the fair!

Ava brought her own spending money and decided to use it on a camel ride!

Every spring we look forward to the fair.  The kids love the rides and I love all the fun fair food!

beach trip

To finish off Spring Break we took a trip to the beach.  The water was still pretty cool but the kids didn't seem to mind! I love going to the beach this time of year without the heat of the summer. Evelyn enjoyed playing in the sand but didn't really like the water.  Maybe once the water's warmer she'll enjoy it more.

Spring Break

Bluebonnets remind me of my Granny Ellis who lived in Bellville, Texas and had lots bluebonnets growing on her property. She also loved to paint bluebonnets. I remember as a child seeing all the beautiful flowers and really wanting to pick some!  However, as a child growing up in Texas I knew good and well that if you picked a bluebonnet you go straight to jail, lol! Who knows if this is true, but it scared me enough not to pick them.  When Dahlia saw these bluebonnets she picked some, and my other kids gasped and said, "Dahlia, you're going to jail!"

The kids are out for Spring Break this week.  On Monday and Tuesday we went to the little town of Brenham to do some sight seeing and see the bluebonnets.  This part of Texas is know for beautiful bluebonnets, which pop up everywhere during the Spring.  When we visited they were just starting to bloom.  I can only imagine how beautiful it is when the flowers are in full bloom!  While we in Brenham we also visited a historic cemetery, went to a park where the original Baylor University once stood, walked around the cute downtown, and visited the Blue Bell creamery. At the creamery they sold huge scoops of ice cream for only $1 and they had flavors which aren't carried in stores.  I had lemon and it was so good!

18 months

This little rascal is now 18 months old!  At 18 months old Evelyn is a little bundle of energy.  She is on the go all day long, pulling out all the books, finding crayons and scribbling on the wall, and getting into anything else she can get her hands on.  Good thing she is so cute!  She is talking up a storm, much of it I can't understand, lol! Evelyn loves to eat strawberries, after she eats one she'll walk over to the fridge and say, "more!" I think if I let her she would eat the whole container. Evelyn hates when I try and fix her hair, and will say, "owie!" Any time she gives a kiss she will say, "muah" really loud. She is such a sweet baby!
