Dahlia is a busy little girl these days, who is full of energy. She loves riding her little car as fast as she can, around the house, yelling, "charge!". She likes to pick out her own outfits, loves to color and draw and take all the books off of the shelves. She is still attached to her friend the "paci", who helped her get through some rough days in the hospital. Dahlia is so close to walking. She wants so bad to keep up with her brothers and sisters and cousins. I can't wait for her to be able to run around with them!

vacation!
Last week we went on the annual Ochoa family vacation. This year we to Galveston and stayed in a lovely home, which was located in the historic district and built in 1914. It had lots of character and included a pirate themed basement and a creepy attic with stairs leading up to it. The kids spent most of their time down in the basement playing games. We made our way to the beach a couple of times, which had us wishing we were still on a beautiful Florida beach. The muddy beach was completely covered with seaweed, which stunk really bad. One of the days we were there my family, who live close to Galveston, came down to go to the beach with us. The water was really rough and choppy, which the kids loved playing in. What Galveston lacks in beautiful beaches, it makes up for with historic charm. We toured two beautiful mansions and enjoyed shopping on the historic Strand, which is filled with grand old buildings. In order to enjoy some nicer water, we went to a water park, which had fireworks at night. I think this was one of everyone's favorite activities. As always, we stayed up way too late, ate lots of good food and played lots of games. This is such a fun tradition, that I hope continues for many years to come.
