We've had a grand ol' time enjoying a few family vacations this past month. We bought a canoe earlier this year and decided to give it a good workout this summer! So here we are on a few of our favorite vacations... Clara and Henry had fun in the sun and murky lake water at Payson Lakes where we camped a few nights with Mom and Dad and Liz and Jared.
For one of our Thursday field trips, we went to see the Kennecott Copper Mine. Apparently it is so huge it can be seen from space... it was pretty massive. Here's Henry and me posing at the mine lookout. The trucks there were so big that when the kids stood next to the tire, they looked like Hobbits. (See picture at top of post that I can't figure out how to move!) Next was a trip to Island Park where we have spent a week every year since I can remember. It's fun now to be the mom and watch my kids do all the things I used to do! We had a real nice treat this time...our friends the Portmann's own the "Diamond P" ranch just outside of Yellowstone and Aaron invited us over to ride some hosses and go to a rodeo!!! It was so fun! After I could walk normal again after rideing a very large horse, I took these cute pictures of the girls at the rodeo, dressed in their finest rodeo attire! Clara, cousin Macee and Aaron's daughter Madison. Gidde up little doggies!!!
Family photo at the RODEO! I haven't been to a rodeo in years...I screamed a lot and hid my face a lot, but hey- if those boys like to get bucked off angry cattle- that's their problem, right?
And what 's a trip to Yellowstone Park without a stop at Old Faithful, which obviously decided to stop spewing right when we got our picture snapped... Nonetheless...it was loads of fun! Until next year!
