There are 2 stages in my life. I call it, the Pre-PMR stage. And the Post-PMR stage.
*for those who are not Malaysians, PMR is a government exam meant to make us waste 1 whole year on studying things we would forget by now.
In history, we are thought on how Malaysia actually runs.... the ugly truth.
To allow you, my dear reader to even understand why I am making such uninteresting statements, let me allow you a glimpse into my childhood.
I've always been those kids who stood up when the national anthem played, the guys who listened to every single word our politicians mentioned. I was some patriotic jackass.
Then in Form 3, everything went wrong. I suppose the government had our education designed to instill " moral values, and a patriotic mind ". A whole book full of propaganda, which highlighted a really dumb issue.
Ketuanan Melayu.
* Tuan means master, so this term literally means " The Master-ness of the Malays"
**Before the ISA agents flies over to Melbourne and guns me down outside Koko Black (ok, they're government agents, not the Mafia. They dont gun ppl. See below for info on what they do to you) , I'd like to state that I dont have any sort of racial dislike towards the Malays and am not a threat to national security/unity.
Now, regarding history textbooks. It struck me how unfair the government was in a way. While I'm not going to elaborate on the contents, I would just say it made me sceptical about the government, and reading the newspapers never had been so fun...
Ijok
What the hell is all that fuss about Ijok. To be frank, I have never seen BN slinging mud at the Oppposition that fast. All those articles on thestar.com.MY makes me wonder what do politicians do in their free time. Do they really go out, and be the voice of the people, or do they use that time to create scams and scandals to boost their votes?
It may seem obvious now that my article has been nothing but a roller coaster ride. It flicks from one point to another. And doesnt really seem relavent . @.@
Main thing is, I have no idea how the government runs the country. From all what I can see, they spend their time :
- crushing and slinging mud at the Opposition, and using every single available newspaper to support their cause.
- raise issues on mundane things like the condition of public toilets. (Really, the toilets do stink, but I would rather know that our streets are safe and my mum isnt going to be attacked by a snatch thief for the 2nd time)
- ranting about how they are the bumiputera and that we shouldnt question the Malay rights. I get the point already...
- waving their kerises around. Seriously, someone's gonna get injured if it slips.
- raising mundane issues. Oops, already mentioned..
- trying to avoid their responsibilities.
I guess this post isnt really a killer like Warren's one. I havent really been writing for a long time.
on the other hand
god bless mamak stalls. Point where the races unite, and fills our stomachs with joy.

18 April 2007----Kendo
More kirikaeshi, do, men, kote.
Side note, German dude came for training. Yay.
I got my hakama and gi. Yay
Cant fcking tie it.....
Overall I think my performance today was good. Though I lacked proper kihon cuts, at least I managed to do a few. Decent foot slamming too, though Vinci (whatshername?) told me she might be wrong so I shouldnt use her as a reference. Lol.
Downside was.. my arms felt like shit after warm ups. Possibly because sensei made us do another additional 30 men cuts for the lack of kiai. Which I agree on. So I guess we did.....120+ cuts during warm up? Nonstop too. ** Havent tried 100 hayasuburi for a long time**
In terms of whacking hard, I think I sorted it out. I think. They still say I hit hard. D'oh
Things to take note of :
1. Make big kihon swings. ( I think its called kihon)
2. Work on extended kiai during kirikaeshi
3. Hit targets during kirikaeshi. No missing
4. No extra step before cutting during Do
5. ............ cant think of anything else........
:D

April 16 2007 --- Kendo
Kirikaeshi was slighly ok. Though I noticed that my blows were landing around the middle section of the shinai, not the cutting end. Either I should work on my maai, or it's because of the blocking going on. Oh, and my blows didnt land where they were meant to be. I sometimes slip down the men
Kiai was decent, gotten a praise from Thomas. :D I think thats my second praise from a club president. First was from Michael last week. But I did ran out of breathe during the extanded kiai kirikaeshi
Bad stuff was my kote men and do.
1. Footwork wasnt good, my slamming footwork didnt seem right.
2. I think I actually took a step forwards sometimes before launching. Instead of launching from position.
3. Kiai was sluggish. Not too threatening.
4. Didnt draw the shinai high enough.
5. Cuts sometimes didnt hit at correct location. Especially the do cuts. Cut too low.
6. I cut too hard. Need to regulate my blows.
7. I cut too fast. Cutting slower should solve problem 6.
8. Failed to take note of minor things like looking at your oppenent properly, or having the shinai pointing at his throat

April 16 2007
This is the first post in my blog (duhh). While walking through the Melb Uni carpark, smelling Boon's smoke as he puffed away on a ciggie, I decided to start a blog to keep track on my kendo progress. It's sort a diary for me to refer to after every lesson so I can see if I'm making any progression . So please please please forgive my kendo gungho-ness, I will seperate my kendo stuff with my other blog issues under different posts, so you need not salvage gossip through a sea of odd terms and all. So what is there to say..... think about it, I'm getting lazy to even write on my everyday stuff. Its tiresome enough reporting to my mum everyday, let alone report it to the whole world. ** Yes, she makes me report to her by calling me. Everyday.** Anyway, I cleaned the whole bloody apartment. Single handedly. And even my sister was amazed by my skill. :D Who says guys cant do housekeeping? But heck doesnt matter, the place is starting to get a little more untidy now... my jacket's hanging off the couch, and my shinai is blocking the corridor. Oh helll..... Ninjas vs Samurai's. Funny thing is , everytime I hang out with my fellow UMKC members, we tend to have pizzas. Last last week, we ordered 60 pizzas for our pizza night. Today, I went out for dinner with em ( at Lygon Street) and we had..... yea.. pizzas. ** The group consisted of only beginners, this does not give a full statement on the whole club** Heres the odd thing, with our superb love for pizzas, doesnt that parallel us to the TMNT? Pizza loving cold blooded reptilian ninjas ( not to mention aneroxic ---- Kay )
