Halloween

Today began our weekend of festivities leading up to Halloween on Monday.  Brayden had a parade at school as well as a Halloween party in his class.  He sure made a cute ninja.  The parade started at 9:30 and to be honest I really wasn't sure what to expect.  It ended up being a much more organized parade then I had anticipated.  They had chairs set up in rows in the cafeteria and gym area and the classes all just walked down the aisles and ended up outside on the playground and then they headed back to class.  The parade took about 45 minutes and then the fun began in class.  They played some fun games, got to decorate sugar cookies and dip caramel apples.  It's really quite ironic how much Brayden enjoys Halloween when he absolutely HATES any sort of candy.  I take it back he does enjoy an occasional Dum Dum sucker but that is about it.  So really all the candy he gets either has to be eaten by me and Josh or it goes to waste.  Today when he had gotten home from school he had a bag full of candy untouched and I asked why he didn't eat any of it and he said because I don't like candy.  Yep, what kid doesn't like it?  Anyways, we had a great day together the 2 of us but we are both super excited to have Josh home all weekend!  Let the fun begin :)

Pumpkin Patch

Last night with met up with Adam and Maren and there kids and made our annual visit to the pumpkin patch.  It was cold!  We had a great time though.  Josh and I picked out a pumpkin together and then Brayden picked one out for himself.  At school tomorrow they are having a pumpkin walk so those kids that are interested in bringing there decorated pumpkin to put on display can.  Brayden was all over that so he was on a mission to pick out the perfect one that could be carved and taken to school.  After we got done finding our pumpkins we went back to Adam's house to carve.  We had a such a fun time there.  We talked, the kids played around and Maren had made yummy pie for dessert.

Brayden is getting so excited for Halloween.  We have a fun weekend planned and Josh took all 3 days off at Walmart so he will be home with us.  Yeah!!  Saturday, Josh and I will be going to the Utes Blackout Game. ( Please, please, please don't get blown out this week. Thanks) While we are at the game Brayden is going to hangout with his grandma and Mckaylee and they will be making Halloween sugar cookies.  I'm sure they will have a fun evening together.  Sunday is our Primary Program and Brayden has a part in it so I'm excited to see it.  We've invited both sets of parents to come as well so it'll be nice to have them there.  Monday is Halloween so we will be taking Brayden trick-or-treating.  My mom is having a little get together at her house so we are just going to take him around there neighborhood.

Halloween House...

I really love this time of year.  I love going to the pumpkin patch, decorating pumpkins, and decorating a gingerbread haunted house with Josh and Brayden.  For FHE this last week we decorated the house as our activity.  I love that this has become a yearly tradition for us and I love that Brayden gets so excited to do things like this.  This coming week we are going to the pumpkin patch with Adam and Maren.  We are excited to go do that and hang out with them.

Being Sick is NO Fun!!!

For the last 10 days I have been living with 2 sick people and now I feel like I'm coming down with it as well.  Josh started with it first.  Sore throat, headache, achey body, stuffy nose and fevers.  When he first started with it he didn't feel to bad but by Tuesday he was miserable.  From Tuesday-yesterday he had a fever and felt just horrible.  Because he was so stuffy he couldn't breathe which made sleep and getting rest pretty difficult.  He was up and down each night trying to get comfortable.  He even took Nyquil but it didn't really do much other than make him feel drugged the next morning.  I'm so glad he is finally starting to feel better.  Brayden started with this on Tuesday.  When I picked him up from school I could tell immediately something was wrong and with Josh being sick I wasn't surprised he was probably coming down with it as well.  We were suppose to go on a hike that night for scouts but he felt bad enough and had a slight fever he stayed home with Josh while I went.  I could tell with Brayden it started slow because he made it to school each day but by the time he got home he was exhausted and pretty chilled all evening.  But by Friday it hit him.  I checked him out of school Friday because he felt so bad.  Got him home and he went straight to bed.  He had a fever of 102 consistently from Friday into last night.  I kind of wondered if he had strep because he had complained of a sore throat all week and had a bad cough.  I finally decided to take him to the doctor yesterday just to see because if it was strep I knew he would need an antibiotic.  Thankfully it wasn't strep but he did have an ear infection so he did get some medicine that he has been taking for almost 24 hours.  I seriously thought he was going to die last night though.  He had a fever of 102.6, had the chills and every muscle in his poor little was was achey.  He just laid with me and wanted me to snuggle with him all night.  I felt so bad for him!  He still looks like he feels bad today so hopefully the antibiotic will start to help and he will start feeling better by tomorrow.  I really don't like when Brayden is sick but he sure loves his mom when he is.  Even at 9 years old he loves to have me lay by him.  I woke up this morning with a stuffy nose and a sore throat so I'm really hoping I'm not getting it but with the way it has run from Josh to Brayden it would make sense that I'm next.  If I do get it I hope it passes quickly but since it has lingered with Josh for over a week now I'm not to confident in that.

On the Move...Again

I sure do love these 2 so much!!!

I'm excited to say we are going to be moving in the next month.  We found a townhome up in Herriman that we fell in love with when we walked through it.  It has almost 2300 square feet, a 2 car garage and a unfinished basement.  We really are so excited.  I am sad to be leaving our ward in Bluffdale.  We have lived here for 18 months.  We've met some great people and are comfortable with our surroundings but we feel good about the move.  Brayden has been our main concern in this change.  We just want to make sure he is okay with the change because it means a new school, new friends and new ward for him as well.  He is happy that there will still be a swimming pool that we can use.  I really am so grateful for an easy going kid that is able to go-with-the-flow.  I've learned a lot over the last 2 plus years since we left our home in Eagle Mountain.  I truly am grateful for the things I have been blessed with.  Josh has employment that is making this move possible and we have wonderful family and friends that have been here to love and support us through all these changes.
