Willie Joe Dixon Sr.






Willie Joe Dixon Sr., 74, of Pocola, OK passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in Pocola.  Willie was born May 25, 1941 in Cedars, OK to Lit & Gertrude (Montgomery) Dixon.  He worked at Acme Brick.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Whonita;  son, Joe Jr.; sister, Elsie Mae Bunch and brother, Wayne Dixon.

Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Dixon of Pocola, OK; grandsons, Kevin Dixon of Pocola, Chase Dixon of Virginia and D'erek Fernandez of Pocola, OK; one great granddaughter, Dallas Dixon of Virginia;  daughter- in- law,  Cathi Dixon of  Fort Smith, AR; three young men he raised as sons, Sostane Brewer of  Ft. Smith, AR, Terrall Brewer of Pocola, OK & Jesus Pastor of Miami, FL; six sisters, Betty Bunch of  Spiro, OK, Lucille Wilson of  Ft. Smith, Birta Wilson, Virgal Reid, Darlene Carter & Rosie Rawlins all of Pocola;  brother, E. Pluribus Massey of Spiro, OK; aunt, Francis Whitmore of Pocola, OK;  numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Graveside service  will be 11 am, Monday, August 10, 2015 at Laird Cemetery, Pocola, OK.  Pallbearers will be James Bunch, Vernon Bunch Jr., Victor Dixon, Allen Ray Rogers, Freddie Cuble  and Charles Bunch.

The wake will be held on Sunday afternoon from 3-5 pm at the funeral home in Pocola, OK.

Okla Homer "TED" Duffle Jr.



Okla Homer Duffle Jr. "Ted", 82, of Panama, OK passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 in Muskogee, OK.  Ted was born August 22, 1932 in Midland, AR to Okla & Iva Rose (Boyd)  Duffle.  He was a veteran of the US Army & served in Korea.  He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.  Ted was a 32nd Degree Mason.  He worked for the US Forestry Dept.  He  was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Erma Amirkhanian and brother, Jimmy Duffle.

Survivors include his sisters, Agnes Pierce of Shady Point, OK & Betty Hopson of Bowie, TX; brothers, Johnny W. Duffle of Wichita Falls, TX and Carl W. Duffle of Austria; numerous nieces, nephews; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Private services will be held.

Edna Charlene Gilby



Edna Charlene Gilby, 69, of Pocola, OK passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in Fort Smith, AR.  Edna was born November 1, 1945 in Davison, OK to Charles Franklin & Edna Faye (Cotton) Keenan.  She worked for food service at Sparks hospital.  Edna was a member of Haven Heights Baptist Church, Ft. Smith.  She was married to James Gilby on February 26, 1965.  She was preceded in death by her parents; foster parents, Joe & Bonita Roskam and Tommie Roskam; sisters, Sherrie Revella & Joe Dean Hart; brothers, Charles, Kermit, Babe & Herman Keenan.



Survivors include her husband, James A. Gilby of the home; sons, Mark Gilby,  James  & Lacinda Gilby all of Quitman, AR; 4 grandchildren, Linsey Duggan, Kailee Gilby, Damion Zaste and Dakota Gilby; 1 great grandchild Mika Beau Duggan; sisters, Mildred Lowery of Lampases, TX, Kathy Bartling of Velma, AR; brothers, Earl Keenan of Duncan, OK, Ron Roskam of Dill City, OK, Jerry Roskam of Ardmore, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 10 am, Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Haven Heights Baptist Church, Ft. Smith, AR with Rev. Neal Prock and Ron Roskam officiating.  Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Pocola, OK.  Pallbearers will be James Gilby, Mark Gilby, Damion Zaste, Dakota Gilby, Dave Lovegrove, Dennis Brambl.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin "Big Bear" Willet, Keith Willet, Devon Romick and Larry Tutt.



The family will be at the funeral home in Pocola on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Vernon "Paul" "Greasy" Reed



Vernon "Paul" Reed, nicknamed 'Greasy', 72, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in Pocola, OK.  Paul was born April 16, 1943 in Spiro, OK to Everett & Bessie (Harold) Reed.  He was a brick layer.

Paul is survived by his brother, Wayne Reed of Oklahoma City, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Memorial services will be held 10 am, Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Old Bokoshe Cemetery Pavilion, Bokoshe, OK.

ALBERT SKELTON SR.


Albert Skelton Sr., 74, of  Shady Point, OK passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in Shady Point.  Albert was born October 5, 1940 in Poker Bend, OK to Russell  & Lois (Monks) Skelton.  He was a  member of the National Guard.  He retired  as a forklift operator at Rheem.  He was preceded in death by his father;  wife, Alma Jean Skelton and one brother, Edward.

Survivors include his wife, Bettey of the home; son, Albert Skelton Jr. of  Bokoshe, OK; 3 grandchildren, Jesse, Ethan, and Levi; mother, Lois (Skelton) Raymond of Spiro, OK; sister, Jeannie Johnson;  brother, Royce Skelton of Shady Point, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Family memorial services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Milton Cemetery, Milton, OK. 

JB STOCKTON


J.B. Stockton, 85, of Talihina, OK passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 in Talihina.  J.B. was born December 23, 1929 in LeFlore, OK.  He was a veteran of the US Army.

Survivors include his daughter, Charla Swafford of Talihina, OK; sons, Mike Stockton of Bridgeport, TX and Don Skelton of Denton, TX; extended family members, Sandra Haskins, Brandon Young, Wes Partin, Mandy Haskins & Seth Haskins; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Norma Cogburn and Maxine Kendell; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 10 am Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at LeFlore Cemetery Pavilion, LeFlore, OK  with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Burial will follow in LeFlore Cemetery, LeFlore, OK.  Pallbearers will be Jay Swafford, Glen Vaughn, Tony Swafford, Louie Roybal, Brandon Young, and Larry Marshall.

There will be visitation  at the Evans Chapel, Poteau from 8:30 - 9:30 am on Tuesday
