Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Lucy and I have been singing this little tune for the past 2 days...and it's not listening! We have had pretty much straight rain since Tuesday night! It's been much needed, but us party animals are a little bored. So we have been pretty much chillin in our pj's all day (my neighbor can attest to that-she knocked on my door while I was still in my robe!-haha). We have enjoyed lots of cuddly naps!
And have been playing dress up with some fun jewelery. I love these faces...and she LOVES that necklace, we have a total girly girl on our hands!

I love looking out the window with Lucy- teaching her about rain, and what it is. I love "teaching" Lu lots of stuff because in case you haven't noticed whenever you talk to her she opens her eyes SO wide and just stares at you, and if you finish your story with a voice inflection she will give you a polite smile or if your lucky even a laugh at the end of your point. It makes me feel so good. She sure has a way of making a mommy feel soo special and loved! Now after all these years of talking to myself (yes, i do) I finally have someone to listen to me all day, especially on rainy days! She is one lucky girl! ;)

Baby Toys

What is the best toy(s) to get a 8-12 month old baby? I need to start getting a list for Christmas, and I have very little ideas. I was thinking maybe some blocks, something she can hold on to to learn to walk, something small to ride, a little interactive table/toy...? Fill in the blank. Please recommend toys, brands, places to purchase, etc. Thanks Ladies!

I mean how can I resist getting the best for this happy little girl!?

the second one is my absolute FAVORITE! :) I dare you to not smile!

This is what happens...

When you are too scared to kill the bug... you let it hang out under a cup all day anticipating it's eminent death when the strong, brave, manly man comes home from school.

When your daddy gives you a bath at night and puts you to bed without coming your hair.

Why Hello Alf-Alfa! Stubborn little thing just won't go down no matter how many times mom has slobbered her saliva all over it! Good thing your cute Lu!

This has been our morning so far- I love my job! :)

Four Months

What color eyes do I have?
So strong! We love those chunky thighs!!

Dancing with Momma! This girl really is my best friend, I just enjoying playing with her so much. Don't get me wrong I love being able to get things done while she naps, but a lot of the time I find myself watching the clock just waiting for her to wake up. I find after 2 hours or so I start to miss her.
She has had her first tastes (licks) of a Popsicle, vanilla ice cream, starburst, grape and Asian pear. I think it's safe to say ice cream is her favorite- she really is her daddy's clone. So much for vegetables being the first thing she tastes!
She loves looking at herself in the mirror. She laughs and tells herself she is beautiful, and we agree. She also loves it when you sing to her.
She is starting to get pretty ticklish. Usually giggling when i change her clothes. She also gets startled really easily, better not sneeze while you feed her, she will lose it!
She has rolled...a total of 4 times...so not sure if that counts as officially "rolling" yet, but she can do it.
Mainly she just hangs out on her side like this.
A friend let us borrow there toy. We let Lucy try it out......her feet don't quite touch the bottom yet! ;)
Everyone comments on her big, bright, wide eyes. She is very alert and attentive. Which hopefully will last through the teenage years! ;)

She is mastering the concept of grabbing toys and bringing them to her face to suck on
I made her this hairbow last week. It is one of my new favorites! She is such a doll! She loves her stroller and going on walks!

We have tried several diffrent wraps. We love the miracle blanket a friend has let us borrowed. This one only lasted about 3 days before Miss Houdini could get out! haha!
- These days she is tanking about 6 ounces of formula every 3 hours on average. She usually goes to bed between 9-10 and wakes up once to eat around 3-4 then is up at 7:30. She has been known to wake up and need the bink back in her mouth once or twice tho...

We have decided this little girl has her fathers kind, easy going, pleasant demeanor, but her Momma's lungs! She shrieks and squeals and squawks like nobody's business. Most of the time happy noises-but watch out when on the rare occasion she is mad! Watch how loud she is- Enjoy her little laughs!

At her "3 month" appointment which was just 2 weeks ago here were her stats:

Height: 23 3/4 inches 50-75%
Weight 13.2 lbs 50-75%
Head Circumference:16 3/4 inches 95%

Her head doesn't seem that big to me...but the evidence say's otherwise I suppose.

One more little video displaying her cuteness...I know I am obsessed.

North Carolina

For Labor Day Weekend we headed down to Kernersville North Carolina for our newest nephews' baby blessing. Baby Jonathan was born just 2 weeks after Lucy! The Fox's showed us a great time down in this BEAUTIFUL state! On the 4 hour drive down Lucy was amazing! The drive went by really fast while we listened to "Catching Fire" book on c-d. We first celebrated Jame's 4th Birthday at a nearby park. I caught Lucy just looking up at the trees cooing in her stroller. This is her newest trick. She is a big jabber!
And loves chewing on her fingers!
After the park we went on a hike at Pilot Mountain. It was a gorgeous view and wonderful weather!
Some of those crazy Fox grandkids!
With my wonderful sister in law Lisa...I love her!
Erik and "the bug" as we call her. She loves that carrier!
The rock walls were amazing! The Fox Brothers

And somehow I didn't get any pictures of the blessing day. Wups! But either way- Thanks Larry and Mindy for a fabulous weekend! We want to come visit again soon!
