Well, it has been a while since my last (very grumpy) post.

I must say our final lap in school had and will continue to be a very mentally draining one. But i'm so glad i have them to stand aside me all the way to the finishing point (:

I hate it how... / 11:37 PM

I hate it how, my cup is already filled to the brim and i expect people to cut me some slack but they just assume I own a bottomless well.
I hate it how, everybody thinks they're assigning a small and little job to you but failed to realise, they're just one of the many people assigning something small and little.
I hate it how, some people promise me that I need not do much, pretends to understand and it ends up burning my schedules.

I hate it how, I am unable to perform well and need to trouble others to complete it for me. (i'm sorry)
I hate it how, I had explicitly objected to something but am still required to do it anyhow.
I hate it how, people think they're giving you a choice when they already have their ideal answer and actions in mind.

I hate it how I can't reject Family

I hate it how, people always think that Polytechnic students can never be busier than Junior College students.
I hate it how, I am behind in schoolwork and grades but still have a mountain to scale.
I hate it how, others can have a 'family issue' and I can't.
I hate it how, others can throw their temper and I can't bring myself to.

I hate it how, people ask "hey, what's the problem?" and don't intend to listen to my replies.
I hate it how, I feel guilty to burden those that are willing listen to my problems. My problems should never be one of others.
I hate it how, I reject someone's listening ear, because I feel that I'm not worth their worries.
I hate it how, I feel like this even though I have great friends.
I hate it how, amidst this crap, I must still be politically right.

I hate it how, I dream of reality and can't even take a breather during my slumber.
I hate it how, I wake up in the middle of the night after a nightmare of expectations and deadlines.
I hate it how, I can't fall asleep after those nightmares because I feel apologetic if I go to sleep again.
I hate it how, this semester is so much shorter but with so much more deadlines and assignments.
I hate it how,this New Year started rocky and how it gives me the impression that it'll continue to be rocky. And this is only the beginning.

I hate it how, this must be conveyed through a blog, and not through my initial objections.

I hate it how people will start asking "Hey, have you read Esther's latest post?" just for gossip content and some interesting topic, not out of concern.

yay! didn't bring home any work today! :D
which means sufficient sleep and more time to catch up with peeps, surf the net, blog hop etc etc. come to think of it, it has been pretty long since i read blogs! so, i'll read them tonight! :D

i guess it's time to start brushing up my English as well! need to meet the demands and standards of a law firm! oh, and it's like time to bury my head in Family Law text and the Rules of Court again! ahhhhh. thank goodness the staff at LAB are quite tolerant of our mistakes and ignorance :D

INTERNship / 8:05 PM

Hello dear friends whom realised i haven't been online as much as i had been (and as much as i want to)! Internship for the past week left me literally KO-ed at the end of the day. But unlike alyssa(and she claims beyonce as well), i remove my makeup before concussing. haha!

And today, alyssa and i brought work home! research with no clue on how to even begin! D:

OH WELL,
Internship at legal aid bureau (LAB) has been really fun so far! Everybody's super nice and they're like VIs! fun-loving but professional! Of course working with alyssa and having ocassional lunches with ally and lata really helps me to pull through each day! but trust me, the stacks and stacks of applicant files that needs working on plays a big role too. and our mentor sent out this mail for the staffs in LAB to give us work to do! so this is just the beginning! hopefully we'll cope well (:

Although it's only the fifth day of internship, we've already gained much experience. i'm like given mandarin clients to handle like 80% of the time! so imagine all the legal terms i need to learn in mandarin!

Also, we visited Changi Prison yesterday to interview one of our Applicants and followed lawyers to court today for Divorce hearings. As quoted from our Senior Assistant Director, "we have single handedly created 40 singles within 1 hour today!"


And it's really amazing how such little exposure to the working and legal aid life can really enlighten oneself. in LAB, we help the poor and needy with legal matters and almost all of the applicants we meet struggle really really hard to survive and pull through each day. sometimes, they come in with long, black faces. sometimes they greet us with smiles and create jokes during the interviews laughing away their hardship and problems. so it hit me:
ס while others struggle to bring food to the table, we complain that dinner is too plain.
ס while others fall into depression as their family fall apart, we frown all day long סwhen our friends/ parents have no time for us.
ס while others have to stay at home all day long to minimise expenses, we throw a fit at our parents for canceling the long awaited holiday trip.
so, what right do we have to grumble and whine about missing out on luxuries when others out there scrap and save to meet their necessities.

310809 Monday - Outing with LAW mates!
Shopped from 12pm to 11pm. Okay, we didn't literally shop all the way, we ate dunk'in donuts and watched a movie too!

THE Final Destination- 3D (!!!)



Greeted me with flying sharp objects dashing right into my face -.- (which continued throughout the movie). Also had its share of blood X 9999, flesh, internal organs flying everywhere with extremely disturbing ways to die.

Has basically the same plot as the previous 3- premonition, cheating death, survivors dying in the same order as how they would have died, characters trying to outsmart death’s order, characters thinking that they have outsmart death but end up dying all the same. HAHA!

Hope I didn’t spoil the movie for you. Enjoy!! :D
(oh oh oh! The main lead’s girlfriend is hot! Fyi. LOL)

After the movie, we had dinner at LJS and did the craziest thing- we walked back to far east (our first shopping location) to buy heels. and then, photo taking outside ion! :D




010909 Tuesday - Wake up late, watched CM & revise Excel for fun Day!
Woke up at 4pm (OMG!) and watched 3 episodes of Criminal Minds!! YAY! i'm like almost completing season 1 already! :D :D


Revised excel for fun :O and realised that youtube has like hundreds of videos that teach us the 'Magic of Excel'. Maybe next time when i drop by alyssa's house for grill/wii/dinner/movie marathon/see the cows i'll get her dad to teach me amazing excel skills! haha!


020909 Wednesday - Outing with the FISHES and FLUFFY!
Met Jingni at JP to have lunch @ Pizza Hut! Doesn't really taste as great as the advertisement proclaims it is.
Great, i just splurged all my internship clothes budget on food. HAHAA!

AND. We are now discussing about having supper at Bedok, BA CHOR MEE! all we have to do now is get Jingni to sneak into her parents' room, get the car key, pick us up and then we can dip into a splash of adrenaline rush as we laugh our jaws sore in her car and figure our way to bedok. YAY! :D


OH! Something random but meaningful to share (found by ally!) This reiterates the point that we must and should always fight for our own happiness!
