This is a little creepy, but my Mom thought the pictures weren't doing justice in showing how small she is, so... she sent this picture (next to Lucy's baby doll) to my family who hadn't met Abby yet.

- When Lucy woke up this morning she was singing and dancing on her bed, "My have a baby sister!"
- And when my Mom asked her how she slept, Lucy said, "I sleep hard."
- If Lucy doesn't like the direction my instructions are going, she nips it in the bud with a "don't talk, Mommy."
- Bryan and Lucy were playing, and Lucy kept leaning her whole head back laughing and saying, "You're joking, Daddy!"

She's Here

I woke up early this morning with contractions; we got to the hospital at 8:30 am, and she arrived at 12:27 p.m., weighing 5 pounds, 13 oz and 19". She's the cutest little thing. We are so thankful. "He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy" (Psalm 28:7).

And I quote: "I love water; I love swimming pool."

Lucy is 2 1/2

- She drew a line on the chalkboard and then jumped back surprised and yelled, "Oooh! A snake!"
- She likes to dress up Bryan in her headbands & necklaces
- I think it's funny when Lucy says "o-kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay?" to make sure I understand her directions for whatever we're playing
- She sticks out her tummy and rubs it and says, "Lucy have Baby Sister."
- When she says "bunny rabbits!!!!" she's trying to act like the youngest girl in Sound of Music when they sing "A Few of My Favorite Things". She also likes "... The sun... has gone... to bed and so must I..."
- Her best dance move includes sticking out her elbows with a knee bounce.
- She sings REALLY loud in the car

Baby Sister Like?

I made matching yellow & white seersucker dresses for the girls. Lucy holds the little one up to my stomach and asks, "Baby Sister like??"

Happy Lake Day

When we rode onto the lake, Lucy said, "Pretty sun." And when we left she told us, "Sun take a nap."

Lucy usually eats her morning oatmeal standing on her chair. When Bryan leaves for work, she explains, "Daddy go to work. Lucy stay home with Mommy." She runs to follow him outside as she waves with both arms up in the air and yells, "I love you, Daddy! See you later!" And her latest: "Happy Day!"

Lucy adores Bryan. She copies everything he does, and they love the same things. (These are pics from this week; Lucy picked out the airplane to paint for him.)

Lucy talks about Baby Sister a lot:
- I told her that Baby Sister was still just eating and sleeping right now, but after we swim and go to sleep, swim and go to sleep (repeat that 10 more times) then Baby Sister would come and play with Lucy and live at Lucy's house. "Ok, I wanna do dat." She then goes and puts on her shoes like we're going to do it right then. The next morning she came and kissed Baby Sister (my stomach) and said "Baby Sister come out now." Not yet... (she's due August 10th)
- We were walking home from the swimming pool in our wet bathing suits, and she said, "Lucy cold. Baby Sister cold?"
- She'll bring me a toy and say, "Baby Sister play with Lucy's toys."
- She practices changing diapers on her dolls, and today she put their bottles in the fridge. She explained that she would hold Baby Sister "on her shoulder. Mommy help. Baby Sister heavy."
- I started to go through some of Lucy's old clothes to wash and use. Those spandex shorts Lucy is wearing are actually bell-bottom preemie pants...

The Zoo was awesome

Lucy LOVED watching the monkeys swing and riding the train. She also asked to see a cow.
