Tracey's Visit

I was so happy today. Tracey's here with Terri and Nicholas (too bad Owen has to nap!!). I finally see Tracey after so long. Miss her so much. She looked like she lost some weight and I love her bangs. If only she lives here.. hik hik hik.. :(

Nicholas is so big now. Wow.. almost as tall as Ava. I was so surprised. I feel like I haven't been out for the longest time.

Steveston Market

Today we went to Steveston. Grandpa forgot that we took him to the fisherman's wharf before. He thought it was in Chicago. So we went again to refresh his memory. It was market day. So many boats were park at the marina with their catches. We bought 2 lbs of shrimps b/c Simon said he wanted to cook.

At night, Mom, Wei and I did some mask. It was fun. I want to be able to do this again soon. Preferably with all my siblings (yes, lil bro included)

Festival of Light

Today we went to the Festival of Lights at Van Dusen garden. The lights were so beautiful. I think Ava had fun. I hope Colin was warm enough. I believed Grandpa was too cold. Grandpa and grandma were waiting inside the lobby. The weather was really cold.

Merry Xmas

This morning, we gathered around the family room and had a Xmas present opening party.. haha
Ava received the most, then I was next (A lot of presents from Santa.. which I totally love.. hahahahahaha).. It was so fun watching everyone opening their presents. We got it on video camera instead of camera.. so if you want to see those.. will have to wait till Simon has time to post them on www.simonelly.com

Grandparents and Sister Arrived

Finally, today went to pick up my sister and my grandparents. Then, of course, took them to eat. hahaha. Wei loves the food. She took lots of pictures. We went to eat Taiwanese food.

When we got back, they were tired and so we rested a bit. But, alas, it was dinner time again. Since we're all so full, we decided to eat at the japanese restaurant "Guu" at Aberdeen. Again, the foods are yummy there.

Colin's Meet & Greet

Today's the big day for Colin. He got to meet a lot of mommy's friends and their children. We prepared lots of desserts and coffee/tea and some sparkling juices.
Sharon was the first to arrive, then Lynda came, Anne-Louise, Linda, Lea-Anne, Jessica, Susan, Christy, Brigit, Kerry, and last but not least Laura. I feel so grateful to everyone who came. Colin evev received lots of gift even though it's not his birthday. I hope everyone had a great time. I miss you though Tracey... Why, why why do you have to move to Victoria?????

Traditional Medicine.. Will it help??

Went to see the "witch doctor" again today.. hahaha... the "Zhong Yi". He said that I have allergy, but not sure to what. So, I'm supposed to avoid all seafood, nuts, and eggs. I asked him.. eggs? does that means no bread or cakes? and he said yes!!! and my world crumbled. I loveeeeee cakes and now I can't eat them... just kill me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So he gave me these 2 doses of herbs that I'm supposed to cook in water (4.5 cups of water into 1 cup) and to see him again after I finished the herbs. These herbs are so bitter.. I don't like drinking them, but I guess I have no choice. Mom is going to cook them for me... urrgghhh!!

My Baby Bear

He's so cute.. my baby bear. I didn't think I can love anyone else after Ava was born. I was wrong. I love Colin very much too even though he's a more difficult baby. I love both my babies.

The Differences

I have noticed some different treatment between Ava and Colin's baby period from Simon.
Here's the list of the things I've noticed:

1. Ava was a very good baby, so she rarely cried or complained. As for Colin, he's a crier and he complains a lot, esp at night time. Simon used to rush to Ava's rescue whenever she made the slightest sound. But with Colin, he actually said, "Let him cry". His excuse: Because he's a boy, he needs to toughened up (he's not even 1 month old yet
2. Simon used to help a lot with changing Ava's diaper or holding her at night whenever she cried. Now, Simon sleeps downstair. His excuse: He needs to work and look after Ava in the morning (I can accept this b/c Ava has been fussy ever since Colin's home)
3. Simon used to hold Ava while he works and let me sleep. Simon rarely holds Colin.

Ok, those are the most obvious things that I can tell you. You'll be the judge.

Hopefully I'm back

Sorry to all my readers and stalkers. I've been missing blogging for awhile. Hopefully I'm back now. I've been recuperating from the 22 hours birth experience. Also, I'm still in my 1 month confinement period. Been experiencing the utmost unpleasant itchiness. Went to see the traditional chinese medicine doctor. Hopefully after taking these painfully distasteful medicine, my itch can finally go away.
Still have to go back to see the doc on Tuesday. I'll let you know how things go later.

P.S. Sorry, no pictures for now. I don't have the time and energy to photoshop and upload right now.

B-Day

Finally, Colin Ayden Lim was born on Nov 15th, 2007.
The process was long and painful. Was at the hospital on Nov 14th, started the first induction around 9am. Didn't feel any contraction until around 6pm. They were 3 minutes apart. The nurse thought that I'd go into labour soon, but they were not able to pinpoint how many cm dilated I was. After the string was taken out (vaginal induction), the contraction slowed down.

Finally, my doctor said if still not dilated, will give the 2nd induction (oxycodin??). Since the 2nd induction will definitely put me in labour, I asked for epidural and the anaesthetist was only available at 1am. 3 hours after the 2nd induction, I finally went into contraction again, and finally at 6am.. Colin's out.

Steveston and La Cuisson

I had my doc's appt again this morning. Showed him all my rashes and he said nothing he can do. I just have to keep taking Benadryl if i feel itchy. Will finally get induced tomorrow morning. I'm to call the Richmond Hospital at 6am, and be at the hospital at 7, get induced at 8 (this if the maternity ward is not busy, if it's busy, I will get induced the next day.. crap!!). My doc was in his scrub today while examining me. But something is wrong with his pants, b/c i saw his underwear from the side, I think the pants is torn on the side.. hahahaha.. sshhttt!! don't tell.

After lunch (at home), mom, dad and I went to steveston for a walk. We walked from the fisherman's wharf down to where the condos and townhouses were, then walked back and east to garry point park. We walked for at least an hour, but I still didn't feel contractions. Baby really doesn't want to come out.. (*sigh*).

After Ava woke up from her nap, we went to "La Cuisson" for some tea and cakes. We had some japanese cheese cake, custard toast, I drank a pot of creamy strawberry tea. Mom had kiwi ice tea, and Simon drank cappuccino. Ava loves the custard toast. The japanese cheese cake was fluffy and creamy. YUM YUM!!!

Dinner we ate at home, mom cooked again.. yippee!!!

Ava & Apples

As promised, Ava's new haircut. Was kinda hard to capture her b/c she was running around and moving around. Can't sit still for her pictures. She went to apples picking with grandma and grandpa today. The wind was so strong and she was running around and very happy to be outside.

Lunch and dinner we ate at home. Mom's cooking again.. :)

Test and Itch

This morning, I went to get the Non-Stress Test at Richmond Hospital. Everything looks good. Baby's heartbeat, temperature and movement were all good. I just can't get rid of this itch I have on my whole body. I think this is the worst I feel on this whole pregnancy. I've been scratching and applying lotion, powder, anything I can get my hands on to my whole body and the itch is still there.. even worse and worse. Finally, I can't stand it anymore, so I called and left a message for my doc. That was around 11am. I finally heard back from him around 3:30pm (luckily I was not in labor, b/c he'll definitely be late). He told me to get Benadryl and took one. It's an Anti-Histamine, usually is for allergy. I took one and now I feel a little bit better. But I still want the baby to come out soon.

Just cut Ava's hair again. The back was getting long, and I finally cut it shorter. Didn't take picture yet, will take and post tomorrow I think. The sides might not be the same length, but I guess it's not that noticable.. hehehehe (sorry Tracey!!)

Cross my finger and hope that baby will come out soon.. :(

Happy Birthday Ava!!!

Today's Ava's 2nd birthday. We went to lunch at Windsor Palace, then picked up Ava's birthday cake at Janice Bakery. She was fussy on our way home b/c it was passed her nap time. Then, I went out with mom and dad for an hour walk to try to force baby out. hahaha

We had some neighbours and Elisa & family over around 4pm for cake. We didn't do a big party b/c we don't know if I will go into labor or not. Since I was feeling some contraction the night before... but apparently not enough b/c baby's still inside.

We had lots of fun even though we didn't have lots of people. I can't believe so many ppl called and asked me if I had my baby yet. Michelle called and Tracey called. Tracey, even though I did walk for an hour to try to help labor.. I didn't get the chance to do what you said.. eat curry while having sex. hahahahaha.. that was really funny!!!! Ava got lots of presents and she loves the dora dollhouse from Elisa & family.. thanks Elisa, Desmon and Viola.. :)

Hopefully baby will come out soon...

On our way back from Richmond Centre after lunch.. Ava fell asleep, and her pose was so funny so I captured it. She's so funny. Before she fell asleep, when my dad tried to move her leg, she got mad.. and so my dad didn't dare to move it afterwards. hahahaha
