Happy Birthday Matt and Christmas Tree Dilemma

Happy birthday to my sweet brother!

Sloane is very happy to be with her Pops!

Love you Matt!

My brother and his beautiful family (Sloane is sleeping so she's shown in the monitor in this pic)

Tried to get Christmas Card pics but opted for a professional...Christmas Cards coming soon!  This makes me laugh because in my head it didn't look ANYTHING like this!

This was the cutest pic but I had to crop it and the lighting is terrible.  Izzy looks like she's praying or really inquisitive about the lights, but really she's looking for a treat.

So my pre-lit Christmas decided to un-light this year.  I purchased 3 boxes of 300 lights from Target (target brand...this will be important in a min.)  I put them on the tree and after about two hours parts of 3 of the 6 strands went out.  I was so mad because then I had to remove them from the tree; and try to box them back up so I could take them back.  Plus, I still have the issue of a very dark tree.  So then I purchased Phillips brand lights from Target and put them on the tree but they were too dim and didn't match the few rows of tree lights that were still working.  So I returned those and purchased 7 100 light strands (GE brand) from Hobby Lobby (because they were out of the longer strands...of course!)  I went home and put them on and only got about have of the tree done.  So by this time Hobby Lobby was closed and they aren't open on Sunday.  This morning (Sunday) I went to Lowes and purchased 8 more boxes of GE lights with the correct brightness (I was not going to run out!)  I came home and put them on the tree and had two boxes left over which I used on the outside tree's whose lights also decided they didn't want to work.  I needed to decorate the tree but I also needed to run to Kroger so I could make my work potluck dish. I went to Kroger and came home to turn on my beautiful bright tree and guess what????  NOT ONE SINGLE LIGHT CAME ON!  Are you freaking kidding me!  I started bawling.  Yep, I did!  I know it's crazy, but I was tired and I've had more issues with this dang tree!  Not to mention I did all of this so I wouldn't have to buy a new tree.  Note to self...ALWAYS just buy the new tree!  Well, I called mom and she came over with three extension cords and a splitter cord and the tree of 1500+ lights is now lit...a little Clark Griswold but beautiful!  So now to fluff the scarf ribbon that goes on the tree...Oh wait the dryer won't come on!  Great...just great!  Someone is trying to steal my Christmas spirit!!!!

Halloween and Election day!

We all went to Mika's for dinner and pics with the kiddos!  So precious!
Sydney (Cupcake Fairy), Quinn (Monkey), Kate (Cupcake), and Ava Lile (Witch)

Lets just say it took a few hundred takes:)

I have an orchard at work in my office and I thought it was dead after it bloomed last spring, but guess what???  I nursed it back to health.  Who knew ice once a week was the secret?  Pretty sure I drowned all the others I've had.

Getting ready for election day!  Everything's better with glitter!!!

I must say my glitter sign was pretty awesome!

This cute little girl was oh so proud of her granddaddy.

We are in a run off so please get out and vote for Joe Smith on November 27th!

A few pics with the Walker girls...they weren't really cooperating but we got this good pic!

This little princess just wanted to run!

Most pics looked like this.

....or this!

Election Season and Casting Crowns!

My best friend's dad, Joe Smith, is running for mayor in NLR.  I can personally attest to Joe's character and work ethic.  He's worked tirelessly for our city and he's done more for me personally than I can even list from carting Lauren and I around before we could drive to helping us move into the freshman dorm at OBU. He's been a part of my life since I was 14 and I couldn't pick a better man to lead our city into this next phase of growth and development!
Lauren and Joe

Young people for Joe!

Race for the Cure

I don't know of any campaigners as cute as these two!

They love their granddaddy!

Precious Kate and me!

Kate was workin' her sign!

It might be upside down, but it's held with pride!

Kate even gave us a little dancing!

Joe and his precious campaigners

Sydney found a friend!

I love this pic!

I'm not even sure what Izzy did today, but she's pooped!

My sweet sister-in-law invited me to Casting Crowns and we had the BEST time!

I spent the day with Matt, Mel, and the girls.  I'm pretty sure that Mackenzie is Sloane's favorite person!

OK this is making me nervous!

Kate is serious about this slide!

Ava Lile you'll have fun!

Or you might crash...sorry about that!

Kate, Sydney, and Quinn!

Love these little girls!

The pigs are prepping for their race.

So the pre-race snack is Fritos...sick!

The pigs pics are posted so we can know who's running.

And they are off!

Each pig had a character riding on their back so you could yell for your favorite!

...and they get a post race snack too.  You guessed it...Fritos!

Maria, Kate and Lauren

Once more around the track!

Ava Lile is checking out the chickens.

I fed a goat!

Sydney and Ava Lile went back in time and took a ride on a carriage.

These cute redheads picked out some pumpkins!

It's been a long morning and the girls decided to wagon ride back to the car!

Are they cute or what!?!?!
