Thank you God, for giving me friends that I can chat with at night over a cup of teh tarik or old town white coffee.

Thank you God, for giving me a spacious house that I call my jungle.

Thank you God, for giving me a father who does the groceries almost daily and buys food that I enjoy.

Thank you God, for giving a mother who works daily, yet returned home everyday without fail and cooks dinner.

Thank you God, for giving me nieces that I sometimes abuse by scaring them, but also that I can love and be loved.

Thank you God, for giving me sisters, who will always take care of me.

Thank you God, for giving me an opportunity to spread my wings and fly and see the world.

Thank you God, for giving me temptations but then constantly helping me through them.

Thank you God, for seeing through my failures and loving me unconditionally.

......And yet that help comes to us as we are in the trap of the hunter. It does not always come in such a way that we avoid the trap of the hunter. It seems God is not all that fussed about our being quarantined from threat or danger. It could even be said that God leaves it till the last minute in order to show us it is he alone who can rescue us. We are left at the end of our tether so that help when it comes can only be from God and not from our own resources.

We can safely rely on the help of God. But we can't readily presume on the shape it takes or the time it appears.

Faith is trusting that help will come, not knowledge of just how it will come.
