Evan doing Yoga

Evan pulled out my yoga mat today and said "yoga" then unrolled it and started doing a downward dog. It was hillarious. He watches everything I do!

Our Chaty Kathy

Evan has been talking up a storm lately.. Here are few cute things he has been saying.

"one More" thats when he wants you to continue doing whatever it was you were doing.. reading to him, tickling him, playing outside. And he sticks his pointer finger up when he says it.

He loves lawnmowers and whenever he sees one or gets within 5 feet of the garage he just says "lawnmower" over and over again. Ryan walked past his room this morning before we had gotten him up and at the same time a loud truck drove by and Evan called out "lawnmower?!"

Evan got a new lion backpack and when ever ever we leave the house he goes into the laundry room and points at it and says "backpack" and waits for me to hand it to him.

Whenever I am on the phone Evan can tell when I am rapping up a conversation and just as I am getting ready to tell the person good bye he always yells out "BYE!"

18 months old

Our big man is 18 months old and we are having a blast!

-Evan still loves his Dougie(lovie) but he no longer has a passy as of this past weekend!
-He sleeps 11-12hours every nite and takes a 2hr nap in the afternoon.
-His favorite foods right now are cookies, apples, yogurt, cheese, chips ( which he rarely gets but knows what they are when he sees them), oatmeal, and his long time favorite mac and cheese.
-He loves to play outside especially in the front yard. I think he likes the front yard better because that is where he helps his Daddy and Grandpa Bob on projects.
- He says about 20 words and will say the first syllable of almost any word you ask him to say.
-He still uses sign language and is really great about signing please and thank you.
-He loves bath time and brushing his teeth.
-He counts to one (im not really sure if thats considered counting but hey..)
-He can make animal sounds for a sheep, duck, cow, lion, tiger, dog, cat and elephant.

Rachel's Visit

My sister Rachel who lives in California came and visited the week after we returned from Ohio. She has a 3.5yr old daughter Madeline and a 18month old son Jackson. We had a nice relaxing trip, we played around the house, got a sitter one night and went to dinner, put the kids in a daycare for the day and did some good old fashion Wegner girl shopping, and went to a park one day. The kids got along pretty well. Madeline is a super sweet big sister and always had Jack's back :) Ev did his best to share his toys and use his nice hands :)
The trip wasn't the same though without Sarah and her daughter Elise :(

Trip to Ohio

In April Evan and I took a trip up north to Ohio and Indiana. The purpose of our trip was to hang out with Evan's cousin Elise and my sister's husband Jason. While we were there we also visited with Jason's mom Donna (Grandma Donna), my Dad, my brother Will, his wife Susanne, and their new daughter Olivia.
We had a fabulous trip!! We did a few Easter Egg hunts, played at the park, went for walks, drove to Indiana to visit Will and his family, and went to the Zoo!!
We always have great visits to Ohio and look forward to our next one in August when Sarah returns from Iraq!!!!

Day at the Park

Today was a beautiful, 70 degrees, and sunny so Evan, myself, my friend Jamie and her 2 kids (Ava 2yrs and Henry 5months) headed to a local walking trail and park for some fun in the sand park, picnic, and a 2mile walk for the mom's. About a mile into the walking trail there is a playground. So we stopped there for the kids to play and to eat lunch. We had been there for about an hour and thats when it happened... my honey bunches (that would be Evan) fell and busted his lip on the metal park bench. He was screaming, blood was every where, and I was in slight freak out mode.. mostly because my car was about a mile away and the bleeding wouldn't stop... So long story short I approached some strangers for help in getting my car, one was a nurse and thought Ev would need stitches so we went to a local med clinic, they agreed he wuold need stitches but wouldn't be able to do it becuase they wouldn't be able to restrain him, so we headed to the ER, and to finish what was suppose to be a short story we did not get stitches! Which I was relieved but a little peeved at what our medical bills will be for the day. None the less I wont be second guessing myself tomorrow and wishing I would of taken him to the doctor.
Ev over all is doing great, he was upset after his afternoon nap and during dinner but I am sure he will feel much better tomorrow!

New Addition!

We have a new addition to our family! Quincy! He is a male Weimaraner we rescued from central Arkansas, they don't know much about him but that he was a stray. They think he is 5-6yrs old, he currently has heart worms and is on medicine and should get a good bill of health after his serious of treatments in 6-8wks. He is just a sweet heart. He is great with Evan, crate trained, and house broken. He is really calm and seems to interact great with strangers, kids, and other dogs. We just think he will be a great fit with our family and we are so excited.

Evan Matching

So today during Evan's nap I laminated some shapes in different colors and sizes so we could work on his shapes, colors, matching, sizes, sorting, etc. When he woke up from his nap we played with them. We started with matching first. And the very first time he got it. I was shocked!! We had never done anything like this before!! So we immediately did it again and this time I got it on video. I just can't believe how quickly they are learning at this age!!

Valentines Day

Ryan's parents were in town last weekend so Ryan and I got to enjoy a nice Valentines night out. Sunday morning the boys made heart shape pancakes. It was adorable watching Evan and Grandpa Bob in their matching plaid pj bottoms and navy shirts.

Last week Evan played with Play Doh for the first time. He was very excited and got the hang of it right away. I was shocked I figured there would be a lot of him trying to eat it, but there wasn't at all.

The other day Evan took all the lids out of the bottom of the stove drawer and then got inside and then proceed to put all the lids in there with him. He has a really mischeivious look on his face in the photo's.. not sure if you will be able to tell though.

That's My Boy!

Well Evan may look just like his father but he is definitely my son. He loves to clean, eat, put shoes on, and play with my makeup. Ryan has said several times he is worried about Ev's love for cleaning products and makeup :) Attached is a video of Evan helping me clean, he loves to get out the dry mop and clean under the couch for me. He sees me do this almost daily because the dust bunnies are so noticeable on our dark floors. Yesterday he dropped his cup of milk from his high chair and it spilled. I got a rag out and cleaned the floor. When he was done eating he went into the pantry got a rag and started cleaning the floor around his high chair. Then proceed to clean the windows. A few days ago I was putting on Evan's shoes and coat so we could go run errands. He ran to the back door and started hitting it to let me know he was ready. I told him "hold on mommy has to get her shoes on" he then ran into my closet and brought me a pair of boats and he was saying "shoe". Ev has been loving his food the last few days, I think he is going thru a little growing spurt. He was real upset the other day and I couldn't figure out what he wanted. So I said " Ev show me what you want" he ran into the kitchen and started hitting the frig door and then was reaching for the handle. He wanted another stick of cheese because I guess the stick of cheese and 2 graham crackers he had 10mins before that wasn't filling enough.

I have been slacking!, but I am back!

I feel like I haven't updated in forever! Lets see whats been going on..
Well we have gotten lots of snow. It snowed a few weeks ago and we got to go outside and play in it. Evan loved it!! Of course we don't have appropriate snow gear so we couldn't stay out too long, I think it was in the teens or twenty's that day. It snowed again about 8inches last weekend, but Ev was sick with another ear infection, so he didn't get to go out and play in it for a few days, when he did he just likes to walk out in the street and stomp on the snow puddles and eat icecycles.

Holiday Update!

Wow I can't believe I haven't updated on Thanksgiving or Christmas yet.. So for Thanksgiving we went to Ohio to visit my sister Sarah and her family. My sister Rachel and my Dad came in to visit as well. We had a really great time. Grandpa Mike bought shoes for all the kids, Evan got his real hard sole pair of shoes and its what he wears every day now.
For Christmas we went to Tennessee to visit Ryan's side of the family. Evan loves visiting his Grandpa Bob and Grandma Cheryl. While we were there we went to the Chattanooga Aquarium it was really nice. We wish we had things like that closer to where we lived.
Evan got tons of outdoor toys for Christmas-- Basketball Hoop, Sand/Water Table, Automatic Car, we we are really looking forward to warmer weather were we can enjoy all of them!
