6 Month Appointment

Seth had his 6 month appointment today. Seth is 20 lbs and 28 1/2 inches long. He is a long boy! I love our pediatrician here. He is so friendly to the kids and he seriously played with Seth for the first 5 minutes before he did his routine exam. He was holding him, putting him up in the air, and just making him giggle. Seth loved him and so did Tate. Tate was talking his ear off. I love doctors like that, because then your kids are not scared to go see them. Something I am not really looking forward to is now having to put Seth in the big car seat. He no longer fits in the carrier. I wish I didn't have to do this yet. Now I will have to take him out everywhere instead of just grabbing his carrier and putting it in the grocery cart, etc.

Pow Pow Powerwheels

This is Tate's ride. It is a Pow Pow Powerful Barbie Jeep. She loves it! This is the first summer that Tatum has been able to drive it on her own. Last summer she couldn't reach the pedal (we had to use a long stick to push the pedal for her while she rode it) and didn't understand that she had to turn the wheel before crashing into anything. When we got it out yesterday, Tate started crying and said that Sammy is supposed to ride it with her. She still misses him like crazy! But, she settled for taking Seth for a ride and ended up thinking it was the coolest thing to be able to drive her little bro around. Seth just played with the phone and enjoyed the ride. He would get a concerned look on his face at times, but I think he had fun. Colby had to help hold him up because every time Tate pushed the pedal it would jerk him back. I will have to think of a way to add shoulder straps to it!

New Haircut for Preschool

Yesterday I took Tatum to get her haircut. I wanted to cut it one more time before letting her grow it out. Anyway, while she was climbing into the chair, she told the girl cutting it that she needs a cute haircut because she starts preschool next week. It was so cute. Tatum is very excited to start school. She met her teacher and saw her class last week. It was so fun seeing where she will be hanging up her little backpack. I am super excited for her to start only because I think she will have a blast. I am sure it will be a long couple of hours while she is gone though.

Couple pictures of Seth. I can't get enough of him.

Are you kidding me...

You think I would be excited or proud to say this, but I am really sad about it. I know it isn't a big deal at all, but to me it just means that Seth is getting big, which I really don't want to happen. He will barely be six months old this week! Anyway, Seth now looks like a little vampire baby because he now has his two upper canine teeth.
I remember being super excited about Tate getting her first tooth, but with the second kid it is just different!

Wet Bums...

Even though it has been rainy here the last couple of days, that hasn't stopped Tatum and her friends from playing at the park. They actually really enjoyed the weather that day because the slides weren't too hot to go on. They had a blast going down the slides and climbing up the rock wall. Oh, and don't forget about the tire swing! It was fun watching all the kids pile on the swing and spin around. They kept yelling, "We want to go faster." When Tatum got off, she literally fell over. We left the park that day with wet bums, but happy kids!

Tatum and Clara making their way to the top of the wall.

This is Tatum with Clara, Micah, Deeken, and Noah on the swing.

My week with Annie...

Annie came to visit me this last week and I can't tell you how excited I was. It felt like Christmas!!! I miss hanging out with her so much and we had a ton of fun. She brought her cute little boy Boston who Tatum loved. Tate would make Boston laugh so hard. She liked playing with Boston more than with Seth because Boston would laugh a ton at her. I keep telling Tatum that Seth will do the same thing when he gets a little older, but she just keeps saying "I know, but I just want Boston." Seth (6 months old) and Boston (8 months old) also had fun staring at one another, playing with their toys, and pulling at each others clothes. I noticed Seth got a little jealous of the attention Tate was giving Boston. It was cute.
Anyway, we had a ton of fun with them here. We always laugh so hard when we are together. We went to a couple of parks, went swimming, out to eat, had a little photo shoot with the kids, and just hung out and laughed our heads off. I think Colby got sick of hearing our stories about how much fun we had before we were married.
Thanks for coming to visit Annie!
Here are some pictures of our great week.

As you can see, Boston has a ton of more hair than Seth. Seth has none!

Hanging out at the pool.

Taters and Boston. Boston looks a little worn out!

6 Years!!!!

I know I am a little late posting this, but we celebrated our six year anniversary on August 2nd. We decided for our anniversary this year we would make it a family event. It ended up being really fun. We took Tatum and Seth to see the movie Walle. It was a cute movie and Seth did better in the movie than Tate. For dinner we went to The Old Spaghetti Factory. We haven't been there for so long and it was so good. After dinner we headed over to Riverfront Park to let Tate ride the rides. Riverfront Park was celebrating their 50th anniversary or something like that, so it was only $6.00 for her to ride the rides as many times as she wanted to. So... she rode the airplanes about six times, the train two times, rode in the boats, jumped in a jumper thing for about five minutes before peeing her pants, and then rode the airplanes again on the way out of the park. It was fun!!

O.K., you can have your way...

How can you not give the boy what he wants after pulling a face like this. He has us wrapped around his little finger!

My Little Girl

Yesterday I was with Tatum in her room and we were coloring. We just got done talking about something so we both were quiet at the time. As she was coloring she said to me....
(Tate) "Mom, I am sorry that I have to grow up."
(Me) "What?"
(Tate) "I'm sorry that I am growing up."
Then she started crying. Tears and all! She goes on saying...
(Tate) "But I don't want to grow up. I want to stay little for a lot longer."
(Me-with tears in my eyes now) "You will be little for a long time. You are only 3. You have plenty of time to be little and not grow up."
(Tate) "But I keep getting bigger and bigger and it makes me sad." "It hurts my feelings."  "I don't want to get bigger like Isabella and ride skateboards." (Isabella is our neighbor who is ten years old.)  "I just want to stay little and be your little girl all the time and have you hold me."
(Me) "It will be fun getting bigger, but you have a long time before you have to grow up." "You will always be my little girl even when you are bigger."

This conversation I had with Tate made me so sad! Deep down I don't want her to get bigger. I want her to always stay little and want me to hold her. Time just goes by so fast. You just have to remember to take in every moment you have together.

Go Dara Torres

I am sure you have all heard of Dara Torres. She is the first American swimmer to compete in five Olympics: 1984, 1988, 1992, 2000, and 2008. She will soon compete in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in the 50 and 100 meter freestyle events. She will be the oldest female swimmer ever to compete in the olympic games. She has a two year little girl and don't forget that she is 41 years old with an amazing body! I think I need to hire a personal trainer!!!
Watch for her in the olympics.

Here is an interview with her on the Today show. Check it out!

Here is a picture of Dara during her daily workout. Check out those arms!!

I posted this picture so you all had an idea of what my ABS look like! Mine just have a little more fat and not as many lines to separate each ab. But pretty close though! YEAH RIGHT!!!!

Did I mention she was 41?

The Twilight Saga Continues...

For all of you husbands out there whose wives obsess about Edward, I feel for you. My wife can't think of anything else except Edward. But if you want some comic relief, go to mormonhusbands.blogspot.com and the dude wrote his own version of this latest book. It is way funny. Check it out.

Edward is back...

I have to admit that I am still in love with these books. I just thought I would remind you (Jamie, Leslie, Annie, Heidi, & Becky) that it is out now to buy, so get on it!!!! :)
