West Texas

About this time last year I did a post about some of the things I love about west Texas, I thought I might add some more things to that list. Beware, there may be some repeats.

1. Sunshine!!
2. Getting in the pool on a hot summer day
3. Thunderstorms (still a fav)
4. Men who call me Ma'am and still open doors for women
5. Praying for rain every Sunday in church (you won't understand this one unless you've lived here)
6. Mexican food (the best)
7. Sunsets, and new to this list, sunrises! (I have a baby now, I'm up earlier)
8. Getting to know our neighbors b/c everyone sits outside at night
9. The fact that it was such a big deal for the county to vote on going "wet" in May. There aren't too many places left that would care so much about this anymore.
10. Being close to my family and friends who have known me since I was just a babe

To my glory baby...

Glory baby you slipped away as fast as we could say baby…baby..
You were growing, what happened dear?
You disappeared on us baby…baby..
Heaven will hold you before we do
Heaven will keep you safe until we’re home with you…
Until we’re home with you…

Miss you everyday
Miss you in every way
But we know there’s a
day when we will hold you
We will hold you
You’ll kiss our tears away
When we’re home to stay
Can’t wait for the day when we will see you
We will see you
But baby let sweet Jesus hold you
‘till mom and dad can hold you…
You’ll just have heaven before we do
You’ll just have heaven before we do

Sweet little baby, it’s hard to
understand it ‘cause we’re hurting
We are hurting
But there is healing
And we know we’re stronger people through the growing
And in knowing-
That all things work together for our good
And God works His purposes just like He said He would…
Just like He said He would…

I can’t imagine heaven’s lullabies
and what they must sound like
But I will rest in knowing, heaven is your home
And it’s all you’ll ever know…all you’ll ever know…

Sweet baby, this date will always be special to us as the day we were to meet you . We love you and miss you and can't wait to hold you some day!

Long time, no blog

Hello blogworld! It has been too long, or has it? Sorry for the lack of blogs lately, but in order to make the most of the time I get with Spencer I have enforced a strict new rule for myself. No internet when the babe is awake. And the second, but less strict part, is limited internet when Dan is home. My time with my family is just too precious to waste. So, here I am, Sat afternoon, Spencer is napping, the hubs is at work and I am watching Gilmore Girls from this week. Ah. So, don't worry blog, I haven't forgotten about you, there are just more important things in life and I'm learning how to balance those things now. I will pop in as I am able with updates.
In the meantime...

Sunny Day

Yesterday was my first ever Mother's day as a mother. It was wonderful from start to finish. My husband woke me up nice and early so that I could take a shower and get ready before Spencer was ready to eat. Then I got feed my baby boy. My baby boy! It still sounds so crazy to say. But he was all smiles and I just feel so lucky to be his mom.
After that Dan gave me my present which was a big frame for multiple pictures to go in our living room. So, what kind of pictures do you think I want to fill up the frame with? (See post below)
After that we went to church, came home and ate Rosas (yummy) and then headed off to Brownfield. May 10th just happens to be my grandma's birthday, and occasionally it falls on Mother's Day. So, my mom made a yummy chocolate cake with homemade vanilla ice cream and strawberries! (baby weight schmaby weight, it was wonderful!!) It was absolutely gorgeous outside all day, and Spencer got to spend sometime with my dad outside.
Best part of the day?? Spencer was super cranky after his bottle and really needed a nap. No one could get him to calm down, so my grandma said she would try. She sat down in the recliner and started rocking him, in about 5 mins he was sound asleep and she was in heaven. He slept there for about 45, so sweet. I just loved watching my grandma watch him. Ah, great day.
After all that, as if the day couldn't get any better, we came home and Dan grilled bacon wrapped filets and shrimp. (again, who's trying to lose weight??) Then we spent the rest of the evening playing on our new Wii fit.
A perfect day!

It's been rough...

leaving this face every morning.

Everyone keeps telling me that it will get better. But, I'm just not so sure about that. I still cry at least 2-3 mornings a week when I leave him, and I just ache thinking about him all day. He is in wonderful hands during the day, they're just not mine.

The Lord is still good. I have confidence that this situation is temporary. This song has been on the radio almost every time I have dropped little man off this week. Hope it blesses you as well.

By Your Side (Tenth Avenue North)

Why are you striving these days?
Why are you trying to earn grace?
Why are you crying?
Let me lift up your face
Just don't turn away

Why are you looking for love?
Why are you still searching?
As if I'm not enough?
To where will you go child
Tell me where will you run?
To where will you run?

I'll be by your side wherever you fall
In the dead of night whenever you call
Please don't fight these hands that are holding you
My hands are holding you

Look at these hands at my side
They swallowed the grave on that night
When I drank the world's sin
So I could carry you in
And give you life

Here at my side wherever you fall
In the dead of night whenever you call
Please don't fight these hands that are holding you
My hands are holding you

And I, I love you
And I want you to know
That I, I'll love you
I'll never let you go
