Last day @ my centre...spendin it the Special way

Today is my last day in Brighton and it is spent in a very tiring way! Early in the morning, i need to bring the kids to West Coast adventure park for excursion. Luckily, all my favorite lovely kids are with me. Yes, this is going to be the last day i spent with them. (ooh, i am starting to miss my kids now, especially Gerald and Russell). West Coast park is very big and one teacher is in charge of six children. I told my 6 children that they cannot wonder and walk off themselves, else they will get lost and will be unable to reach home cause West Coast park is VERY VERY big. This acts as a "warning" to them and they are all well-behaved! *Wink* My Russell even insisted holding my hand. My dear Gerald being an active boy who loves to run, accidentally suffer a fall and got 2 scratches on his knee. He started crying and was real depressed after that. During the whole snack time, he is leaning against me and has no mood to socialise around as he normally do. My poor boy. This is the last time i can gave him love and comfort. :( Gerald's mummy is very sweet too. She bought a braclet from Perilin Silvers and gave me a thank you card. This is all that satisfied being an educator, and that is to be appreciated. :) My two otehr twins students are very sweet too. They came down all the way to give me my farewell gift. Real touched!

The best is still yet to come! While we are having our snack in the west coast,i am being "summoned" by the rest of the teachers to take a group photo. Being the camera-not-shy Carole, i, of course walk excitedly to pose for the photo. All of a sudden, two teachers grab my hands and i felt water pouring down my head and body! Gosh, the naughty teachers actually took the bottles of water and gave me a free bath! I am running away like mad and they are happily laughing at my WET look! And being the silly me, when they assured me again that they will not SABO me on the second phototake, i INNOCENTLY walk over and join them again. And yes, there they go happily saboing me, watering me like i am a withered plant! Gosh, i am soaked inside out. It was fun though and the children are siting on the canvas, watching this free show! Ha Ha Ha! I immediately went to one of the teachers and hug her from the back like a koala bear! Hee Hee Hee!

Mixed feelings i got here. Happy that i am moving on, sad to leave my children and fun-loving colleagues....

The other half

Today is a very tiring day as i am having my woman problem and bringing the kids out on excursion. When i am back in my centre, gonna rush and feed and bath them. After that, settle down and do some unfinished work. As i am leaving soon, i need to do some work and also pushed some of my kids' academics. My last day is nearing but i still have 8 days to go. How i wish my last day will come soon.

My friend gave me a call last minute when i am reaching my home and call me to accompany him to buy birthday gift for his girl. In the end, he bought wedding bands for her. Feel real happy for him that he is finally getting married! :P Seeing more and more of my friends around getting married, i wish i can find that someone soon too! Ha Ha! But i am very picky now in terms of age and mentality. Sometimes, it is not just chemistry that will do the trick. Especially for my age, it is typically looking more for husband type guys. Situations may happened that the person likes you but you just don't like that person. Or maybe you think that person is suitable for you, but you two just don't have the chance or fate to develop more.

Hope that my other half is nearing me and definitely a geniue one! :) Hee Hee.

I learnt yesterday that self-helplessness can be cured as by giving the correct advises, one can stand strong again. But self-hopelessness will be the worst as the person itself has already give hope on herself/himself.

Don't be afraid to be afraid and feel uncertain of the future, just ask and find out. But never lost hope on yourself and the future!

Back from Camp

The camp has ended and it is too short for all of us. The kids are wishing that it can last longer. I was kinda sad to say goodbye to all my teammates and children on the last day and am starting to miss all of them. It was real nice hanging out with the kids and i typically blend into them till i get bullied by them most of the time. I will say my usual rubbish and crack jokes and teased them. On top of that, i also give them pamper and care by providing massage service!! When i do that, the kids will start to go "Me Me Me" and fight for their turn especially the boys. But when i asked them to massage me back, all of them run away!!! Only the girls will massage me back. Naughty boys aren't them???

I get along with my girl very well and she is smart and independent. She knows the way throughout the camp better than me and most of the time, she will know where to walk so i just followed. Ha Ha Ha! But during the first 2 days, she was down with fever and i was worried that she will be sent back home. The nurse kindly instruct me to pump her with lots of water so that her fever will subside. I did so and keep her water bottle full and keep calling her to drink. On the first night,i sponge her and she felt much better on the second day. My girl also opened up a lot and chit chat with me during the camp. I am real happy to see that she is so at eased with me. :)

The whole group of children were fanstatic and the befrienders were totally helpful and nice. We were the oldest group as all my kids are secondary one, only my girl is primary six. Our group name is Cool Maroon Racoons and i guessed we were too cool. As there are long waits between activities, therefore my fellow small racoons tend to get lazy when another new activity start. They will start to fall asleep or laze around. Ha Ha Ha!

At the start, every kid is shy and did not really get along. On the last day, all the kids are playing together and getting along very well but at this moment, they got to part soon. It is sure a great pity that the camp lasted so short.

All of us exchanged contacts and emails and added one another in friendster and msn. Chat with harrith and celine today on msn and celine has just flood my tagboard! Ha Ha Ha! Well, as long as my kids are happy.

Lastly, i really am impressed with one of my befrienders who take care of a more special kid. She is very patient and cool tempered and i wanna salute to her. She did a fanstatic job! This camp is really a place u meet genuie people.

Three Cheers to Cool Maroon Racoons!!!! :)

Singing happily....

Pretty cheryl who is our admin staff.

So what can you see from these photos? Karaoke? Correct!

Fun and Craze? Correct!

With unknown people?? They are my colleagues. They are real sporty and everyone start swaying and dancing when they sing. Very cute indeed! No wonder we are all childcare teachers! And we spotted one "trademark" too. Our voice became more hoarse and rough after being a teacher. Years ago, i can hit a high pitch easily. Now, it takes me more effort to do so!! Sob Sob!!

I will be meeting my Rainbow Camp child tommorrow. I will need to fetch her to Kovan from Tiong Bahru mrt station. Let's hope we can communicate well!! :)

Art Theraphy Rocks!

Art Theraphy is a rare course, not many people understands about this course. Art Theraphy is not popular in Singapore. I must really thanks jane for getting me expose to this course. Registered for diagnostic art theraphy and i am loving it! Just went to my second lesson and the information i am hearing are keeping me at the edge of my seat! It is so interesting and is definitely my cup of tea! Although the lecturer keep saying a lot of terms which i don't know but i still note down everything he say in details. There are so many things to learn, so many books to read, so many details to remember and so many MUST-KNOW authors to memorise!

Art Theraphy is mainly to analysis a person's mind through what he/she draws. It is extremely useful for kids who have difficulty expressing themselves. For adults, it is mainly for people who have emotional problems. For example, cancer patients, ill patients, mentally ill people or criminals. On my next lesson, the lecturer wants us to bring drawings of a house, a tree and a person drawn by person of aged 8 onwards and we will be taught on how to analysis it! Woo Hoo, i am going to call my friends to draw so that i can practise my work! :)

I do have some thoughts whether to be an art therapist in any form in future. These 10 lessons that i am going to have will help me to determine my interest more.If i am heading towards this path,i will be facing all kind of people who are having emotional problems. If i am handling with children, they will be unhappy children. I want to do a job that enables me to help those in need but i need to find out if i have the ability to balance my emotions. By going through this course and doing my volunteery work in Rainbow camp will expose me more to all these factors.

By the way, i have visited one of my Rainbow Camp child and she is a pretty primary 6 girl. She is suffering from some form of osteoporosis so i will need to be very careful with her. The only thing about this pretty girl is that she is very very very shy and quiet. I will need to be GI LA GI LA and very talkative to cheer her up!!! Ha Ha HA! And i do hope she will be involved with most of the camp activities.

Wow, i am sure excited about my path ahead! To think back, i make a breakthrough by becoming a childcare teacher and give up IT industry. After my experience, i realised i really love to work with children. And now, it is time for me to progress. Either i will be a teacher still or do some other relevant jobs. I never regret studying my Dip in MMI as is very interesting and get me exposed to so many different lines! Meeting the people in therapist line and getting involved in all these sure make my life more meaningful!I believe i will learn a lot more in future. Wish me all the best ya!! :)

New Plans with a New Me

I must say a big THANK YOU to Brighton Montessori. I learnt a lot from Brighton. I learnt how to manage my students, how to liaise with the parents, how to be an octopus and multitask, how to speak proper english. I also love my students as they let me smile and laugh from the bottom of my heart, amazed me with their talents and amused me with their innocence and speech.

I like my colleagues too as a few of our own lingos are created. In Brighton, we cannot say negative words so we spell them out. Words like BLUR, NAU(stands for Naughty), STUBBORN, SPOILT, SOTONG, LIAN, BENG. Funny Funny words you can think of! And guess what, BLUR, SOTONG and LIAN are always used on me!! Hee Hee! And we called some of our seniors OP! Nope, not because they are very trendy and love to wear ocean pacific shirts! Is that they are Old People! Hee! Bits and pieces of these memory stays in my heart.

My students will not go "Teacher Carole, i want paper!"
"Teacher Carole, i want to do cutting!"
"Teacher Carole, he don't love me!"
"Teacher Carole, i want to go shhh shhh"

I will moved on to a part time job in a learning centre in Bishan. It is also a montessori place and i will continue to teach my montessori way. I will not be working on Sunday and Monday. I will still be learning more about my phonics and i will be taking in phonics for tuition.

And oh yes, i will be taking Art Theraphy Cert starting coming Thursday onwards and it will last for 10 weeks. Till then, i have enough time to think if i'm up to go the art therapist line or further on my degree in early childhood. Lots of changes and planning and so far, everything going well.

And i am being selected to the rainbow camp! My leader just called me and told me that i am being assigned to 2 primary 6 girls who live in Bukit Merah. As my co-leader is out to USA for job post, we, the team mates must do more. I got to think of a group name related to muscial. Any suggestions to help me save my brain cells???? ;)

It's May! Is time for May to become Mrs Yang!

Finally, vows are exchanged and their love are being witnessed by all their friends and relatives. Not to forget the poly friends who watched how their love grew throughout the years. We walked part of the journey together and on 1st of May, is time for them to walk out and shine in front of the rest as they exchanged their rings and Kissed to swear to love,to care and to be bond for life.....MUACKS!

This cake is done by Jasmine. So sweet and nice of her!

Let's applauded to the lovely couple....May and Meyer! Look at how pretty the bride is!

Finally caught some time to take a few snaps with the pretty bride. That is Phyllis on the right.

My Eventful Saturday

It is almost good to spend a meaningful weekend as i have a real good one. In the afternoon, went to Sungei Boloh for Rainbow Camp befriender selection event. Unluckily, it was raining all day and the children are unable to walk in the greens. We are all trapped in the shelter and our mission is to know the children and answer some quiz together with them. The children are accompanied to this outing with their siblings and parents. So the children we get to befriend with may just be a healthy child instead. I am being assigned to group 1 and my group members are very jolly and active and take initiative to communicate with the children. There are 5 children assigned to my group. Faith (P4),Lijuan (P1),Lifen (P3),Wenhan (P1) and a P1 malay boy(i forget your name, sorry boy! Let's call him AZ then!)First, we went into the theatre to see the show and during the waiting time, each group are called to sit in a circle to know each other better. We starting folding paper using the quiz and the boys started to fly their paper aeroplanes.AZ start to misbehave and he snatch Wenhan's piece of paper when Wenhan is folding his paper. I corrected him on the spot and call him to return it back. He throw it back to Wenhan. I took back from Wenhan and ask AZ to pass it to Wenhan properly and say "Sorry". After several attempts, AZ still throw it to Wenhan. WOW....he is real hard to discipline and very spoilt!!!

We wanted to play a game and Wenhan is still playing with his paper aeroplane so i try to take it away from him and asked him to sit properly. He go "ErrrrrErrrr" and tried to snatch back his aeroplane from me. I told him 'You dun Err Err Err heh" and he hit me on my hand and run away! Duh~ After the show, we walk together to collect our food and AZ started to run away. I chased after him as i am afraid that he will fall or run in the rain. I tried to grab him but he keep struggling and run further. There are onlookers looking but they did not offer their help. There is even one rainbow camp guy who snap photos at us when i am trying to distract AZ's attention by asking him to look at the animal's display and even call us to look at the camera!! I was thinking "God! I am trying to catch him back to our meeting place and you are still busy snapping pics!" Ha Ha Ha! After a while, my teamleader came and help me. He ask AZ to chase after him and both of them went running away. But he is sure a handful to handle as throughout the whole trip, he kept running and hiding from me as if i am playing with me. We are still not confirmed to be selected and it can only be by end of April. There will be a whole day training camp on 22 Apr and this time, only ADULTS.

Catch AZ on my camera when he is in action!

Finally caught him staying STATIONARY when he is looking at the display.

My group members with the young girls. ;)

After the sweaty event, i went to meet May, Meyer, Jasmine, Ian, Shuyun, Phyllis and Yenping for super yummylicious crabs. Please! The butter crab taste is still lingering on my taste buds. It is superb and wonderful! Yum Yum! After that, we went to Serangoon Garden and sat down on Coffee Club to enjoy our small talks and tasty drinks. It is sure real nice to meet up with the girls, especially with my blessed going-to-be-wed-couple. I feel so happy to see them so loving together. I will sure be praying for them everyday to stay in love. :)

Me and Shuyun.

The girls read to feast on our crabs and Ms Jasmine is still not here. :P

Soon, Hongwei join us and it has been a year plus since i last saw him! He is still the same but he is quite shocked at how i look now.He complimented that i look prettier and hyperactive!!! Ha Ha!!! Contact lens sure do miracles, don't it? *Wink* Off we went into Sentosa to visit Huiling's friend, Jackie, at Coasta Sands chalet for her birthday party.

But i think the weather is too warm and it is making me sweat like nobody business so i did not enjoy it much.

Me and Fiona posing with our favorite titbits, LAYS! Look at us! Both covered with shades but still, my nose is "burnt". Sad! :(
