Grand Prix of Baltimore
This weekend is the Grand Prix of Baltimore and I decided to go and see what all the action is about. Eric is at a conference all week so I went with a friend. We got cheap tickets from Living Social. When we got there we got lost and turned around and wandered around for a long time.We finally figured out we could sit where ever we wanted. After walking and eating and walking some more we sat down to watch the cars-and nothing was happening. There was a problem with the track and so for about two hours there was nothing going on. When the races started back up we watched for about 45 minutes before deciding we were pretty bored and left. Glad I got a good deal on the ticket.

All Things Creative
On my commute to and from work recently I have been listening to mormonchannel.org. I downloaded the app and then made playlists of the shows I wanted to listen to. One of my favorite shows is "All Things Creative". The last episode I listened to was about scrapbooking. Before my mission I was a big scrapbooker but after my mission it just wasn't something that captured my fancy. Listening to the women talk about how they preserve memories gave me a few ideas of things I want to try. One is when I go on vaction buy postcards (one for each person) and have everyone write their favorite part on the back. Then hole punch, add a ring and have a vacation memory book. I also want to make a slide show on a DVD of each year with music of all my pictures. Two things I already do are my blog books and then also picture books of big events. It is a fun thing to do but I have to work to not get caught up in to many things.

Doing the mom thing
I work as a nanny so Monday-Friday, 7:30-3:30 I take care of two great little kids. This weekend Mandy and Fred went out of town for a wedding and Eric and I stayed overnight with the kids. Eric and I got to the house on Saturday at noon. We decided to take the kids to the zoo and we had a great time. The weather was absolutely perfect. At one point we were sitting at a table eating a snack and I got teary eyed because it was just one of those perfect moments in life. Later that night we took the kids to The Green Turtle for dinner. Eric was in shock with how much Vivian can eat in one sitting. Josh has a habit of getting up super early about every other morning and this morning was one of those mornings. Eric being the amazing man that he is and an early riser was up with Josh at 5:20 a.m. Eric has a conference and so he had to head to D.C. at 6 a.m. I did the whole getting ready for church and getting to church and getting through sacrament meeting all by myself with two kids. Mandy and Fred go to church with kids but the kids go to the nursery/kids class. I was so proud of how well Vivi and Josh did during sacrament meeting. Josh did about 20 minutes of Primary before he was ready to come back to me. After Sunday school we came on home and the kids took a nap. Eric finished up his conference and it is so much fun to have him around when I am with the kids. I give props to all the moms and dads to get up and get kids to church every week.

All before noon...
This morning Eric was running late so I had to drive him down to the VA in Baltimore rather than to the Metro station, when I went to eat breakfast Eric had eaten the pop-tarts (a rare treat) so I had to improvise as I was running late, when I got to work the house was chaotic because the drywall guy had totally botched the ceiling repair, the city had blocked off all the on street parking in front of the house because of a new gas line (for two weeks we won't be able to get in the front of the house), Mandy found out last minute that she had guest coming and needed the pac-n-play which was at my house so I loaded up the kids and drove to my house where I managed to lock myself out of the spare room where the pac-n-play was all while the kids were whining and cranky. Do you hear the huge sigh of relief that the day is winding down? To top it off Josh broke out in hives right before I left work. It was one of those crazy days where everything seems to pile up.
