Halloween Party 1 - The McGinleys

Ava went to school dressed up in her princess outfit and me of course was the she-devil, my fav character. The teachers at montessori also dressed up. I asked them to take a pic with Ava.

Night time was my adult halloween party at Terri's house. Her house was decorated to the full. It even had a creepy witch who kept laughing in her shrill voice. CREEPY!!
I love everybody's costumes. Very original!! especially Becky and Dylan. She made the costumes herself. And of course who can forget the plug and socket in action.. hahahaha.. it was one hilarious night.. :) LOVE IT!!

Thanksgiving at the Fongs

Had dimsum at Shi-Art Restaurant and then headed to the Fongs for Thanksgiving Dinner. Serene put out a great spread. It was a great family and friends Thanksgiving dinner.
We have a lot to be thankful for especially since we're living in Canada by ourselves without family around. To be able to have families and friends this year to celebrate Thanksgiving was a great blessing.

We're also thankful for our children and good health.

At the Park

Just a regular day at the park..
we have some people re-enacting a scene from the movie "Tian Mi Mi" with the bicycle.. HAHAHA

WIGGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today we went to see wiggles concert.. It was so much fun.
Ava was dancing and singing along, while Colin just looked dumbfounded the whole time.
We saw Christy there and they were sitting at the front row.
Murray passed by our row and i took a pretty close up picture of him.
Simon kinda fell asleep in the middle (he's no fun).

The kids had fun and so was I.


At night we went to Pearl Castle for some tea and ice slushy and some small hotpot (simon's).

A Day at the Library

Took the kids to the library.. and they borrowed 16 books. WOW!!!

Breakfast and Shopping

Ava made breakfast with Simon. It was pancakes.

Then, we went to queensborough for some shopping. Ended up in Tim Horton for some tea time and then to "Lam Chu Kee" for dinner.

Mandalay Rendezvous

We went to Mandalay Restaurant at Steveston for some couples night out.
It has a great atmosphere and we had the upstairs all for ourselves.

Totally Awesome 80's Party

Tonight was Mel & Mike's "Midlife Crisis Party" with an 80's theme. We all have to dress up in 80's fashion. At first I was so worry on what to wear, but then after checking online on the fashion at that time, I found out that I've been dressing in 80's attires ever since Colin's born. I'm stuck in 80s.

We put the kids down and HL's babysitting. I changed into my outfits and then put on some very troubling make up (eww). Then i dressed Simon.
After the dress-ups, we got our pictures taken. Then we left the house..

The party was already happening when we got there. We heard 80's songs on the computer and drinks were flowing already. It was so great. All these people we hung with suddenly felt like we've turned back time and everyone were still in their teens. Hahahahahaha.. it was unbelieveable. I was so pumped.

We're sitting around, me, Carolina and hubby Nick, Simon, and Sheila. Nick mentioned that my hair looked like that movie "Something about Mary". I just blurted out (maybe it's me, maybe it's the alcohol),"maybe that's exactly what I used". HAHAHAHA.. Carolina started to hit my thigh while laughing and everyone were saying "TMI, TMI".. hehehehehe.. it was so funny.

Mommy: Ok.
(opening up the knot and throw the apron to her)
Ava: Mommy, don't throw... you can open your hand and give to me, but don't throw.. throw is bad...
Mommy: I'm sorry Ava...
Ava: That's ok..

I've just been reprimanded by my almost 4 years old.. (*sigh*)...

Quilchena Playground

Went to pick up Ava today at the Terra Nova Montesorri with Colin. They stayed and played at the playground for a little bit. They played so well together some time and today's one of the days. They went up the slide together and then slide down together. Very fun..

One Busy Day

Today's Ava's first day of mandarin school. We have a busy and tight schedule today. We drove to the school in the morning and on the way stopped by McD for some muffins for the kids. Colin pretended to not see me (naughty boy).


Ava went into her class and seated herself at the last row. She got her own name tags for her desk and also on her neck. She was ok at the beginning but when I wanted to leave her, she started to cry. I panicked a little because I had to leave her there so I could go to Sharon's house. Today was also Sharon's housewarming party and also Elisa's surprise birthday party. Finally I managed to leave her and then went to pick up Elisa's cake. Then went directly to Sharon's house. I already got Elisa a birthday present yesterday and I loved it so much I got one for myself also.. hahaha..



The Fongs were there already when we arrived. Then, Elisa came before we managed to get everything ready so we asked the husbands to stall her from entering the kitchen while we got the cake ready. She walked in and we sang happy birthday to her.


Afterwards, the Gothams arrived. We ate and then the kids played. I had to go pick up Ava around 11:30 am because they had some kind of parents teacher meeting. Ava was pretty happy when she saw me. Then she got a little restless during the meeting. I thought she probably won't last too long. Luckily the meeting was not too long, so we left right away back to Sharon's house.



We stayed there until late. Colin skipped nap. We helped the Cheungs to open their new urban barn's sofa. The leather was so soft. The kids ate a lot of things, such as, chips, cakes, ice cream, etc. Then they played, fight and then played again. It was a long fun day. :)

Diamond Demolition Started

Visited the site today to check out the demolition. Mr. Edwin was there already when we got there. The huge excavator was there. Simon said that earlier the kids from the school next door all gathered around the house to watch the excavator worked. Ava and Colin were in awe with the mighty machine also. Ava was a little bit afraid though because of the noises. They only stayed there for a little bit because the playground behind the house was more interested to them.


Huilee was helping me watched Colin and Ava. They played together on the slide. Poor HL had to keep going on the slide with them. It was definitely a very tiring job.

Happy Birthday Kathy and Becky

Went to Mandalay to celebrate Kathy and Becky's birthday. Herjit organized it. I went to Serenity to get some presents for them earlier and found a little something that I hoped they'd like.
I arrived around 7pm and Kathy, Herjit, Melissa, Tracey and Lynda were there already. I gave Kathy her present and she opened it. It was a headband (stripes of pink, purple and brown). She said she loves it. I was so happy. Then more and more girls came. Becky came after awhile and I gave her her present. It was an earring and she wore it right away. Again, I was so happy.

Drinks were ordered. I had a "tropical typhoon" and also a "lemonade stand" cocktail drinks. They were sooooo good. I only had 2 drinks because I still had to drive home. Chitchat-ed with all the girls. I was so damn happy.. :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHY!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECKY!!!
Should definitely do this again sometimes.. whose birthday's next????

Conversation re: school

Scene 1: In the car driving to preschool in the morning

Me: Ava, you'll be going to 2 schools this year, is that ok?
Ava: YEAY!! I love school.
Me: That's good because this Friday you'll be going to this school in the morning (pointing ahead) and that school in the afternoon (pointing to my right).
Ava: But mommy, I want to go now.
Me: yeah, we're going now to 1 school, but friday we're going to 2.
Ava: But I want to go now
Me: (giving up trying to explain..)

Scene 2: In the car driving from preschool back home

Me: Ava, did you have fun at school today?
Ava: (very excitedly answered) Yes mommy
Me: So, what did you do at school today?
Ava: playing tag
Me: and then?
Ava: playing slide
Me: and then?
Ava: and there's a fire
Me: HUH?? what? where?
Ava: at the playground... my friend told me there's fire.
Me: really?
Ava: yea.
Me: (thinking that I'll have to ask the teachers on friday).. so did you have a lot of new friends?
Ava: yea
Me: what are their names?
Ava: I don't know
Me: Did you see your old friends?
Ava: yea
Me: did you play with Steffi?
Ava: (getting tired in playing questions and answers) no
Me: did you play with Marcus?
Ava: yea

Since I noticed that her mood had gone downhill, I stopped my questionings.
So moody!!!

Twilight Kids

The kids were eating lots and lots of blackberries and their mouth looked bloody.
