feeding a 3 year old

When attempting to get Brock to eat and feeding him things can get pretty interesting. He usually just asks for help when he realizes he isn't going to be able to do anything until he eats. Yesterday he decided to try something new... He asked for cereal on top of his spaghetti. Gross! He ate it too. I guess if it works...
Some days I wonder why I even try to go to church when Seth is at work. Today I knew it would just be sacrament meeting for us because Brock has a bit of a cough so he can't go into nursery. I could not handle how crazy they were all sacrament! They were so crazy and naughty! I was very glad to go home and be done. I called my Mom and told her I wouldn't be coming to her house for dinner like we had planned, I figured the boys would just be a little too hard still and I was tired! She and Papa K were so nice and brought up some yummy chili for us and some fun-dips for the boys. Nothing like a sugar packet for a hyper kid! They actually love them though. Once Brock was done with his stick he proceeded to use his finger. I thought it made a pretty great picture!
So sweet! They are usual little angels so I suppose making Mommy feel like ripping her hair out once in awhile is ok. I love them so much! I wouldn't trade any day for ANYTHING, but I wouldn't mind 'tomorning' being a little mellower!

Fun pics

Jen and Blake are going to be moving to Pueblo, Colorado at the beginning of March and I am very sad about it. Blake has gone to Oklahoma City to train and Jen and the girls are here by themselves for a couple of months. While he has been gone I have been helping by watching Claire once or twice a week. She is so funny. She has the cutest little voice. Brock and Claire don't really get along very well. I call them the arch-enemies. They are always trying to hurt each other and get mad when the other is getting attention. Hopefully they will get over it soon!
Brocky had his three year old well check last Thursday and he has grown! Up until his 2 year well check he went down in the percentile everytime. Finally from 18 to 24 months he stabalized and this time he went up! He went from 28%ile to 56%ile. It was a pleasant suprise! I always am worried about his weight and how much he eats. Lately I just sit with him and feed him to make sure he eats. Now he actually likes it better that way and when I give him his food he will say, "Will you help me?" It is more work, but it obviously paying off.
Doran is getting smarter every day! He knows a lot of the letters and sounds. He gets overwhelmed easily when we work on them though. I have been feeling really stressed the last month about Kindergarten. Enrollment is next month and I just haven't been able to decide whether I should put him in or not. I don't want to put him in and have him struggle all school because he wasn't ready. He has the swing birthday so he could go next year or the following. We just really want to make the best decision for him.
Grandpa Engman has started a fun monthly activity he calls Maurice School. He teaches his grandkids useful things to help them with daily life. This last month we learned about Martin Luther King Jr., kitchen and bathroom cleaning, furnace filters, proper place setting at the table, manners, cooking, and much more. Doran really loved it. After Grandpa taught us the proper way to set a place a the dinner table Doran went through and did it correctly all on his own. He was very proud of himself and Seth and I were proud too! Today we were driving in the car and Doran said, "We are on the Earth, huh Mom?" I told him we were and then he said, "Jayce wants to get in a rocket and go into space." It is always funny to hear the little things they are thinking. I love it. :)

Bean Museum

Today Doran's preschool went on another fieldtrip to the Bean Museum. (They went last year as well.) This year went so much better. Last year they both were grumpy and we ended up leaving. This year Seth was able to come with us and they both were happy! We got there a little early so Doran and his little girlfriend Kamree chased each other around the parking lot.
Brock decided to join after a bit of watching.
Here is Doran's class this year. They are such a cute group of kids.
We got to have our own reptile show while we there. They had a turtle, a python, and a lizard. She walked around with the snake and lizard to let the kids pet them. Neither of the boys touched the snake, but Doran did touch the lizard. After they got a sheet with pictures of all sorts of different animals they needed to find throughout the museum. Doran found them all! It was a fun trip!

Brock's birthday

Last Saturday was Brocky's birthday and one of the worst things that can happen on a birthday happened! Our camera broke. I have to take all the blame for it too. I had on a long jacket and slammed the jacket in the door with my camera in the pocket. It is totally broke :( So I only have 2 pictures from his birthday which makes me really sad. The day started with Doran and I getting up before everyone else and blowing up green balloons for Brocky. Then Seth and Brock came out about half an hour later and Brock opened his presents. He kept telling us that he wanted more presents.
After that we went to Domi's baptism. It was awesome and the boys really loved watching him get baptized. After that we went to Brick Oven for Brocky's birthday lunch. He didn't eat any of his pizza, but he ate the icecream and sucker they brought out for him. Later in the evening we had his birthday party at Leatherby's, his and Seth's favorite place. He didn't really eat much icecream, but he sure played with the toppings. It was a pretty fun day. Now we have a 3 year old and a 4 year old.
Here a couple funny pictures I took with my cell phone. Brock has taken on my bad habbit of nail biting, but he has taken it to a new extreme! He bites his toe nails! YUCK! He calls all his nails fingers and when he is biting and I make him stop he will yell at me that he wants to 'eat the finger'.
Doran flexing his muscles! Brock has also started to fake cry. He will keep his eyes shut and just wail and wail! It is AWESOME! Sometimes after he is done he will say, 'I cried like a baby, huh?' He says huh after everything. It is cute. Love the little guy!

Family and New Year's!

On Christmas day my Dad and family and Ryan and his family all came to Utah. It was so fun to see everyone! We ate lots of food (including Dad's prime rib) and I gained a few pounds atleast! It was crazy how much Ryan and Emily's kids have changed since May. It always makes New Year seem depressing to me to be saying good bye to my family.

On a side note, I played in two fantasy leagues this season. On the one where I had a sweet team I won! In the other league Seth won and I came in 5th. Seth doesn't think he will ever play again because it was making him cheer for teams he didn't like. I think as long as I never draft a Cowboy I will be ok. Some weeks it was a little depressing to do bad, but overall I thought it was really fun!
