Sleevless cardi for Rachele

Rachele yesterday went to a school trip up in the mountain to see a little village where all the houses are decorated with scenes from Pinocchio's story. She needed a wool sleevless cardi to keep her warm and since she has grown so much during this last years, the ones I had made are now too small. We have choosen a nice pink color by Sesia in a fiber I love, Big Fly (merino-silk, so nice to knit). I inspired myself by Zimmermann's tecniques and I knitted everything in the round. She loves it and she went to the school trip really happy with a warm feeling in her heart.

Rachele è andata in gita in un paese di montagna dove tutte le case sono dipinte con delle scene di Pinocchio. Aveva bisogno di un nuovo gilet, perché quelli dell'anno scorso le sono tutti piccoli, è cresciuta così tanto. Abbiamo scelto un dolce rosa pastello in un filato Sesia che adoro, il Big Fly (merino-seta, così morbido da lavorare). Mi sono ispirata alle tecniche della Zimmermann e ho lavorato con i ferri circolari. Rachele lo adora ed è partita felice e coccolata.

knitting a kal

This is my first kal and I am really enjoying it. It has been organized by Manuela, Stefania, and Antonella. They have chosen a beautiful pattern: Forest Canopy by Susan Lawrence. I have chosen an incredible yarn to knit this shawl and very dear to me since it is a gift from San Francisco by my close friend Monica. It is "Claudia Hand Painted Yarn" in unique autumn shades.

Sto partecipando al mio primo kal e mi sto divertendo molto. E' stato organizzato da Manuela, Stefania e Antonella. Hanno scelto un bellissimo pattern, il Forest Canopy di Susan Lawrence e sto usando una lana per me molto speciale, essendo un regalo da San Francisco della mia cara amica Monica. La lana è "Claudia Hand Painted Yarn" in meravigliosi colori autunnali.

A gift for my mother

I knitted and knitted and finished late at night, but the next morning I was ready for my mother's birthday party. I used the beautiful "Silk Blend" yarn by Manos d'Uruguay and "Anna's Wrap" pattern. I had extra 50 grams left, so I added a cowl knitted in the round. To create the special effect, after casting on and before joining in the round, I twisted the casted on stitches once. The simple cowl can also be used as a cool headband.

Ho lavorato sino a sera tardi, ma sono riuscita a finire il progetto per la festa di compleanno di mia madre. Ho utilizzato la meravigliosa lana "Silk Blend" della Manos d'Uruguay e il modello "Anna's Wrap". Con i 50 grammi di lana avanzata, ho creato un collo lavorato con i ferri circolari. Per creare l'effetto dell'attorcigliamento, dopo aver messo su le maglie e prima di unirle sui circolari, ho attorcigliato una volta le maglie sul ferro. Il collo può anche essere usato coma una divertente fascia per la testa.

Hemlock Ring Blanket

I discovered this pattern when I met a friend from Philadelphia, Clarissa and I fell in love with it. It is a blanket knitted in the round designed by Brooklyn Tweed by Jared Flood. I practiced the Magic Loop while knitting the center of the blanket and I used my new circular KnitPicks Zephir....I love them:)

Ho visto per la prima volta questo pattern quando ho incontrato un'amica di Filadelfia, Clarissa, e me ne sono subito innamorata. E' una copertina lavorata in tondo disegnata da Brooklyn Tweed di Jared Flood. Mi sono allenata con il Magic Loop quando ho fatto il fiore centrale del progetto e ho usato i miei nuovi ferri circolari della KnitPicks, Zephir...Li adoro:)

Damson for myself

I enjoyed knitting this new pattern by Ysolda, Damson, and it is also a shawl that is confortable to wear on the shoulders. I used a Fleece Artist's yarn with seacell fibers...a lot of fun to knit.

Finally it is getting cooler here in Italy and I can wear it on my shirts. We have had about 27-30 degrees Celsius...and at the beginning of October it is quite unusual. I must say that I am happy to see clouds and rainy weather...
