Finals are next week.

I made my Christmas letter yesterday and Now I just need to address them and send them out. I would feel accomplished if I didn't do that to procrastinate writing papers, but hey at least one thing is done.

Finals are next week and we are studying like crazy people. I have a take home final and an in-class final for one class and a portfolio to hand in for another class. Endrit takes his second final on Friday so that leaves him with 1 final left for Tuesday. We will be greatful once they are over.

Not much has happened. Another storm is supposed to blow through this weekend. I am not too excited about that but we need the snowpack. That is it for now.

INS says "say cheese!!"

Another Picture for the INS. Proof that we still like each other. Endrit thought that the snow background was cute. I think he just wanted a picture. It is cold and I am glad that mom gave me an intermediate jacket to wear. Leather too cold, trench coat, too big! It is still snowing so lets see how much the skiers and snowboarders will b happy this weekend

December 1...Lotsa snow on the ground when we woke up. We actually woke up to no power. It is pretty, but not too much fun to drive in. We had to drive to Smith's to return the rented DVDs (Live Free or Die Hard is a great movie!) and driving back up the hill to the benches where we live was like driving on an ice rink! It is borderline miserable. It looks pretty but I still don't think that it is worth it in the end to have to walk in it for the rest of winter. The picture above is of our little army dude on our antenna. I just thought that he was too cute to not deserve a picture.

Update.

Thanksgiving has passed and so my rules no longer apply with no Christmas songs and no snow. It is funny because Snow is predicted for today and my aerobics teacher is starting to use Christmas songs for our cool-down music. Oh well. I just think it is funny to streach to rudolf the red-nosed raindeer.
There is only 2 weeks of the semester left. Endrit and I couldn't be happier. Hopefuly that happiness will stay with us as the semester grades get posted. I am sure that we will do great.
Not much has changed around here. My house is dirty because of the looning end of semester. My visiting teachers are coming today so I need to clean. My landlords have banned my neighbors from smoking on the stairs and that makes me happy. We are swamped with homework. I was in Lab from 2-5:55 last night; almost an hour over the regular lab time. I am petitioning the geology department today to be able to get both bachelors and masters degrees rather than just a bachelors. Busy busy busy. I should be starting to go back to work over the Christmas break. Endrit will be doing research over the break as well. In other words he will start to be a little happier now that he can research. That is what he lives to do.
I am officially 22 now for almost a week. It is interesting how the years fly. I know that I am still quite young, but I am getting older. That is about it. My ramblings...

Goodness

I have been sick for the last few days. It has been crazy because the doctors actually thought that I had a good chance of being the first Flu patient of the year. Thankfully that was proved to be false. I just have a bad case of the sniffles. If you were wondering about the comic...yes Endrit was the one that gave me the cold. Fortunatley for him he only had it for a day or two over the weekend.
Tis the season to be pregnant. Fa La La La La La La La La. No I'm not, but I have had at least 5 pregnancy announcements given to me in the last week or so.

I know that you don't know many of these people but holy cow. I am happy for them, but sheesh. I will try not to have a May-July baby just for these reasons. Too many people have babies at the same time. I also have a way that I want to have my babies and I don't want those rooms taken. I think that there are only 2 of them in the Univerity of Utah Hospital. I know that I shouldn't be thinking of things like that, but oh well, It is right in front of me right now.
I really hope that the semester ends well. It has royally sucked thus far. I am hoping that it gets a little bit better next semester. I get to register for classes this afternoon so time goes on...

wedding band

Here is my ring...I hope you like it...I do!

10/19/07

The benifits of being a poor college student.

There is a picture of my ring with the wax model of the wedding band with it...I love it and it had exceeded my expectations. I will be picking it up on Saterday and will post an actual picture of my ring after that.
There are many benifits to being a poor married college student in America. First there is a little thing called the FAFSA that gives you grants and subsidized loans (subsidized loans you don't have to pay the intrest while you are in school grants you don't have to pay back at all) With the onset of this semester I got enough grants and subsidized loans to pay for my out of state tuition with the addition of another source of help as well. Almost $9,000 all together. Today I recieve an email saying that I have another $2,000 in the mail in a late to reward grant. Oh the joys of being poor...that means that I can pay off my wedding band rather than puting it on credit!! The great thing about this grant is that I can get $4,000 my jr. year and $4,000 my sr. year. I got this supposedly my last semester of my Jr. year missing out on $2,000. At this university I am1 credit shy of being a sr. which gave me the second semester of jr. money...I still have 1 full year of this grant! Needless to say I am very happy today!

pumpkin patch

I don't have the picture of the pumpkin patch, but it was really fun. I was able to go with Endrit and Alex and Brydie and their kids and Cooper and Allie Mae and grandma and grandpa. It was fun to be able to play with the kids that I don't get to see too often. Of course uncle Endrit was the favorite but that is just his personality.
Endrit has been able to get 2 of his 3 grades for this last quarter and so far he is passing with flying colors. A- in inorganic and B in Physical organic...Spectroscopy grade yet to come.
I finnished my first round of teaching. For the most part it went really well. There was one class that got me really frazzled, but tis the life of a teacher in training. The rest I was able to get all the facts inside their little heads. It will be interesting with the second round of lessons.
I am getting an early birthday present. After almost 2.5 years of marriage I am getting my wedding band. We went to the jewlers last weekend and custom designed the band. It will be interesting. I should be able to get the ring on Saturday. The funny thing is that I asked the jewler for a loner ring and they actually gave me one. It is nice that they have things like that so that I can stay looking married without buying another ring.
That is all...pictures probably to come.

Look mom...I fit!

My kitty is a model. I was randomly taking pictures of him as he was tunneling through the sheets on my bed. This picture was so funny to me because it looks like the old time pictures of kids looking into a light off to the side rather than head on. I just thought that he was really cute in this picture.

I feel like I have been able to find the perfect spontaneous gift for Endrit. I really hate the little diploma holders that they give out so I decided to frame his with his tassle. He loves it. I feel like a good wife.
Here is proof...Winter has hit. At least the first snow has hit. I took this picture today at about noon as it was 38 degrees outside and snow was falling. It is so depressing. Oh well. Again I will talk about my heater. It works and I love it. It may be cold outside but just put on my p.j.s and I am toasty warm."Look mom...I fit"
Dexter is so funny. He tries to fit into the smallest boxes. What I love is that he stays in it for me to take his picture. I wonder the funny things that I will catch when I have 2 kitties.
Endrit is taking all of his finals next week. He takes his classes in quarters rather than semesters so after fall break he starts the next round of classes. He is amazing. Plus he has all of his labs to teach. I also have a test next week so yeah for the Shurdha family. It will be a stressful week next week.

Fall

Yes indeed Fall hit this last weekend. I fing myself happily walking to school with a nice leather jacket to keep me nice and toasty. Oh and I can't forget my fall leather gloves either. I have had my first sinus episode for the year and it seems like it will be a long winter. Oh well, at least this winter I will not be on immunosupressants. I may actually not get sick.
The heater in my apartment turned on yesterday. It was so nice and warm. In my last apartment only 1 of the heaters worked and it was in the bathroom. Kept the toilet warm but not much else. I have started to open my blinds later in the day in the front room to catch the afternoon rays. It is beautiful.
I feel like I have been neglecting nature. The hillsides are so inviting with the beautiful fall colors. I have yet to go and take advantage of the beauty for pictures and things like that. Possibly the trees will stay pretty in sardine until next weekend. I think with how busy Endrit is that will be the first time that we will be able to get out of the house for an extended period of time. Along with the beautiful fall colors, winter hit. The mountains are tipped with snow from the last storm that blew through. It is beautiful from afar but a constant reminder that winter is knocking on the door.
That is all. Everyone have a great day.

comics.

I feel bad for the people that read this right now because most of the blogs are all purtified with pictures and all that stuff. Endrit and I live a kind of boring life. We have no kids to take pictures of...we do have a cat if that counts. Hay I do have a picture of the cat...

We love the kittie...This is an old picture of him. He is probably double the size now. We will be getting another kitten (probably aobut 6 months old) in August after the family reunion. Endrit doesn't want his parents to have to babysit 2 cats. I want to adopt it now. We even have names picked out: Jimmy for a boy and Dee Dee for a girl.

Wow that got off topic. As for the little comic at the top...I think that is what I will start doing at the top of all of my blogs. I think it makes it interesting. And now you will know my sick sence of humor. I will start off good for now.

That is all...

Gots to love the family

Rachel, Endrit, Garry, Sara, Richard, Melissa, Allie Mae, Phillip
Charollete, Heidi, Savannah, Isaac, England, Mom, Bridger, Dad, Maclain, Alex, Rilynn, Brydie
Somewhere is Cooper...

This is the huge smith family without grandkids being done yet. Actually there is a grandkid missing and I am not sure why...Cooper where are you? It is funny because the last time that we had a family picture there was a certian person pregnant...in this one she is yet again pregnant! how funny is that. We can just never keep up. Just kidding I am happy for her. There is also another preggo there but I am not sure if it is being announced or if it has been confirmed yet. Who knows...9 months from now there may just be 2 more little ones to picture.

9/11/07

I quit.

It is really sad to admit, but I just couldn't hack school this semester. I thought that I could do more things than I actually could do. It makes me sad to have to do this by dropping my physics class, but it was just too overpowering. I may actually end up graduating a semester late but it is the price that I will pay for wanting it a little bit easier. It makes me sad because of the whole when to have children issue, but I know that this is what I am supposed to be doing. I can't be stressed all of the time. Hey...I don't have 2 labs in one day now. That is a definate plus!

9/4/07

Procrastination

I should be doing homework, but I thought that I would jump in on the blogger bandwaggon.
Endrit and I are happily moved to Salt Lake and we love everything about it here. We have started school (about 2 weeks now) and it is very much different than Idaho State. They are crazy here!! Oh well I think that I am getting a better education. Endrit starts his teaching next week and he is not excited at all about that. I just say oh well.
I had to quit my job so I don't have to go to work any more until I want to. I will still be on the poayroll but I don't have scheduled hours. It is really nice. Not that it makes me have any more time. I guess that I could tell you about my weekend, but that will have to wait...Homework time :)
