The sickness bug has hit

Oh my goodness, I think our family has been sick for the last month.  Lily had pink eye a couple of weeks ago and stayed home from school for about 3 days.  Then Dallin got a cough and the flu and threw up.  Gordon also go the flu pretty bad and was out.  Then Eric got the flu and stayed home from work a couple of days and has had a crazy cough.  Lily then got sick again and so did Gordon.  Ruby had a little stomach ache and I felt like I had flu like symptoms briefly but I'm taking lots of preventative measures to try and stay healthy.  I've been sleeping on the couch and away from everyone.  I. don't. want. to. get. sick!!!

Luckily they were healthy enough at some points of the day to run up and down the hall pushing this large tub.

Ruby and friend

Ruby has made friends with the cutest little girl in her class.  The two of them love to run together during running club, play soccer, and Ruby is asking for play dates with her all of the time.  The best part is she lives right here in our neighborhood!

St. George Utah Adventure

Eric, my mom, and I took the kids to St. George and Brian Head back in January.  We are still reminiscing about the fun we had on this trip.  Gordon had been asking to go skiing and to see the snow, so we make it happen and it was such a magical trip.  We rented a Tahoe here in San Diego with 4 wheel drive because we weren't sure if it was going to be snowing or not.  We were sure glad to have that car although didn't realize how tiny the trunk was, ha!
Part of the trip is Eric generally stops at a gas station and gets a giant drink.  All of the kids go wild and want to share his drink.  This drink was half the size of 3 year old Lily and she thought it was the best. thing. EVER!

When we got out of the car at Cedar City the kids discovered snow on the ground and were so excited.  Of course the boys refused to wear a jacket or pants so yes, they were freezing but Dallin marched on in his croc sandles.

We had to stop at DI to see if they had any snow boots and believe it or not, we found boots for everyone for $3 a pair, it was awesome.  The kids also each found a treasure and we found ski bibs for Dallin and Lily for $3 each as well.

Sledding... well, this was Ruby, Lily, and Dallin's first sledding trip.  Gordon had been once before a few Christmas's back but for some reason he thought he had remembered everything and decided to march himself up to the top of the hill and literally he came flying down the hill and almost crashed into a tree.  It scared him enough that he was willing to listen to directions the next time.  Luckily he didn't get hurt and learned some important lessons.

We were so surprised with how much Dallin and Lily liked the snow.  Dallin really loved eating the snow and laid down for a good chunk of the time.

Ruby Rose - age 5 almost 6 loved the snow and did a great job sledding.

Dallin - 3 1/2 laughing and eating the snow.

Gordon and Ruby built a snowman and even brought along a carrot nose.  During the building of the snowman, Dallin wet his pants and I had to take him back to the car and Lily was having a fit because she wanted to eat the carrot nose instead of use it for the snowman - kids!
Lily showing us how to do squats in her snow boots.
We went to the St. George Temple visitors center and it was great to be on the temple grounds.  There was a wonderful spirit there.
