Do I still live in Wisconsin?

So I have been having flashbacks of Wisconsin these last couple of days when it comes to the weather. The temp here in Spokane has been in the low teens and it has even been in the single digits for the high a couple of days this week. Yesterday morning we got hit with a huge snow storm. They have said, "they haven't experienced a storm this bad since the early 60's." Since this storm is the NEW record for Spokane, the news has made it a HUGE deal. For example, the news has been on ALL DAY  and they have been doing nothing but show you different roads, the forecast, and different pictures of the snow. It is just like in Wisconsin when there is "going to be a Tornado" and they talk about it all day on the news so you miss all the good shows like Ellen!!!! Anyway, by 10 A.M. today it has snowed a total of 20'' here. It is still snowing, so the total will be more by tomorrow.  Spokane doesn't salt or do anything to the roads because it is super bad for the environment. They just plow the roads they can get to and close down a ton of streets (mostly those with hills).
Today after Colby woke up from his morning nap (he is on night float right now which I can't wait for to be over) we decided to go out and drive around in it since we have four wheel drive now. We decided that we have to use our 4-wheel drive as much as we can while we are here since it most likely won't be used in Texas. Anyway, while we were headed to Blockbuster there were a bunch of people walking to the store with snow shoes on and we took a picture of a van that we honestly thought was a pile of snow from the snow plow.

This first picture is a picture of Colby's car. It is a little Toyota, Corolla. If you look lower down, you will see a whole in the snow. That is the door mirror. So you can kind of see how buried his car is and how much snow is on top.
This is a picture of a minivan (I think) in Blockbusters parking lot. All that is sticking out is the door mirror and the antenna if you look closely.

No Fair!!

When Tate woke up a couple of days ago and saw the snow outside she got so excited. She had to go out and play in it even though it was freezing and the wind was blowing like crazy. She put on all her snow gear and headed out onto the porch. Seth loves to play with Tate and follows her around everywhere. He was so bummed when she went outside and he couldn't go. He watched her and was banging on the sliding door the whole time she was out there. I think Tate felt bad knowing that she was outside and Seth wasn't, because she kept opening the door and putting snow on the carpet for him to play with. It was so sweet of her and of course Seth just ate the snow as soon as he saw it.

After he had fun playing with some snow, he fell and slammed his head against our heat vent and ended up with a huge bump on his head. It is right above his eye.

Gingerbread House

Tate was so serious about making her Gingerbread House this year. She had to put the same candy in the same colors on the house exactly how they were on the picture. She would stare at the picture while decorating it to make sure she was putting the right candy and color on where it went. She got mad at me when I didn't put green frosting on the door. She is such a perfectionist. Let me just tell you how glad I am that these things are pretty strong. Seth of course pulled it down onto the lower counter and it landed right on the roof. I was so worried that the roof collapsed, but nothing happened and Tate has no idea that her house about broke.

Dancing Queen

I was able to put Tatum in a dance class with a couple of her friends, Abby and Micah. She has only had one class, but so far she loves it. We had to get her a black leotard and pink tights. They will have a recital sometime in Spring. Even though girls are more dramatic, they are so much fun. I am so glad I have a girl that most likely will love to go shopping with me, do her nails, get her hair done, etc. I know Colby is looking forward to it!!!

Seth the Chef

Seth's new love (besides our Christmas tree) is the kitchen in Tates room. He LOVES it! It is fun to watch Tate and Seth play kitchen together. Tate makes him pretend food and of course Seth eats it! (He eats everything)

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...

I don't know if our tree is going to last all the way through December. Seth seriously attacks it! He has pulled off the berries, the lights on the bottom, and is constantly trying to eat the ornaments. The best part about it is that he giggles when I tell him no. If he is going to play in the front room, he either has to be in his walker thing or I have to sit on the floor with him the whole time. Our ornaments are all slowly moving up the tree. I think I might wait a couple more weeks before putting any wrapped presents under the tree!

Residency Christmas Party

We had a Christmas party with the other residents in the same program as Colbs. It was nice being able to go and hang out with all of them without kids. We had dinner, talked a ton, and of course had a white elephant gift exchange. Some people come up with the best ideas for a white elephant gift. We came home with a "New Fasten it Yourself Kit, RiveTool set." The date on the box is 1963.  According to the box I can "POP" rivets pretty much into anything, such as a gutter, anywhere on a car, racing carts, TV antenna, and pretty much anything else that is metal.

9 MONTHS OLD

I know I always say, "I can't believe he is this old," but I seriously can't believe Seth will be ONE in just a few months. It is so sad!!!!! I am obsessed with this little guy. I don't want him to get any older. He had his 9 month appointment today and he HATED it. They had to check his iron so they pricked his toe and it was the end of the world. He started crying/screaming, wouldn't let the doctor check him out, and wouldn't even sit on the table. He kept burying his head into my shoulder. I felt so bad knowing that he still had to get his booster shot for the flu. The best part about it all was Tate in the background not screaming, but saying VERY loudly (she doesn't have any volume control) "Seth, Sethers, buddy, it's o.k., your o.k., I love you, your sister is here" while she was plugging her own ears because he was screaming so loud. Our Pediatrician unplugged her ears to let her know the shot was over. It is so cute watching her worry about him. She loves him so much and is such a good big sister. Anyway, Seth was 23 lbs and 29 1/2 inches long. I seriously can't keep this boy in pants for longer than two months before they become floods!!

Finding our Christmas Tree...

This year will be our first year to stay home for Christmas. We usually go to Utah for the Holidays, but since we will be staying home this year we decided to get a real Christmas tree. We went up to Green Bluffs to cut one down. It was a lot of fun. Tate thought it was funny throwing snow at us, but was upset once her hands were all wet and cold. We found our tree though and it is all set up in our house. The best part about a real tree is that it makes your house smell so good!

Here is part of the tree lot.

Here is our tree before Colb cut it down.

After you cut it down, you put it on this "thing" to pull it to your car.

Every year I want to make it a tradition to have a tree in the kids room as well. Our kids will pick out one new ornament every year to add to the tree that goes in their room. So far Tatum has three ornaments (plus a little that I have added so it doesn't look totally bare!!!) This is her little tree that goes in her room until she is bigger. She loves it! She dances around her room with her little tree's lights on. She was so excited to get it out this year. Here is a picture of her getting it ready.

Poor BYU Fans... UTAH 48 & BYU 24

I just wanted to remind you all that the Utes totally beat BYU. I don't care if you say, "well, it was a close game at the beginning," because that doesn't matter. What matters is the final score which was UTAH 48 and BYU 24!!! Need I say more!
Also, for all of those BYU fans that decided to root for the Utes once BYU lost to TCU and you knew they didn't have a chance, (you know who you are), you are not a true Utah fan. You can't switch teams half way through the season!
 Go UTES!

Danny, me, Jesi, and Mac.
Alana and me trying to make it to our seats. The halls were crazy!!!!

UTAH

We made another trip to Utah and again had a ton of fun. Colby wasn't able to come with us this time because he was busy working his 13 hour shifts at the hospital. While we were in Utah we all went to Disney on Ice.  Tate of course LOVED it and I highly recommend it to anyone with little kids. The costumes, singing, etc, was great!! There were 6 adults that went and Tatum. We were all entertained the whole time.  Tate also rode Twist, my sisters horse, while we were there. She now is jumping Twist bareback!! jk  Lets not forget about EDWARD!!! I saw Twilight while I was there. I have to admit that I thought some parts could have been better, such as some of the special effects, (think about other movies like Harry Potter and the special effects in those movies, but maybe they didn't have a ton of money for the movie), Jasper looked like he was super constipated during the first half of the movie, and maybe they could have left out the super cheesy part where Edward calls Bella his "little spider monkey," but besides all that I fell in love with Edward all over again. I thought the characters were all great, especially Edward!!!!

Here is a picture of my mom, Jesi, me, and Annie at the movie. Yes, my mom has vampire teeth in!!!!!!
Taters riding bareback right after she landed her first jump!!!! :)

Disney on Ice. Tatum had a ton of sugar that night. She had a snow cone and ate almost the whole bag of cotton candy.

Dorthy and The Lion

Ever since my Aunt Renee sent Tatum "The Wizard of Oz" movie, she has been obsessed with it. She loves it!!!! So, for Halloween this year Tatum wanted to be Dorthy and wanted Seth to be The Lion.  Halloween was a lot of fun this year. We made sugar cookies  (Tatum has tried to eat all the frosting off of them since), carved pumpkins, went Trick-or-Treating, and went to a fun Halloween party. I had so many pictures to post, so keep strolling down to see them all. You will see pictures of Colby as Ms. America!!!! Here are some pictures I thought were cute of the kids in their Halloween costumes. You will see what Spokane looks like in the Fall. It is so pretty here right now!

Halloween Fun

The kids had fun trying on the wig and crazy glasses.
