So I have been having flashbacks of Wisconsin these last couple of days when it comes to the weather. The temp here in Spokane has been in the low teens and it has even been in the single digits for the high a couple of days this week. Yesterday morning we got hit with a huge snow storm. They have said, "they haven't experienced a storm this bad since the early 60's." Since this storm is the NEW record for Spokane, the news has made it a HUGE deal. For example, the news has been on ALL DAY and they have been doing nothing but show you different roads, the forecast, and different pictures of the snow. It is just like in Wisconsin when there is "going to be a Tornado" and they talk about it all day on the news so you miss all the good shows like Ellen!!!! Anyway, by 10 A.M. today it has snowed a total of 20'' here. It is still snowing, so the total will be more by tomorrow. Spokane doesn't salt or do anything to the roads because it is super bad for the environment. They just plow the roads they can get to and close down a ton of streets (mostly those with hills).
Today after Colby woke up from his morning nap (he is on night float right now which I can't wait for to be over) we decided to go out and drive around in it since we have four wheel drive now. We decided that we have to use our 4-wheel drive as much as we can while we are here since it most likely won't be used in Texas. Anyway, while we were headed to Blockbuster there were a bunch of people walking to the store with snow shoes on and we took a picture of a van that we honestly thought was a pile of snow from the snow plow.
This first picture is a picture of Colby's car. It is a little Toyota, Corolla. If you look lower down, you will see a whole in the snow. That is the door mirror. So you can kind of see how buried his car is and how much snow is on top.
This is a picture of a minivan (I think) in Blockbusters parking lot. All that is sticking out is the door mirror and the antenna if you look closely. Tatum's snowman on our balcony.
