes card making book. I gave a few away before I had time to photograph them, but here are a few more I created.

Recipe:
Thank You, Say It in Style, AP Tags, A Little Everything, A Little Thanks and Kaboom stamp sets
Chalk It Up Level 2 papers
Lagoon, Sorbet, Flaxen, Black & White Daisy cardstock
Lagoon, Sorbet, Flaxen, Black, Whisper & Slate ink
Black & Honey markers
Sorbet ribbon
Black epoxy bubble
3-D foam tape
All the die-cuts were from my pile of left-overs, so I'm not sure what cartridges they come from.

I'm working on cards for Part 2 of my Dotty for You workshop, so here's another simple but fun card. Lots of stamping on this one. Don't forget that if you purchase two stamp sets this month, you get a third one (of equal of lesser value) free!

32 Card Worshop Using Elemental

My mom recently asked me to create a bunch of cards to use for a business event, so I used a template designed by talented CTMH consultant Amber Hanson to come up with the following card set! I combined papers from the Elemental Level 2 pack with some random stamped paper, and threw in a bunch of shapes cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. I used a lot of different stamp sets and tried to list them all, but I may have missed a few.

Recipe:
Hooray Bouquet, Say It In Style, A Little Everything, AP Seasons, You and Me, It's Your Day, Jingle Borders & Holiday Hoopla stamp sets
Elemental Level 2 papers
Desert Sand, Pacifica, Sorbet, Cranberry, Craft & Colonial White cardstock

Sorbet ribbon
Creme Brulee grosgrain ribbon

Heart 2 Heart Birthday Challenge - Celebrate Layout

The Heart 2 Heart Challenge for this week was to create a project involving a kid's birthday. It could be a card, altered art, layout, whatever. I chose to do a layout from my son's 6th birthday party. It was just a family affair, with left-over cake from my mom's birthday the week before, but we still had a great time celebrating. I used Nuts About Sketches Week 172 for the design.

LOAD #23 - Happy Birthday Kaden

I couldn't find the perfect papers for this layout, so I decided to create my own. In the process, I also used the Variety Challenge from Split Coast Stampers: to create a monochromatic page. Mine uses shades of brown. This is harder than it sounds; I kept wanting to add red or blue to the mix! Hopefully the browns tone down the bright colors in the pictures. The layout didn't turn out quite how I hoped, but it will have to do! The pattern is Beauty in Repetition from Cherish.

Layout Linky #21 + LOAD #22 - Pool Party

The June issue of Scrapbooks Etc. had the cutest little banner on the cover, and I tried to scraplift it. Unfortunately, my letter stickers on the banner didn't show up well when I scanned the layout, but trust me, they look cute in real life! I created the sun using a cardstock circle that I stamped with a pattern, then I put the title and window charm on top, and finally I trimmed the outer edge into rays. Fun and not too difficult. The layout pattern is Mesmerize from Magic.

LOAD #4 - Happy Father's Day

I'm back from my amazing scrapbook retreat. Great food and three days of my favorite hobby; how can you beat that? I meant to have this layout posted earlier, but I was having problems with my internet connection. I can think of a million ways I would rather spend my day than trying to figure out what the internet phone tech is talking about, but at least it's fixed for now! Here's layout #4. This is one of those "not loving it but at least it's done" layouts. I'm sure I could add more stuff to it, but I decided to leave it for now.

LOAD #11 - Fisherman's Wharf

If all goes as planned, I should be up to my elbows in scrapping supplies when you read this. Yes, I'm still at the scrapbook weekend, and I'm looking forward to checking my blog when I return so I can see what you other busy bees have been up to. Post away, LOADers!

Monday evening, and I'm almost caught up with posting my layouts for the month! Here's one of my favorites so far this month. I especially had fun creating the fish on a line. I used the scalloped border from the "A Little Everything" stamp set and turned it upside down to create waves, and the fish is popped up above the waves using a 3-D foam square. The design is another Becky Higgin's sketch.

A Little Everything Card Workshop

A few friends are coming over tomorrow night to make cards. It's a small workshop, only four cards, but I know we'll have lots of fun. I really love the March Stamp of the Month, A Little Everything, and I think it is so versatile, so I decided to use it on all my cards. In the interest of keeping the cost down, I used mostly scraps, and I'm not using major embellishments, but I had fun with the Liquid Glass and Bitty Sparkles. I'm open to feedback, although I won't have a lot of time tomorrow to change anything, so please tell me if you have any minor tweaks that would improve the cards. Thanks to all the ladies who participated in the March SOTM Blog Hop. Their creativity totally inspired me! Special thanks to Annette Green for her Easter card, which was the basis for my Easter card.
