Firefly

Bought firefly series dvd after seeing it on discount. I made the move as I had watched its sequeal "Serenity", the movie about a month ago and the fact that the series has only 14 episodes makes it less costing to collect. Plus, I am a fan of Joss Whedon, loved Buffy and Angel, thus love firefly even more, maybe because it has sci-fi elements in it and I really love the dialogues. The dialogues included chinese...haha. In the firefly world, Joss's theory is that only United States and China survived in the future so everyone understood both languages. The hilarious part was listening to the actors pronouncing the chinese words.

Another thing was that chinese was their 'Galatic Language', the actors spoke chinese but the ship's computer used cantonese instead. 1 thing I can conlcude is that Hollywood seems to treat all dialects as chinese. I forgotten what movie I had watched before, where Chow Yun Fat starred in it. When he spoke cantonese, the subtitle bracketed it as chinese.

Back to firefly, it was really sad that the series was cancelled at that time. Perhaps, there are too much sci-fi based series which already existed, Startrek, Farsacpe, Andromeda...etc. I am hoping they will restart firefly, seeing the fact that it was made into a movie, think I will buy Serenity dvd as well.

What to do, What to do

1 week passed since my last exam, been watching Animations and Movies from rental stores. Also did a bit of research on my 3 semester project, looking for a kit to purchase which will aid the project but no leads here due to its rareness. Gonna try my luck when I return to SG.

Dismantled my spolit Canon S520 printer, could not dismantle fully as I do not have the ideal set of tools but I managed to take the PCB board out. Gonna throw everything except the board and the power plug.

Revamp my blog website, got rid of the tagboard, no 1 seems to write anything now. I replaced with links that I think are interesting, some are from my lecturer, some are from the research for various projects I have done. I also put up a joke colmum, which will update everytime I have done a new post.

Freaky Weather and Good Journey to My Housemate

Daylight saving has started on Sunday, which I believe is the start of Spring as well. The weather starts to change too. The day is getting longer, the sun sets after 8pm. The weather was freakingly HOT on Tuesday and Wednesday, it could compete with SG's weather. The only difference is that it is still dry over here, so although one can feel the heat but there is no sweat coming out from the body. Usually the heat will only occur in the afternoon, the night and the morning will still be cool/cold but those 2 days were different, it remained hot throughout. The worst thing is that my room has no window and I have to switch on my small little fan, opened my door to be able to sleep for those 2 nights. It was back to normal yesterday and so is today. Here is a picture I took from my balcony.

My housemate left for SG this morning, Good Journey to him! Now the whole apartment is mine and it has never been so clean and tidy! Well it is liked when we 1st came in. Not that I am saying my housemate is dirty and untidy, it is just that he has too much stuffs (designer, have to buy a lot of stuffs for their area of study, I presume) and his room cannot take in anymore stuffs so most were left in the living room. The window of our living room aka the sliding door to the balcony was unable to open fully due to his stuffs blocking the sliding path (only enough for a person to squeeze through). Now it is different, he packed/threw some of his stuffs, the door can now be fully open. Here is the picture I took inside the living room.

Also I just finished my 3rd exam paper, 1 more to go!

Joke Per Post (If I Remember)
Mexican American War

During the Mexican/American war, an intense long standoff occurred along the front. For days and days neither side made any advances. Finally, an American general had a bright idea.
He aimed his rifle to the Mexican trenches and yelled "Hey Juan!"
A soldier jumped up and replied "What?"
The general shot him dead. This continued for three days.
A Mexican general decided that two could play this game and decided to try it out. He called out "Hey John!!"
An American replied "John isn't here......is that you Juan?"
The Mexican general stood up, "Yeah!"...
