After the storm...

Rained ALL night w/ lightening and thunder!  Wet sand, but we found the sun!!
Jesse's seminary was even canceled...  A real storm for the island.
BUT the sand was use-able and the sun was warm so us sun worshipers
FOUND the sun!
NO, we did not go into the water!  Are you surprised?
Still pretty even in a churned up state...

Kauaian style Christmas weekend

Sat. we performed ukulele at the mall by Santa.
A Hawaiian Christmas village scene, lovin' it!!
Fun bright lights, the violin students are playing here in two Sats.
Hawaiian snowlady.
Tree light festival and parade, some winter clothes on some people...
About a 60 minute parade last night down main-Rice St.  and Kauai Chorale sang for it
before the lights were turned on and the parade started.  It was nice!!

Dad Michael's Surveying COMPLETED!

There is now a use-able road where there was only cane field before.
This all had to be leveled and surveyed many times to get the road and
guard rail and sidewalk put in.
This was the territory that Dad Michael hiked to measure and hammer in stakes w/ bright pink ribbons on them so the area could be built up.  Like, where would you START??
And a shopping mall is almost completed, with road and sidewalks.
Even has trees planted!  All on pretty FLAT ground...
More of the MALL, come shop w/ us this next year!!
The new round-about finished and looking really good.
Dad Michael had to center this area and help measure for water pipes, electric wires
and all that is in this picture.  Only it was all red dirt back then!!
FUN to see it become use-able!!
A little piece of Michael's work left here on the island, good job Michael!!
Can't WAIT to shop THAT new mall!!!

'Tis the season...

My favorite quote is Jesus is the reason for this season...
Gotta give Santa a bit of celebratin' too~
So we are festive decoratin', lights & tree...  Glad Jax is doing the BIG decorating
project for HER house!!  Ours is a little project, took 1/2 hr. to get it done!
Then to the BEACH!!
Likin' palm trees at Christmas~ Merry Christmas season and Happy December!

DAD Michael ON the island!

This is our friend, Nutmeg Man...  He's back to the island for the winter.
He walks the beach everyday for 5 miles and swims for 3 miles...  We are
betting he is 80 yrs. and he lives in Philly during the summer.  We've watched
him for 5 yrs. spend the winter here, he dances up a storm at the Point w/ the
surf band TOO!  This was our first sighting this season, so I had to blog it!
Kinda like when we first see the whales jump for the season!!
Beautiful day at the beach, no crowd...
This is Michael's friend Bob, we call him the island Santa!!  He worked w/
Michael at the surveying sight.  No crowd on this side of the beach...
Storm moved in!!!
Dad Michael DID get back to the island after 7 whole weeks of mainland life!
SO nice to have him back...  The first day the weather turned into VOG, volcano fog
and was a weird wind, then we had two GREAT sunny days to beach and now it is
blowing up a storm!!  THE whole option, Jesse says it is Beautiful sunny or Dreary wet
NO in between...
He went and got his race car and washed it...  A sunny day!
Clean car and our apt. and CRV.
The BOYS at the beach,  I really don't think SANTA lives at the North Pole
when HE can be a the beach 11 months a year!!!?
Gettin' ready for a Christmas picture...
The vog in the sky and the cruise ship in the harbor...  We were going on one
of these for Michael's bday, #60, BUT that will be NEXT year...  Welcome back, Michael!
