Fatty Fatty two by four!!!

I had to laugh the other day as I was trying to squeeze Jack into a onesie...here are the before and after pictures in the same striped onesie... This is Jack at about one week old.
And this is Jack at 7 weeks old... a little fatter do we think? We only serve cream at our house! I love how the snaps are fighting for their lives to stay together in this picture! I love fat babies!

First camping trip of the year! I was a little nervous about Jack because he is not a good sleeper, but he did great! Maybe because he also got his shots that day and I had him dosed up with Tylenol... I know we all look fabulous in this picture...pink candycane pants and all, but that's what camping is all about...dirt, marshmallows and pajamas!
I had been watching the weather for days because it had been so rainy, and for awhile the forecast was clear and hot... unfortunately, it changed and we enjoyed some of the stormiest, rainiest, thunderiest weather in 24 hours! This is a picture of some storm clouds rolling in on us as night fell. It was beautiful!

It rained all night...luckily Evan had waterproofed our tent the day before because it was WET!!! It was a nice pitter patter sound to keep the kids asleep though! In the morning, there was this great mist all around the mountains!

A great trip! Lots of fun eating S'mores, canoeing (inbetween the microbursts when we had to take refuge under the bowery) and getting dirty!

Swimming Lessons!

Clara and Henry got to take swimming lessons this summer- they totally loved it! I figured the boys are good enough now that if they fell in they could swim themselves out, so they didn't get to take lessons this year...which was nice because it would have been a mess trying to get 4 kids and a stroller through the showers and narrow hallways!

JACKOLLAGE

I got a little camera snappy with Jack because he was making all these funny faces, so here's Jack in his "Jackollage!"

Let the Summer Fun begin!!!

I'm totally quoting one of my friends when I say I live in the best neighborhood EVER!!! We have an awesome group of friends that get together and do fun stuff through the summer to keep our kids busy and ourselves sane! Our weekly schedule:

Monday: Park Day
Tuesday: Free Movies
Wednesday: Swimming
Thursday: Field Trips
Friday: School Worksheets and moms collapse from exhaustion!

This week we kicked off the summer with a trip to the International Peace Gardens in Salt Lake. It was pouring rain on us as we left Bountiful, and when we arrived at the garden, it stopped for one glorious hour so we could run and play and take pictures. Then as we got our lunches out, the torrential downpour resumed. We like to think the rain stopped just for us!
There were only 5 of us moms who could go this week, but between us all there were 20 kids. Yipes! And 15 of them were boys!!!

This picture is looking through a really long beautiful trellis with these awesome vines growing through it.

Of course the kids enjoyed climbing every tree, rock outcropping and statue they saw! We never saw any "Please keep off the..." signs, so we let them climb!

One faboulous day at the International Peace Gardens! I highly recommend it!
